We had a wonderful time. The kitchen is very well stocked. I had planned to bring my griddle to make pancakes one morning. I forgot, and thought I would have to use a skillet that would take forever (4 teenage boys and 4 adults). Well, there was a griddle in the cabin! Perfect! The beds were so comfy, the view was beautiful, the game room became the boys hangout when they weren't outside. We came home relaxed and ready for a busy summer!Owner response: Thank you so much for sharing your experience at Eagles Rest with us and our future guests. We enjoy Eagles Rest as a family vacation retreat and are so happy when we hear from others that they too have enjoyed their stay. I hope you will be able to return for another retreat.

My family loved our Spring Break week at Eagles Rest. Even with a couple of rain days and cold weather (we are from Charleston, SC where it was 70) we found plenty to do to keep ourselves and the kids occupied. The fireplace on the deck was our favorite feature of the home and look forward to returning. Thank you for such a lovely cabin.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

When we arrived at Eagle’s Rest is had begun to snow. By the next morning the ground was covered. It was cold and snowy the entire weekend but that did nothing but foster a simply awesome and amazing weekend with our family. The cabin is definitely luxurious, with great room, two master suites, but yet very comfortable and convenient for everyone. We all loved having coffee in the morning while looking on the mountain range and apple orchards in the valley below to relaxing in the hot tub and playing a game of pool with my grandson’s. We found the kitchen well equipped. We cooked almost all meals there. There is WiFi throughout the cabin. It was convenient to all our needs. Short trips too Elijah and McCaysville were so much fun. We hiked several trails a short drive from our cabin and took an absolutely beautiful driving tour. We will be back! We highly recommend this cabin and think this is the best place to stay when you want a relaxing vacation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are so glad when guests enjoy Eagles Rest like we do: family fun; relaxing; comfortable and convenient.

Eagles Rest was everything we hoped for, and more! Even better than the online photos, this luxurious cabin exceeded our expectations. Our visit started off as a romantic getaway for two and then flourished to a reunion as our friends joined us at the end of our trip and were equally as thrilled with the property and its amenities. We adored the fireplaces, and the firepit was perfect for an evening of S'mores; the game room was just the icing on the cake! We can't wait to book our next getaway in a bit warmer of a climate when we can really enjoy all the outdoor activities. Eagles Rest is about ten minutes from downtown Blue Ridge so we want to come back and take the scenic train ride, rent a boat on Lake Blue Ridge, and go whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River which is only about 20 minutes away.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We love to know that other families and friends enjoy Eagles Rest like we do! We are adding new features and amenities so that we all can feel comfortable at Eagles Rest. I look forward to return visits for our guests.

We stayed 7 nights at Eagles Rest and rang in the new year on the large deck in front of the fireplace. We had 3 couples, 2 teens, and one child and everyone enjoyed their stay. Everything you read and see is 100% accurate. The home was spacious with 2 separate living areas. However, most of the time was spent on the deck with the fireplace. Time and care was taken with this cabin. The detailed decorations were just perfect. There was ample serving ware and cook ware. Only suggestion would be to add a couple large skillets for larger groups. However, we were still fine. The refridgerator was large enough for a weeks stay. All the bathrooms were well furnished with towels and washcloths. Good quality ones, too. Even the deck furniture was the perfect fit for the cabin. The kids (and big kids) enjoyed the game area. The multicade was the big hit. The neighbor hood was small enough we could let the kids roam as they pleased. This was our third cabin we've stayed in Blue Ridge and was the nicest yet. We will be sure to consider Eagles Rest for our next trip! Thank you for sharing your home with us!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.
Owner response: We've added another large skillet!

I rented this location for my Wife and some of her college friends as her birthday present. My wife came back with rave reviews (she likes staying in a nice place). The location was clean and comfortable. The outdoor fireplace was apparnetly the location for preparing lots of smores, reliving college days, and catching up with news. Very close to Blue Ridge.Recommended for: Girls getaway

Eagle's Rest had everything we were promised. It is a beautiful cabin in an extraordinary location. The sunrise each morning was spectacular. The leaves were beautiful! The cabin is large and no one was ever in anyone's space :) The view from the living room was breathtaking. The fireplace on the deck was fabulous and was the gathering place for several nights. The house has everything you need and the kitchen was modern and lovely. The beds were comfortable and we had a lovely time! We would recommend this property to anyone! We had a wonderful time staying here in October earlier this year. The purpose of our trip was to getaway for few days, hang out with friends and enjoy rafting on the Ocoee. This place was perfect for that and just minutes from the river. The cabin is great for a small group of 8-10 and we have been doing these weekends for the last four years. I am usually the one that organizes these trips and a few people on the trip commented that this was the nicest place we had been. The kitchen is nice and opens into a large living room that is perfect for hanging out during the evening. There is a large wrap around deck that allowed people to spread out and relax or just enjoy the view. Overall, an amazing weekend and felt like home for a few days.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The cabin is beautiful, great workmanship. Not the view I was looking for, only a small open area to see the mountains. The stairs leading to the Master bedroom look nice but because they are built from real logs the treads are odd sizes and great care should be taken while on them.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We added additional pictures of the view from the deck at different times of the year so renters expectations will be accurate and met with pleasure. The long range views are definitely better when the trees have few or no leaves. We added non skid tape to the stairs leading to the Master bedroom and loft.

