We had a wonderful time staying at the Black Beary Cabin. It was extremely clean and we had the most enjoyable time!! The game room was perfect and the hot tub was amazing. It is highly recommended that everyone visits the Black Beary Cabin... it's an amazing experience you will never forget.

We enjoyed our stay at Black 'Beary' Cabin. It was the perfect cabin for our weekend away, spacious and clean and very comfortable! The hot tub and views were excellent and we hope to be able to come again next year!

Happy to have arrived to a Rental Property that is as pictured and described! The gravel road was an easy wind up through the forest and there was an easy steep paved driveway to the cabin. We had no snow and the road was well maintained with room to corner and drive our large SUV. The Cabin was CLEAN, in order, as described and as pictured! Our family of 8 enjoyed the stay with plenty of room and our children ranging from 3-16 had plenty to do with the game room! We found everything we needed for cooking, cleaning, and enjoying the cabin, hot tub and fire pit! When not enjoying the cabin we visited the Biltmore, took a "Polar Express" train ride, purchased apples from a local orchard store, and mined indoors in Hendersonville! We would return and also have recommended this property to friends and family. As vacation home renters we appreciate it greatly when arriving to rentals that are as pictured and described.

We enjoyed this cabin because it was remotely located in the woods! NOT biker friendly because the long and rough 1 1/2 mile road up to the cabin is NOT paved and the the driveway (which is paved) is quite STEEP. VERY clean and comfortable but lacking adequate furniture in the living room. (No WI- FI... Internet only on the house computer located in basement) Beautiful cabin and area for peace and quiet! Great place to escape from your every day stresses of work and noise.

Description of property was accurate. The owner was easy to work with and clearly stated price and expectations in the contract. The property was centrally located to Lake Lure, Asheville, Cherokee and many other sites. There were minor maintenance issues (light bulbs out, bedroom door that would not shut or lock, floor vent not secured), but overall the property was nice and clean. Owner states in contract that chains or 4-wheel drive should be used during winter. If you are not accustomed to gravel mountain roads that are steep and winding, you may not be comfortable coming back to the cabin at night. The cabin fit our family well and we enjoyed the variety of relaxing opportunities available (cable tv, game room, rocking chairs on porch, hot tub, sounds of breeze and creek).

I stayed for a week with my wife and 3 kids. The kids LOVED their rooms. The area is very quiet, and we had fun hiking in the surrounding woods. The cabin was cozy, and the ping-pong and air hockey were blessings when it rained. Close to many things to do, and Asheville (Biltmore) is only about 20 minutes away We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

This was a very nice cabin. We enjoyed our mini-vacation very much. The cabin was away from everything and very peaceful. Close enought to Chimney Rock and Hendersonville to enjoy a day out to explore. Just be prepared for the very steep driveway. And once you get to the cabin, 1 mile up the mountain road, you won't feel like going back out right away. I would suggest getting what you need ahead of time so you don't have to run back out to the store. We would definitely go back to this location.

There were seven in our Family group and we all thought the Black Beary Cabin far exceeded our expectations! It really is in the mountains and yet close enough to many great places of interest. As we approached the driveway we were already excited to the max! I am the Grandpa, and had Wife, Daughters, Granddaughter and dog. Anything we needed, we found, along with many extra items. Everything was clean and maintained very well. We used the Hot Tub along with the Grill and had a great dinner on the deck one evening under a Full Moon. We fell in love with the place and miss it big time! We will certainly recommend it to everyone we know.

My wife and I spent a week at the cabin. The property exceed all expectations. The location was excellent as a starting point for near by sights and attractions, but at the same time was isolated and very private. The cabin was both cozy and romantic, yet had all the modern conveniences that anyone could want. In addition to enjoying the property we found it an excellent value. If you want suggestions on how you can improve the property or the experience, you'll have to ask other guests, we were completely satisfied! I can assure you that if we return to the Henderson-Ashville area we will want to rent the cabin again and have and will recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for sharing the cabin with us.

After arriving from the UK tired and frazzled .We found ourselves wallowing in the hot tub looking at the stars and taking in the sounds of the forest . We were absolutely bowled over by this beautful mountain retreat. The internet pictures do not do it justice. Tasteful and comfortably furnished,it has everything you can possibly need for your stay. The owner was helpful and when we mentioned that one of the outside lights was not working .The very next day somebody came up to fix it .W have rented many homes in The US and this was one of the best .A great base for seeing North Carolina although we were loathe to tear ourselves away. The sports room would be brilliant for children and young teenagers. Wonderful ! Cannot recommend it highly enough.

We had 8 people stay and a dog and had no problems with having enough space. The cabin is close to all attractions in the area: Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Asheville, Hendersonville, DuPont State Forest, etc... The owner was very cordial and helpful. The house was clean, very entertaining, and private. There is even a computer with internet access that you can use.

