Enjoy your visit to the Black Hills and stay in this Historic log cabin, which was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, who were working here during FDR's administration. This log cabin originally was constructed at a nearby lake in the Black Hills and stood there from the 1930s until 1984. At that time, Wolfgang completely disassembled this cabin, moved it onto our property in scenic Vanocker Canyon, restored the inside, and added the charming kitchen/dining area.
There are no other structures near this private cabin, sitting on five acres, and it is not within a development. There is a newly paved 75' asphalt driveway allowing plenty of room if you travel with a camper or trailer.
As you will see from the pictures, this is a very cozy cabin for your honeymoon, weekend getaway, family vacation or any time you want to spend a few days in the Black Hills. Nearby attractions: Hike in Little Elk Canyon along a rushing creek, explore the beauty of Wonderland Cave, try your luck with fishing at Dalton Lake off one of two piers, or visit the quaint town of Nemo for horseback riding in the National Forest or a nice meal at the Brandin' Iron Cafe.
We have a South Dakota Lodging License and also have been listed in the "Insider's Guide" since 1997.
Sturgis Rally: We still have August 14 and 15 available--the last weekend of the rally. Please e-mail or call for rates.
