Location, Location, Location best describes Park View Cottage at Lake Russell. Situated near the entrance to Richard B. Russell State Park, Park View Cottage offers comfortable and attractive lodging. The best amenities, however, are the recreational opportunities available on its doorstep. World class fishing in the waters and award winning golf (Arrowhead Pointe)along the shores of beautiful Lake Russell are within walking distance. With over 26,000 acres of open water, anglers and boaters will find plenty of recreational opportunities on the lake. Unlike many lakes, Lake Russell's water level remains relatively stable throughout the year. This along with strict Corps management, which limits development, provides easy access and uncrowded pristine water conditions.
Russell State Park offers plenty of recreational activities from canoeing to hiking or biking the 6 miles of trails. The big draw, however, is Arrowhead Pointe Golf Course. The scenic lake course was named the second best "New Affordable Course in America" by Golf Digest Magazine in 2005. Golf Package Rates are available upon request and offer exceptional golf at very affordable prices. Other golf options include Cateechee Golf Club and Highland Walk Golf Course. Catteeche Golf Club is minutes away and has been featured in Golf Digest, The New York Times and other publications. One can also experience excellent southern cuisine from Cateechees Waterfall Grille or have the chef create your own culinary delight. Highland Walk Golf Course is another exceptional state park course and is located 30 minutes away at Victoria Bryant State Park.
The nearby towns of Elberton (Granite Capital)and Hartwell are 10 to 20 minutes away and offer the history and attractions unique to small towns. For a wider range of shopping and dining, Athens, GA and Anderson SC are only 45 minutes away.
Park View Cottage has over 2,100 sq ft of living space for relaxing and sharing the days events with friends or family. It will accommodate two golf foursomes comfortably. There are two dens with sitting areas that together will easily seat 12 adults. Den #1 has a brick fireplace with wood stove insert. Den #2 has 3 day beds that serve as sofas in the day and convert to a full bed for sleeping. This area shares the dining area that seats 6. The Park boat ramp is just around the point from the Cottage. Once in the lake, boats can be accessed by the easy walk from the lot to the water's edge.
