The most livable and beautiful big city in the USA--Chicago--awaits you from our sunny upstairs flat located in Andersonville, just 12 minutes from the Loop by train.
Comfortably furnished and bright with a skylight and many large windows, our home is on Ravenswood Avenue, a tree-lined street with a landscaped walking path and easy parking across from the Metra tracks.
Close to many (so many!) fine restaurants and some of the most storied attractions on the North Side--The Green Mill jazz club and The Music Box Theater to name just two--you can walk to the Brown Line CTA train which will take you all over the city and to sites such as the Magnificent Mile or one of the many cultural attractions downtown.
Summer in Chicago is a special treat and the city will open its arms to you with festivals and neighborhood events. We provide 2 adult bikes and encourage you to bike along Chicago's spectacular lakefront to Millenium Park (about 40 minutes), Grant Park or the Cultural Center. When you arrive back home on Ravenswood Avenue after a day of exploration you can relax on the patio shaded by honey locusts and a flowering crab while surrounded by raised beds of perennials. Then dine on your private flower-filled deck or walk to one of the many neighborhood restaurants. If you still want more, go to the long running neighborhood production of Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, a delightful improv review that morphs with audience input and current events.
All in all it will be a good day.

Hi Sharon, I enjoyed my stay SO much - your place is great! Thanks so much for everything you did in advance of my trip. I'd love to have stayed longer; of course there are always way more things to do around Chicago than I had time for. I got in a LOT of walking (quickly figured out my route to the trains) and even kayaked the Chicago River! And the weather was absolutely perfect. It was good to meet Darren and his buddies Lester and Silas too. I managed to lock the wrong part of the laundry room door once (the knob instead of the dead bolt) - Darren was kind enough to let me back in. Nice guy! I had some red wine left over (nice red blend from a Washington state winery) so I left that in the refrigerator in case you or Hayley can use it. Thanks again for making your flat available, Sharon. I'm planning a couple of trips to Chicago next year (April and June) so I'll be in touch to see if it's available as soon as I know the dates. Take care, (name withheld)
