11 Day Trip with the Amigo's

Just arrived home from an amazing 11 day trip with my Amigo's . This condo was the perfect set up for us.You literally walk out your patios doors onto beautiful white sand which is only 25 yards from the ocean . The Air conditioning blew nice cold air which is a nice change from other spots we've stayed at, All the furniture was nice and in good condition with all appliances working , Anything you needed for cooking was readily available . We went Spear Fishing was some local fisherman that we have know for years. We caught some Lobster , Octopus & Grouper . They made us a huge feast right in the condo (This was one of our best days ) There are massage tables set up right out front of the condo with well qualified people , We took advantages of these hour long massages for $25.00 USD everyday . We will definitely stay at Tim's Condo many more times . Nos vemos el proximo ano .

BEST VACATION OF MY LIFE

We reviewed cancun, playa del carmen, cozumel, and isla de mujeres for about 1 months (+100 hours). And this looked the best for the money. You know how hotel room always look better on the internet?...well this one was even better in person. When we showed up and walked through our new place, it was amazing. We stayed in July 2011. From the awesome AC in every room to the great beds, nice big kitchen w/ bar, to the bose surround sound (on the porch to), the hamacks between palm trees that you can relax in at night as the moon rises over the ocean, the clouds pass by and a gentle breeze moves over your face. The sound of the club was not a problem at all in our rooms, you could hear a little bit in the living room on the weekend. But who goes to Play del carmen to sit in your living room at night? Go to 5th street (1 minute walking distance), or night clubs (30 seconds away). Need groceries?...Wal-mart (5-10 minutes walking). Tim was a pleasure working with. Even though the 24 hour security is not needed..they are there 24 hours, they are very friendly and helped us out with so many things. The beach is amazing and is just steps away. Please book your vacation here if you want to have the best stay in the Cancun area. By the way, we looked at the other places in the surrounding areas that we were considering THEY DID NOT HOLD CANDLE TO THIS PLACE.

Upscale, Modern Condo in Prime Location

We just returned from a fun and relaxing 4 night stay at this lovely beachfront condo. From booking to check out, all went smoothly thanks to Tim, the owner, and the property management. Tim made booking easy and provided the most comprehensive check-in packet I have received detailing instructions for all of the condo's amenities as well restaurant and activity suggestions. The condo itself is modern luxuriousness with well equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, high thread count sheets, and decorated in beautiful woods and stone. The location cannot be beat, located first floor, ocean front with the white sand beach and multi-blue hued Caribbean as a back drop. We spent most of our time relaxing in the provided chaises or hammock and enjoyed drink and food service from the waiters at Coco Maya next door. Fifth Avenue provided great entertainment, shopping and some excellent cuisine. We highly recommend this condo for a beautiful, relaxing getaway.

Spring Break Getaway with the family

We just returned from enjoying one week at this wonderful condo. This condo is pretty much advertised precise. It's on the ground floor, the beach is steps away. It has all the amenities you need and its super close to all the action of La Quinta. We took our three children age 2, 4 and 6 as well as 3 adults. We stocked up the kitchen and enjoyed making meals everyday but also took advantage of the restaurant at Coco Maya next door. They can bring you food to the outdoor eating area. It was great to wake up to the view of the patio table, hammocks and the beautiful ocean steps away. There was always security on site. The cleaning services are every two days but we opted to pay extra for everyday cleaning. The washer and dryer were essential to us. The AC worked great and the water pressure in the back bedroom was fine. We had some minor hiccups but the staff and owner quickly tried to resolve them. The sliding doors to the patio lock from the inside and the front door has keyless entry so you can leave for a swim without having to worry about losing a key. The condo has a safe which we used and worked fine. We also took our kids for a swim in the pool and the really enjoyed themselves. There is a bbq grill but we never got around to using it. Also there are plenty of toys and boogie boards etc for your use. Another fun thing was the webcam which is steps from the condo at Playa Palms. We facebooked our friends and got in front of it so we could say Hi to them online. Also had a nice relaxing beach front message with the ppl in front of the condo. Only one of the outdoor speakers was working but it was enough for us to enjoy and create our own mood while hanging outside. Every room has a tv and they all worked well, also there is free Vonage phone service. There is a club next door and on friday and saturday nights it can get louder but we had absolutely no problems sleeping. All in all this is a great condo, good location if you like the action of Playa. It was clean, comfortable and safe.

