WE GOT SNOW!!!
We've got tons of new snow, enugh for all America. So come on up, for the chance of a lifetime to enjoy. We are all excited, as you can imagine. The town of Mineral is a pleasant four hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area through some of the most interesting and prosperous farm lands of California, and a fine place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. There are two small airports near Mineral, each thirty miles away, one at Red Bluff and the other at Chester on the shores of Lake Almanor. Chester also has a golf course. We have three chalets adjacent to each other, see listing #175926 and #188315, and together can accomodate a total of 34 people. A great venue for reunions, family gatherings, religious retreats, or school field trips. We are the closest accomodations to the south park entrance, with the most attractive rates in the area.
Another plus at Lassen has been with the recent opening, year round, of the brand new state-of-the-art, south entrance, visitor center (Kohm yah-mah-nee) with its parking, warmth, restaurant, and rest rooms. On November 16th our first snow fell in Mineral, elevation 5,000 ft. The cross country skiing dconditions are superb here, with miles of logging trails available without charge. Mineral is the start of the miles long groomed trails for free use, by skiers and snow mobilers. We are situated two hundred yards from this trail head. Overnight tent camping, for the hardy, is allowed in the park by ranger permit. Skiing is free. Sounds like a fairy tale, well I suppose it does, but then Lassen is a fairy tale of snow and forests. The super news is, that the Northern California's Mount Lassen Volcanic national park fees remain the same at $10.00 per car, or van of any number, for a period of seven days.

We stayed here last summer for a weekend. It was a really cute house, close to Mt. Lassen National Park. Very relaxing. All amenities, I think there was a barbecue grill outside, and a stocked kitchen. Very clean. Julie, the owner lives down the street and was very nice and accommodating.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
