Enjoy being nestled among the tall Fir trees with wide views of the Georgia Strait and Cascade Mountains. This 3 acre piece of paradise is a hillside covered with natural flora and fauna, on a private road, only 4 miles and just minutes from the center of Eastsound, and 15 miles from the ferry terminal on Orcas Island.
The home has a open floor plan.
The Great Room is comfortably appointed with leather seating, and has a extra large sky-lite, positioned over the peak of the roof. Relax on the couch and watch the white, wispy clouds float overhead or enjoy the gentile swaying of the tips of the tall Fir Trees. There is a telescope for watching the ships as they move through the Georgia Strait. There is a large flat screen TV, with surround sound, DVD/CD/VHS players and WiFi computer signal, over 150 movies and 60 Cd's, double doors open onto the patio, and THE VIEW.
The Kitchen has butcher block counters, dish washer with detergent, full sized stove and oven, full sized refrigerator with cold filtered water and ice maker in the door, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, food processor and smoothie blender. A complete selection of stainless steel pans. Utensils. Flour, sugar, spices and basic condiments are there for your use. If it's in the kitchen, feel free to use it while you are staying at the house. There is a 11' island counter with 7 bar stools that faces the work area so you may visit with your chef, a dinning room table that seats 6, double doors open onto the patio, and THE VIEW.
The Master Bedroom has a king sized bed with a med/firm mattress, a leather love seat for quiet reading, a large desk for private writing, a electric fireplace, a TV with DVD/VHS player, a book case with wide cross section of titles, double doors open onto the patio, and THE VIEW.
The Master Bathroom has a deep jacuzzi tub, a slate lined walk-in shower hall 3 ft. x 6 ft. with 2/height adjustable waterpik shower heads. Candles around the tub and bath salts adds that extra ambiance for a private relax, plenty of white towels and a sky lite.
There second bedroom and bathroom is at the other end of the house. That bedroom has a med. firm queen sized mattress with a 3 inch memory foam mattress topper, a desk area, book shelves and a dresser. There are 2 big windows and The View.
The second bathroom may be entered from the second bedrrom or from the kitchen area.
This home is perfect for couples. The house is built on a steep hillside that is not fenced off from the patio so may not be suitable for toddlers.or young children.
The spacious stone patio is ideal for sitting day or night. There is a out-side fire pit with some firewood provided. BB-Q over a charcoal grill, some charcoal is provided. There are 4 reclining lounge chairs. Enjoy outdoor dinning around the wood table4 chairs and with a cloth sun shade umbrella. And THE VIEW.
A wonderful place for your first cup of coffee in the morning.
The rent is set for 4 persons per night staying at the house.
An additional $25.00 per person per night will be added when over the 4 person occupancy.
Maximum occupancy is 6 persons.
There is a self inflating/deflating Queen sized air mattress that stands about knee high and can be set up in the great room.
This can be set up if you need it.
Why is the off season rent so low?
Oct - April Owner lives in basement apartment in the house. I can not see into any windows or onto your private patio. My apartment is under the second bedroom part of the house only and a thick rug in that room buffers any sound. The Only place you might see me is the parking area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. All the amenities of home. Spices and condiments, pots and pans, appliances, utensils....everything one needs for cooking fun. Comfy, big bed with French doors that open up onto the view from the hand-laid stone patio. This homeowner did a bunch of the work on this beautiful place herself, and we're impressed! In-floor radiant heat kept the stone floors comfortable. Really pretty master bathroom. Two desks so no haggling with a partner over which one gets the desk. :) We hope to stay again sometime. Great CD collection to play on the stereo, too. Thank you for the hassle-free, fun place to stay.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