A note about the outdoor speakers: they are Bose and have amazed me to survive 4 years in the elements with still great sound. I will never buy any other brand. The wires are the problem as the salt air rusts the connection and a jiggle or a little more aggressive movement has always done the trick for me to clear a little of the rust and allow the wires to make contact and restore full function. Beachside in Playa

We, group of 6 woman, just returned last night from a wonderful week -- ** Beachside** -- in Playa del Carmen. The unit is just as advertised – directly on the beach which was outstanding. We have visited Playa for the past several years and were amazed by how deep the beach is versus last year. Up till the last night of our stay we were the only guests in the condo building and had the entire beach space to ourselves. ? Everyone on the beach was extremely friendly and within hours new friends were made. Charlie from Coco Maya was there for a helping hand – and Marco for great excursion ideas. (A great idea…. Marco – arranges fishing charters off new pier to left of condo – coordinated fresh fish one afternoon to be prepared for lunch by the crew at CoCo Maya. Complete with rice, French fries and tortilla shells it was an amazing lunch served on our patio.) The condo is located in the HEART of PLAYA – and the music starts at 8 or so and continues to 5 in the morning. The bass is deep and you will hear it in the condo -- in two of the three bedrooms it is faint. Unfortunately it does take away any plans you might have of enjoying a quiet evening under the stars on the patio – the tradeoff is you are steps from the hottest nightclubs in town. All a matter of perspective and what you are looking for on your vacation. As with any vacation there were a few bumps but nothing that could not be worked thru. Upon arrival we found the condo closed up and unclean – actually left in a terrible mess by the previous occupants. The management company was called and a cleaning crew of 4 was there in 30 min. and turned it around in 1 hour. Looked like a new place. Somewhere along the line there was a communication breakdown as the management company did not have record of our arrival – notwithstanding – they were very professional. Tim, owner, has the most complete condo information packet that details every step from immigration to arriving at the front door. From my first inquiry thru the last question about hairdryers – he was responsive and very patient.

We just returned from our vacation in Playa and had a fabulous time. We have been to Playa many times and have stayed in all inclusive resorts, but this condo was a welcome alternative to the typical all inclusive vacation. The condo has a wonderful patio and is well equipped for cooking and storing meals and cocktails in the refrigerator. We had 8 people in the condo, 4 adults and 4 kids- and it was very comfortable for all of us. We felt extremely safe the entire time and the security and condo staff are very helpful and friendly. Thanks Tim! We will definitely be returning in the future.

Awesome vacation!

My family and I have stayed at this condo twice and absolutely loved it. Nothing beats walking out of your patio door and onto the sand. It was so nice not having to pack a "beach bag" to go to the beach; five steps and you are back in your condo with everything you need, ie. restroom, food, drink, etc. The condo was perfect, so clean and decorated to the max. Loved being served tacos, ceviche, etc.. from restaurant (Coco Maya) next door. They will even set up the food on your own patio table. The beachside massage at Coco Maya are amazing, better than in the States and about half the price. There are a couple a night clubs next door, but once inside the condo the music can not be heard. The condo is 2 blocks away from 5th Avenue which has all the good shopping and restaurants. Our favorite restaurant is Carboncitas which is just off 5th Ave. We have taken children and had no problem. They loved being able to go inside once tired of the beach or enjoyed going for a swim in the pool adjacent to the condo. We felt completely safe in the condo, plus Ocean Plaza has a 24 hour security guard. One luxury of the condo (which we did not realize was a luxury until coming to Mexico) is the ablility to flush toilet paper down the toilet (bano, as they call it in Spanish). Many other condo and public restaurants do not allow this and insist the paper be thrown in trash can (YUCK!). Fishing, sailing, and parasailing are all available steps away from the condo; even a short walk down the beach to the ferry and one can spend the day in Cozumel. In summary, this condo feels almost like a second home, very inviting, and my family and I are in the process of booking our third trip here next year!

We stayed in this condo with another couple in February, and can't wait to get back. The condo was well equipped with everything you need to make a great vacation! The location on the beach can not be beat!. It was so great to wake up in the morning to have coffee on the patio and watch the nearby establishments getting ready for the day. In the evening, after a great day on the beach, having a margarita with friends is just my idea of a vacation. I would definitely recommend the property to others, although I would love to keep the secret all to myself.

My own private Mexico (Playa del Carmen that is)

I have been back two weeks now and I am already dreaming of a return visit. This oceanfront condo was even better then I imagined. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot and was greeted by the friendly security / maintenence staff, I knew I was in good hands. They quickly introduced themselves and carried my bags to the condo and were on hand through out my stay to carry packges, groceries, etc... The condo was everything I hoped it would be and then some. The Living / Dining room which are quite spacious were great for entertaining with the large flat panel TV, stereo / Ipod hookup, high speed internet and an added bonus was the Vonage phone service which was great for free long distance calls back home to family and unfortunately work. The Kitchen was well equiped for most any occasion though for the most part the only appliance I can vouch for is the blender which was still running after 12 days and nights of non-stop use. The 3 bedrooms were all very nice. The Master and second King both have Flat panel TV's which allowed the kids to hook up their video games they brought from home and stay clear of the "boring adults". You are just steps away from the beautiful blue Caribbean and the wait staff from the beach club next door is their to serve you breakfast and lunch on your own private ocean front terrace. As far as location goes, everything you could want or need is within walking distance form the condo and taxi's are cheap if you need to venture further away. Along the beach you can find boats and crews to take you fishing, parasailing, jet sking, what ever. If your lucky the owner might be there to personally check you in, he is a treat and a true Playa expert. One last thing, try to plan your trip around the time the Moon / Luna is entering its full stage. As you and yours sit on the beach or terrace you will be gifted with a memory that will last a lifetime as it rises up out of the sea to the east and that wonderfully hypnotic glow that seems to dance across the waves takes over. You will find yourself thinking like I did, how soon can I book a return visit. I will be Back!! Jim May 8 - 20, 2009