What a great cabin. It was exactly as described. Extremely well outfitted. There is even a supply of DVD's! My teenage boys loved it! The air-hockey and ping pong tables provided a great diversion on the one rainy day we had. The cabin is definitely away-from-it-all but within 30-60 minutes of tons of hiking trails . . . Chimney Rock, Pisgah Forest and DuPont State Forest. The hot tub is a great way to rejuvenate after a hike. The directions to the place were perfect. We only had one minor problem . . . animals were getting into the garbage left outside by the previous renters. Within minutes of calling to ask what we should do, the garbage was removed! I would definitely recommend this place to friends. Hope to make a return visit in the future. Recommended for: Pet-friendly, Families with Teenagers

My husband and I have stayed at Black 'Beary' Cabin twice within the past year or so. The first time was on our anniversary and we were thrilled with the accomodations!! The evenings under the stars soaking in the hot tub were so relaxing! The peaceful surroundings provided us with some much needed time together to reconnect and escape from the hectic schedule of work and parenthood. Our second visit to the cabin was with our two children and my parents, who came from Florida. Our girls had such a blast in the gameroom, thought the hot tub was the greatest thing in the world, and enjoyed roasting marshmellows in the outdoor fire pit. My parents also found the accomodations to be perfect for our family and it gave them the chance to enjoy spending time with me, my husband, and thier grandkids. We definately plan on another trip to this wonderful vacation home soon!!! We found the cabin to be much nicer that what we expected. Everything was very clean and the bed in the master bedroom had a feather bed feel to it. Very nice touch. The hot tub on the private deck was also a nice extra. Location is close to downtown Hendersonville, as well as, Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Easy to reach from I-26! Certainly will go back and would not hestiate to recommned this cabin to anyone looking for a vacation, or just a short getaway. Just can't say enough good things about it. I do have to say that the Black "Beary" Cabin was amazing! Everything you would need in a getaway was provided. I chose this property to propose to my Fiance during our weekend retreat. Oh, she said Yes! It was emaculate and well presented. I strongly recommend staying. I have already showed off pictures of my stay and have numerous people interested in staying at the Black "Beary" Cabin. The hot tub is a definite plus! We had a great time with late night Ping Pong and Air Hockey Tournaments. Very secluded away from city but not far away either. I definitely recommend the japanese restaurant "Umi", its located off Main St in Hendersonville. Great sushi! Cabin is close to Chimney Rock Park also! In conclusion my Fiance and I will never forget our time there. Thanks!

We just got back from "Black Beary" cabin and we had a terrific stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable (especially, the beds!) with all the aminities of home. Two other couples went with us and we always had something to do, or "NOT", if we so desired. Walking in the woods was so peaceful and who would have believed it would be so beautiful in December! We were fortunate to have snow (while in the hottub), which is something you really need to experience. The firepit was a great place to huddle together and be with friends. It was fun playing ping pong and air hockey in the game room. They even had board games! If I had to find a negative it would be that the grill is too small for a cabin that sleeps 10 people. The directions given by Mr. Singer were exact! We highly recommend a heavy duty truck or 4-wheel drive vehicle to go up the mountain. And on your way, make sure you stop in at Apple Annie's Cafe (Mon-Sat,6AM-2PM) at 3591 Chimney Rock Road in Hendersonville. Just make sure you tell Denise that those people from SC sent you! We will definitely go back to Black 'Beary' cabin, again.

The cabin was very nice, however, we recieved the wrong combo for the keys causing some extra aggravation. A little sign at the last turn would be great also since I drove in/out of somebody's driveway looking for the cabin (with my daughter/friend in it) after I had only been there once in the night. It is a very nice setting once you get back there. A great place for a small family gathering. Thanks for the nice weekend.

We stayed here just over a year ago and really wish we had went back for this years vacation. To say that is was beautiful, clean, relaxing, just what we were looking for, and an awesome location does not do it justice. It was a little slice of heaven. An incredible place to stay, that I would love to go back to. Everything about this place was perfect, except maybe the driveway. It is on the side of a mountain so that means everything must go up!

I rented this wonderful cabin last January as a surprise for my boyfriend's 50th birthday. We had some friends join in on the surprise and everyone thought the cabin was perfect! The main floor is very roomy as well as the upstairs bedrooms and the "game" room downstairs. I'd say the best feature is the hot tub out on the deck! It is very secluded yet not hard to get to. We loved it so much we are going back this year! (That's the true sign of how great it is!)

Richard, We are looking foward to another wonderful stay at you beautiful cabin. We are bringing family so they can experience the tranquility of your cabin. The location is great and there is a plethora of activities close by. Hendersonville is a great town with plenty of amenities. We loved Dupont State Forest and all the beautiful waterfalls. If you love taking pictures and hiking this is the place to be. Some places we can't wait to visit again are the Biltmore, Farmers Market, Lake Lure and Pisgah National Forest. Thank you again for your personal touch. Susan and Brian Fort Myers Florida