"DeLong View" exceeded our expectations !!! The house & property were absolutely beautiful and we were beyond comfortable and felt so at home. The deck & view were priceless and we spent a lot of time out there. We had perfect weather so the view of Mount Baker was most always there for us. And the deer were a delight to watch. Donna, you did a tremendous job !!! And, it was great to have met you. When the grandchildren get older we would definately move to Orcas Island ..... unless we can get our son-in-law to transfer to Redmond sooner !!!! It's always a little scary picking a place to stay, in a place you have never been, off a website. We were delightfully surprised with this property. The pictures don't do it justice. The back patio is amazing, and our favorite place to be was around the fire ring at night. The view was amazing, and the weather the week we were visiting was gorgeous. The home was comfortable and clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the equipment you could need to cook some delicious meals. I would highly recommend this property. The price is fair, and the location is secluded and pleasant. The island is small enough that all the attractions were close by and easy to get to. I would love to return to this property some day, and I would recommend it to anyone planning to stay on the island for some R&R.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

This was our second year of consecutive stays at this particular property. All other we have stayed in over the years pale by comparison! The owner has thought of every little detail and goes out of her way to make certain that everything is ship shape prior to your arrival. The place is secluded with a perfect co-existence with nature; many different birds, deer, wolverines, etc.. that you can just sit on the comfortable patio and watch. The patio side of the house has beautiful full-view windows and doors with spectacular views of the sunrise, the Cascades, and the Sound. Breathtaking. And, you are just a few minutes from the village of Eatsound and near Moran State Park wher you have beach access. We will be returning at least once a year and more frequently if we can find the time!Recommended for: People with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

This was exactly what I needed for a weekend by myself. Just far enough from town to be completely peaceful, but not so far that I couldn't pop into town for a bite to eat or to pick up supplies. The place was neat, clean and inviting. The heated floors made the space feel cozy. Super comfortable king-sized bed, large jetted soaking tub, and absolutely spectacular views. I will absolutely go and stay here again, and will tell others to do the same.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

This was our 6th summer renting on Orcas. Your home was the most private and peaceful of any we've rented. The house layout was perfect for us, we enjoyed the scenic patio with your lovely plants and flowers, the well equipped kitchen and comfortable king bed. Since we were there for 5 weeks we liked having "his and her" desks in the master and guest rooms and the WiFi. Also got our deposit back in two business days. Thanks again, Donna. Exceptionally clean and well-maintained, yet it felt like our lovely vacation home. The many unique birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies were the exciting entertainment, along with grazing deer, and an awesome view off the lovely patio. To cap off the evening there's a wonderful fire pit and an awesome sound system -- just add the bottle of vino!! We are going to try to return on a regular basis -- it's a GREAT value for what you derive from it! About the owner: I found Orcas Island,WA. in 1990. I had never been to Washington State, let alone the San Juan Islands. I knew I had found home with in 15 minutes of driving off the ferry. This place feeds my artistic spirit and creative side. I have worked toward my goal of buying property on Orcas Island and building my own place since then. I started building in 2003. I was my own General Manager of this project. The professionals put in the parts that are controlled by building requirements to met code, like power, water, framing the house, etc. After that is when the hands on part of the job was all mine. I put in all the slate flooring, wood trim, siding, painting, cupboards, sinks, tubs, slate shower hall, stone patio, etc. I could write a book with all that took place. The house turned out lovely, if I do say so myself, and you can't beat the views. I have not had one negative piece of feed-back about the house since I started renting it. Why the Owner Chose Eastsound:
This Island offered the clean air and lush green landscape that has always been important to my comfort in a place. I need tall trees, natural settings, wild animals and birds as part of my daily life. The ocean being near-by and viewable daily, around nearly every corner I turn or hill I drive over, is a blessing I don't take for-granted. The views of the awesome mountains were a plus, and now I can't think of life without them to gaze at.
The fact that there are no traffic jambs or stop lights have to be listed as a plus too.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The peace and serenity you feel sitting on the patio with the sight of the Cascade Mountains and the Georgia Strait right there. Flowers blooming all around and birds to watch as their songs fill the air. The quiet of living on a 3 acre piece of paradise, on a private road, with no through traffic or city noises. Not another house in sight.
If the weather is overcast or if it has snowed and all is covered, it still feels bright in the Great Room, due to the huge ski-lite over the peak of the roof. The heated slate floors with rich, bold colors feel warm to my bare feet in the winter, and cool when I take feet out of my hot shoes in the summer.
So many things like this are what makes my home special to me, and to you too if you want.