Beachfront Condo

This condo was great as it was really right on the beach....however, it was in the heart of a disco/hard rock/nightclub circuit which started loud music in early afternoon and continued until 5 a.m. each morning! Even with doors closed at night, you could hear the base booming.... If you want peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. Also, if you're not a cat lover, beware...owner feeds a stray feline twice a day and she's always at your patio door seeking attention, food and entry to the condo. Other than that, great view, walking distance to town, great resturants, shopping, and the ferry to Cozumel. Property was clean and nice upon arrival, however maid service was never provided during our 6 day visit. We were under the impression that housekeeping would come in a couple of times during the week of our stay. We also liked the 24 hour security posted on site...especially in light of the nightclubs and all night partying.

Owner response:What bothers me most about this review is that it seems like this guest feels misled. That couldn't be farther from the my intent. I email an orientation packet to all guests before their travel addressing all these issues. The location of the condo is indeed in the heart of Playa, which has a thriving nightlife. Most guests are return visitors to Playa and realize this. Even guests who are families with small kids have shared my opinion that the bedrooms are insulated enough that normal sleep is not affected. I think perhaps this group of retirees just didn't have accurate expectations, and I hope all future guests now will as a result of this informative review/response. My AquazulPlaya website has a photo gallery with 12 or so patio photos. There are at least 4 photos showing "Moto" the beloved cat. I refer all inquiries to this site as there are more photos than on HomeAway. This cat covers and area over a half-mile on the beach and will not hang around if you don't feed it or give it attention. My welcome materials clearly states that you don't have to worry about feeding Moto, as he will definitely not starve because there are so many people feeding him. However, most guests find this adorable and friendly cat a welcome visitor. I was in Playa during this stay and was available to this guest, but was never asked about additional housekeeping visits. The HomeAway listing clearly states under "Onsite Services" as "Housekeeping-Optional". There also is in condo contact info for the onsite management company to schedule housekeepers. Professional, uniformed cleaning and maintenance crews are available, but they must be requested. I am glad the 24-hour security provided comfort, but I must say that this is really just to patrol the parking spaces and beach chairs as Playa is not a place where there is a concern for personal safety. It is just not the environment for out of control party people or where other strangers might put tourists at risk. I am concerned this guest feels cheated, and that is not at all the impression I want to leave on anyone that stays with me. A trip back to Playa doesn't sound like a great offer, as this area is probably not for her. Thus, I am offering her a free 4 night visit to my Watershed Cabins in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. Fantastic stay!

My family stayed in this condo April 13-20, 2009. We are very frequent travelers to Playa and have rented other condos, stayed at AI's and small boutique hotels as well. This was by far our best experience to date. The location of this condo can not be beat, and staying right on the beach eliminates the need to pay beach club pricing for food, drinks, chairs and palapas. The condo was clean and well appointed, everything you might need is there. We did request maid service twice and they did a fantastic job or replenishing towels, sweeping, and cleaning the bathrooms. The wireless internet was flawless, and for me that was a huge plus since I must work even while on vacation. The noise from the night clubs can be heard, especially on the weekends and sitting outside late at night could be a problem for some. But we personally did not have trouble sleeping - some might but we didn't. We knew about this going in and the benefits of this condo far, far outweighed this one negative. Moto the cat was an added plus for us. My children enjoyed seeing him at the patio door each morning and took care of feeding and playing with him. He is a joy to watch with a tennis ball! Tim the owner is a class act, he was a total pleasure to deal with from start to finish. He is a true professional in every sense of the word. Thanks Tim, for a great time. Just arrived back home to Sweden after a 12 days journey to Yucatan. We stayed at this condo for 7 nights, but all other places/hotels we slept at were in relation to this condo really bad. We all referred to this place thereafter as "home". I would recommend this condo to ALL people, family aswell as friends. We were 7 young friends that slept here and we all have just positive things to say about this condo. Also positive was the treatment by the owner of the condo as we met in person. If you are looking for a condo in Playa del Carmen or in the near, don't hesitate to rent this one.

This condo is FABULOUS! It is right. on. the. beach. The owners spared no expense in furnishing this rental. It is comfortable AND luxurious. Playa itself offers scuba, jet-skiing, para-sailing and various other beach activites as well great dining and night life. This unit would suit families as well as singles. Make sure to check out spiritair dot com for some great rates to Cancun.

I stayed in Playa for the fourth time with my husband and two of our friends in June. We stayed next door to this condo, and were fortunate enough to meet the owner. We spent time with him on the beach and hanging out with him in town. All the while spending time in the condo. It is gorgeous. We have seen the transformation. It is even more beautiful now than when we left. This place has all the emenities you could want. We look forward to spending more time there next Spring.