Eagles Rest is well located for sightseeing in all the small mountain towns in the area. It is convenient to all basic needs. The home is well maintained, clean and beautifully decorated. The amenities are plentiful for all ages in a family. Extra care has been taken to provide extras usually not found in vacation rentals. And it is extremely pet friendly. The rental process was smoothly executed and the few questions we asked were promptly and accurately answered. Even down to arranging a dog crate for our Beardy. This vacation was for the most part rest, reading and relaxation and the home was ideally suited to that. Covered porches , a great gas grill, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen were a real treat. We felt like Eagles Rest was our home.Four weeks passed with extreme comfort. We really enjoyed the towns of Helen and Dahlonega. Both were unique, lovely and with a variety of places to eat. The home is across the street from a view of the mountains that is breathtaking to say the least. But is a seasonal view. If a wide angle view is desired carefully consider the dates of your stay. However, had the leaves not been on the trees I doubt whether you could have stood the sun intensity. As always nature provides us with choices. I would definitely return for another stay at Eagles Rest and would recommend it highly for both large families and small families because it is laid out in a fashion appropriate for all types of families with all kinds of vacation needs. We chose it for a long term stay and couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for intrusting you vacation home to us for four weeks. We felt right at home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for sharing your Eagles Rest experience. We work hard to make Eagles Rest a retreat for rest, relaxation and family fun. And yes, pets are a major part of that fun for our grandchildren. Keep us in mind for future trips, because we have more improvements planned.

Our family retreat to Eagles Rest was wonderful. The cabin offered every possible amenity and was very well maintained. The cabin offers three levels of living space and every corner of this cabin was well planned and decorated to compliment the mountain atmosphere. There is an awesome loft area with a cozy lounger for reading. For the kids or adults who like to stay entertained, there is a pool table, arcade, and board games. Our favorite spot was the outdoor living area that featured a stone fireplace with relaxing furniture for just sitting and taking in the awesome mountain air. We look forward to returning to the Eagles Rest very soon!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: It is our goal for every family to enjoy Eagles Rest. We make every effort to make Eagles Rest a comfortable family and pet friendly place to stay. We look forward to return visits from our guests.

Our stay was fabulous at Eagles Rest. The cabin is so spacious and wonderfully decorated. Everyone enjoyed themselves at the cabin and in Blue Ridge. Main Street was delightful and the food was delicious everywhere we ate (especially at Serenity Garden Cafe on Main Street). We enjoyed ziplining and horseback riding. We look forward to returning and hopefully taking the 2 hour horseback ride!Owner response: I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Eagles Rest. We try to make our guests comfortable. We hope you will return for more hiking, horseback riding and white water rafting.

Prior to our stay, we had many questions about the cabin, it's location, good restaurants, etc. and always received a timely response for all of the information we needed to know prior to traveling to Eagle's Rest. Once we all got to the cabin, we were more than impressed with the look of the cabin and the view of the Mercier orhcards and mountains off in the distance was beautiful. We enjoyed the fireplace out on the deck and the cabin had everything we needed for such a large group. We will definitely consider Eagles' Rest for our next annual Blue Ridge trip!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I am so pleased your "large" group had a pleasant stay at Eagles Rest. We want every guest to experience the very best hospitality possible. I look forward to your next annual trip!

We just lived this cabin! It was a perfect getaway from the busy city life. The owners were kind and helpful and available to answer any questions. We went with another couple who enjoyed the weekend just as much as we did. It snowed while we were there and was the coldest weekend on GA record for many years... So we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor fireplace as much as we would have like to. It was only a 5 minute drive into town to the grocery store - this was a plus - so we didn't feel trapped and unable to run to the store. Most of the town was closed early (pizza places, restaurants, etc.) because it was the winter "slow season" so we had to do all if our own cooking throughout the weekend - the kitchen had every available amenity, and my girlfriend even baked a homemade cheesecake. We also used the gas grill a few times. Thanks for a memorable weekend!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We are so pleased when our guests enjoy Eagles Rest. I hope you will make this your annual valentine celebration!

Eagles Rest was the perfect holiday house for our family! The photos were accurate, but it was even more beautiful in person! The view was spectacular, and the outdoor fireplace was a wonderful bonus! There was also plenty of firewood provided. The upstairs loft outside of the master bedroom had a lovely twin sized bed, computer desk and double sized lounging chair. There was more than enough room for our family of 7. The kitchen was well equipped with all the necessities for holiday cooking. The home was extremely clean and well cared for. There were plenty of spare linens provided as well. Cathy, the owner was very accommodating and helpful and kind. Downtown Blue Ridge is charming as well, with all the little shops, boutiques and eateries. We loved our visit to Blue Ridge and look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you for a wonderful family holiday!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I'm pleased our guests enjoyed our home for the holidays! We intend to make every visit to Eagles Rest a comfortable and pleasant one.

The whole family gathered for Christmas the weekend before Christmas. We made cookies and decorations for the tree. We sat by the outdoor fireplace and made s'mores. The children played pool and foosball. Everyone had comfortable accomodations. Eagles Rest is a beautiful setting for any family get-together but especially for Christmas. I look forward to many more Christmas visits.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Christmas at Eagles Rest was wonderful. We couldn't have been more pleased with the house and area where it is located! There was plenty of room for our children and grandchildren. The home had a well equipped kitchen and beds that could compete with our beds at home. There are many hiking trails a short distance from the home. My favorite part was sitting on the porch with the fireplace going. The children enjoyed playing pool and foosball downstairs. We go to Blue Ridge every year and this is our favorite place by far. The owners were so easy to deal with, it made the whole rental experience a real pleasure. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time in your cabin! It was a perfect fit for our family and the beds were very comfortable. The cabin was very convenient to horseback riding, downtown Blue Ridge, and the Aska area as we took several hikes one that was over 6 miles. We enjoyed our pies at Mercier Orchards and tried a new flavor of the fried pies Sweet potatoe that was excellent. One of my favorite things at the cabin was the sun coming in thru the windows in the morning.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
