Cordillera (in Edwards, CO) is an exclusive, gated community with four superb golf courses located 30 minutes west of Vail and 15 minutes west of Beaver Creek and Arrowhead ski resorts. There are six restaurants in the Cordillera (including the Timber Hearth Grille pictured below) as well as a pro shop and spa. The house is a 10 minute drive to shopping, alternate restaurants, theaters and many outdoor activities.
Our 4 bedroom “Club Cottage” looks over two fairways (see pictures) and is a short walk from the practice area and putting green for the Mountain Course, designed by Hale Irwin. Nicklaus, Fazio and Pelz have also designed courses within the Cordillera.
The main floor of this three story house has an expansive, vaulted living room with adjoining dining area and open kitchen as well as a master suite with king bed that opens directly to the deck and ample hot tub and views 40 miles down valley to the Gore Range Mountains. There is easy access to a large wooden deck (approx. 500 square feet) which includes a BBQ and outdoor dining table. The ground level has a large family room with TV, fireplace and games, a twin bedroom, a study with a sleep sofa and a laundry room. The second floor has another twin bedroom and a second master suite. All bedrooms have private full bathrooms and walk in closets.
Located in a small cul-de-sac at about 8000 feet elevation, the house has a two car garage with direct access from the first floor. The views are spectacular with large windows looking down to the 6th and 7th fairways of the Mountain Course, the Gore Range to the East, beautiful red, clay cliffs to the North and alpine meadows to the South.
The kitchen is fully-equipped and all linens are supplied. There are 5 cable TVs, a DVD player, stereo, internet via wifi and board games.

What a wonderful Christmas Vacation!

My family had the pleasure of staying in this lovely Cordillera home for the 2011 holidays. Our crew consists of two teens, a six year old and the parents. We skiied Beaver Creek four fantastic days, went horse back riding at 4 G Ranch, enjoyed the hot springs and Alpine Roller Coaster in Gleenwood Springs and relaxed a bit together with Christmas movies, cookies and popcorn! The house was perfect because there was space for everyone to spreadout or gather close anytime. We cooked in a few nights, dined at the lodge a few nights and ate in the village as well all terrific! My husband says the best feature of a larger home for a family vacation is everyone having their own bathroom in the morning, no delays getting to slopes while each person gets their turn with the shower, mirror...
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+.

Great location as you can walk to the practice range and clubhouse provided that it is open! If not, the course was a wonderful place to walk. We spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the scenery and the wildlife...deer frequent the area and were in the cul-de-sac daily. The floor plan is excellent and accomodates couples or families with younger children very well...the younger ones love the bottom level and the adults on main level. We used the upstairs as our master because we rise later than many and this works well...bedrooms each with own bath on every level. We cooked in most nights as the kitchen is fairly well-equipped. Whenever we had a question or problem, it was taken care of quickly. My only negative would be the linens on bed and pillows that could be nicer, but not a biggie. We spent 2 delightful months here.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+.

The views from the deck are fabulous, some of the best in Cordillera. It is a wonderful place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The deck also includes a new and well maintained hot tub. A gentleman appears weekly to clean and maintain the tub. The house has 4 bedrooms, each with it's own bath so there is plenty of room if you are travelling with friends or family. The main floor has an open design so those in the kitchen, dining room, living room and game area can all see each other and carry on a conversation. Downstairs also has a TV and game area so there is plenty of room for guests to spread out. Downstairs is a perfect place for energetic children.
Owner response:Texas has captured the house very well, especially during the summer. But the hot tub is accessible 12 months a year. The heated garage is great for skiers coming home at the end of a full day. Even the porch gas grille is accessible during the winter to add choice to the way dinners are prepared. Owner

I enjoyed both - summer and winter vacation at this house. It has magnificent views and is very quiet. My favorite was to sit in the hot tub and enjoy the views of surrounding mountains. Kitchen and living room provides plenty of room to gather all your family and friends and enjoy drinks by the fireplace followed by dinner while enjoying the spectacular views.
