This was our second year of consecutive stays at this particular property. All other we have stayed in over the years pale by comparison! The owner has thought of every little detail and goes out of her way to make certain that everything is ship shape prior to your arrival. The place is secluded with a perfect co-existence with nature; many different birds, deer, wolverines, etc.. that you can just sit on the comfortable patio and watch. The patio side of the house has beautiful full-view windows and doors with spectacular views of the sunrise, the Cascades, and the Sound. Breathtaking. And, you are just a few minutes from the village of Eatsound and near Moran State Park wher you have beach access. We will be returning at least once a year and more frequently if we can find the time!

This was exactly what I needed for a weekend by myself. Just far enough from town to be completely peaceful, but not so far that I couldn't pop into town for a bite to eat or to pick up supplies. The place was neat, clean and inviting. The heated floors made the space feel cozy. Super comfortable king-sized bed, large jetted soaking tub, and absolutely spectacular views. I will absolutely go and stay here again, and will tell others to do the same.

This was our 6th summer renting on Orcas. Your home was the most private and peaceful of any we've rented. The house layout was perfect for us, we enjoyed the scenic patio with your lovely plants and flowers, the well equipped kitchen and comfortable king bed. Since we were there for 5 weeks we liked having "his and her" desks in the master and guest rooms and the WiFi. Also got our deposit back in two business days. Thanks again, Donna. Nancy & Randy

Exquisite yet comfy

Exceptionally clean and well-maintained, yet it felt like our lovely vacation home. The many unique birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies were the exciting entertainment, along with grazing deer, and an awesome view off the lovely patio. To cap off the evening there's a wonderful fire pit and an awesome sound system -- just add the bottle of vino!! We are going to try to return on a regular basis -- it's a GREAT value for what you derive from it! Kudos to Delongview!!!

Donna, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. It is so bright and cheerful, and the kitchen was a delight to use. What an amazing stay we had at Delongview on Orcas Island. The house was just what we needed to unwind. The spacious kitchen was perfect for our culinary endeavours. The bedroom and bathroom suited us well. We all were so happy and pleased with all the details. From the fire pit to the hummingbirds, this place is just what one would want in a vacation. Not quite what we expected

My husband and I were interested in this property because it is on 3 acres off a private road - it sounded like a perfect place for a secluded, romantic getaway! Unfortunately, that was not what we found. Please be aware there is an attached apartment for the owner and her pets to stay at. The parking area and laundry are shared by the owner and renters, and there is a shared wall between the main room and the owners apartment. Therefore we were awakened each morning before 7am by the owner going about her business. She said she was only there because there was a problem with the water pressure (and honestly, I am skeptical about that story), but I would have liked to have known there was a second residence attached before I booked it. To be fair, the house is beautiful and nicely appointed and the view is amazing. But, if we were interested in a duplex or hotel-type experience we would have rented somewhere else. When we left a night early, and explained this to the owner, we were not offered a refund or any type of compensation for our inconvenience.

Owner response:At the time of this guests visit, I was living off island and in order to have a palce to stay if doing work/repairs on the house, I had a space in the basement, under the unrented second bedroom side of the house, where I can stay if I need to do maintenance or repairs on the vacation house. The pluming is all conected so maybe you could hear if water was being used in the basement. This is a resort island so finding a different place for me to stay in this situation is not realistic. I did state in my VRBO listing and in the renal agreement that this is a possibility. I live on island now and have a different address so the issue is not relivent. I will still come by if something needs to be done at the house but I will not need to stay there.

Donna, I think I could write a novel just listing and describing the innumerable delight of your home - among them: *The quiet and Peace *The view! *The gurgling brook and bird song *The shower - I love it! * The tub - I love it also *The warm slate floor tiles (if I ever have a custom-built home, I've got to have these floor tiles!) *The comfy furniture *The daffodils on the side of the house *The planter garden *The sunny patio *The View! *All the other little touches that make this place so lovely We have had such a wonderful, relaxing, peaceful visit. Thank you for the use of your house this week. It was the perfect place to relax and escape the computer, TV, deadlines and projects of the outside world. We loved the view and the patio, especially with the Fall weather. The sound of the rain on the roof was nice! We were here on our annual Fall vacation. In prior years- Switzerland, Vitoria, Outer Banks, Main. This is at the top of our list for diversity of experience. Golf, Hiking, Kayaking and Whale Watching. Your home is lovely with a special feel. We felt at home here, part of the island for a brief time. It was peaceful, beautiful and we LOVED your well equipped kitchen. We drank NW wines and ate seafood, crab, shrimp, halibut, oysters and Chanterelle Mushrooms. Thanks for providing all the things we needed for a great week. Although the weather wasn't sunny & clear, we had a great time!! You have furnished this home with just about everything anyone could need. We haven't heard this much "quiet" in a long time: it was restful. Our stay, May 5, 2009 at Delong view was a fantastic experience, even though it rained the first two days there, the house was so comfortable and beautiful, we didn't mind! The pictures do not do the house justice, it is so well decorated and very clean. Donna seems to anticipate every possible need you might have. AND the VIEW is absolutely breath taking!We drove almost 6,000 miles to get there, but i would do it again this week! Don't miss a visit to Shaw Island and visit the farm run by the Benedictine nuns, and tell them Sandi, Kate and Marvin say HI.

I cannot tell you how incredible our stay was!!!! YOUR HOUSE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The view, patio, fire-pit, kitchen, everything was GREAT! I truly feel as if I was the luckiest person on earth to have found your house. Marty & I had a great time traveling the different islands, hiking, eating, and shopping. We loved the house. We liked many of the choices you put into it. The slate tile floors and walk-in shower with the same slate, and two shower heads, wow. Where did you get those kitchen cupboards? I've never seen any like them. We were attending a wedding at Rosario, and of the 60 people there, we had the nicest place.
