The house was wonderful, pool is beautiful and the folks who own this place couldn't be better! They checked on us regularly and the staff working there attended to every need immediately. Everything was in great working order, clean and nice. Beds were very comfortable, bathrooms clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The owner helped us to find fun day trips and we had a great time. The location is great because it is near to so many beaches. One is walking distance. When we would drive the road every day we would see monkeys in the trees. In the tree next to the pool I saw parrots too. I can't say enough about this great place- I highly recommend it!

My family (wife, 4 kids 9 and under and parents) spent 4 nights and 5 days in the Red House in mid March. This was my 5th trip to Costa Rica and my first time at this resort/house. I definitely recommend this for anyone visiting the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. I have stayed at various resorts in Guanacaste in previous visits and prefer Villas La Paz based on price, accomodations, pool, seclusion and overall experience, we plan on returning in the future. Andres and the staff are very accomodating and keep the place in tip top shape. It's close to Conchal (one of the best beaches in CR) it is also a short drive to Parrot Beach which was an excellent beach for exploring, collecting shells and small crabs and seeing wildlife, our kids loved it. Our family really loved the accomodations it did feel like a home away from home. We are planning a return trip with many of our friends (kids free) in the near future. Tim - St. Louis, MO

We stayed at Villa La Paz 2/29-3/9. Everything about the property is absolutely beautiful. It is a little difficult to find, especially in the dark, but once we were there, it was soooo worth it. Andres and his staff and family work very hard to keep a very beautiful property and make sure that your time in C.R. is the best. My husband and I got married there and Andres and his mom organized the reception dinner. They even decorated the patio and tables with flowers! Everything was perfect and the dinner was one of the best meals we during our time there. Andres was a wonderful host and even took all of us "gringos" down to a local spot for surfing and tacos! We definitely want to visit again. Please do not hesitate to reserve one of their properties to have a fabulous time and place to stay.

This was our family's first trip to Costa Rica and we will definitely go back! The location of the house was a little out of the way, but oh, so very quiet and peaceful. The house is within walking distance to beautiful Playa Conchal and a short drive to several other beaches. We did some pretty extensive exploring and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was adequately equipped and clean; the pool was clean and well kept; the gardens also meticulously kept. The groundskeeper and maid were so very attentive and kind. Great place! Highly recommended!

I have traveled to many of the beaches of Costa Rica and have not found such a beautiful location. This hotel is located minutes away from the most pristine beaches in Costa Rica. The hotel is clean, well taken care of, and the staff are quite helpful. Overall the crowd at the hotel was a mix of different nationalities and world travelers. You are treated well and the staff is more than happy to help you find what need. Great job. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful destination for the slightly adventurous--especially those seeking beach time, relaxation, and the occasional surfing excursions. Andres, our genial host, managed to keep us entertained and informed as he pointed out some of his favorites:low-key, un-touristy restaurants a short hop away in the Tico fishing village of Brasilito; great surf instructors for novices; and virtually deserted stretches of beaches. The staff at the Casa, including a cook recommended by Andres, were friendly and helpful--ensuring that our family of four enjoyed a relaxing taste of stunning Costa Rica. Visitors with some Spanish-speaking abilities will find fluency helps in communicating with residents in the small town of Matapalo, a short drive away over sometimes washboard roads. While we heard--but never saw--the howler monkeys, and were relieved that the supposed pumas never materialized, there is more to explore, and we hope to make a return visit.

This little hotel was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy my vacations! I have been there 3 times now and I've had a great experience each time. There is so much to do in the surrounding areas and great beaches in every direction! It'd be the ideal place for a big or small family, or even just as a romantic getaway with your partner, spouse, etc. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) Thank you for such a great time!

This was my first visit to Costa Rica but it will be my last. What a lovely place to stay. If you want quiet beaches to walk on and a comfortable place to stay “Playa Conchal” has it. The photos don’t show you how beautiful the place actually is. The wildlife was everywhere from monkeys, iguanas, turtles and colorful birds. Andes was a very helpful and informative host.

This was my third visit to Villas La Paz at Playa Conchal and each trip just gets better. The staff does an excellent job with the rooms and grounds. The family is doing an excellent job adding new attractions. The kayaks were an unexpected treat. Exploring the hiking trails, located right outside the property gates, leads to some beautiful settings. We saw two turtles on Playa Minas within 15 minutes walking distance of the house. Andres does an excellent job arranging tours and even went as far as to give surf lessons. I would highly recommend the tour to Rincon and the waterfall. The photos of the listing cannot do justice to the beauty of the property and surrounding area. I already have my reservation for next year.

This is the real Costa Rica experience. Quiet, except for the abundant wildlife, comfortable surroundings and great hosts. Hiking is amazing with secluded beaches to wind swept rocky points and tropical forests within easy walks. Swimming, body surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking and beach combing within a short walk. Horseback riding or four wheeling tours are available too. Playa Grande, a world class surfing beach is within a short drive. We did all these and more. The accommodations have full kitchens so you can stock up at the local markets or go to any of the great restaurants in the area. I can't say enough good things about this place. I expect to make many more visits here in the future.

I have to say I was very, very impressed!! It was by far one of the best places to stay at and one of the best experiences of my life. I have traveled all over Costa Rica and stayed in several places however none of them were fit to hold a candle to until I found these houses. Location is a killer: You just can't beat the location. You are in walking distance from the beaches, you can see monkey's, go scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. The place is so peaceful and grounds where the houses are located is completely covered in beautiful trees. They have a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. The place is simply amazing! Rooms are amazing: They have satellite TV, full kitchen (with sink, full size fridge, full size stove, full set of silverware), they have hammocks, porch desk, great beds, remote control AC, etc. The place is just loaded. It is the one place that could be compared to Paradise Island! Simply amazing. Everyone I brought with me on these trips was super, super impressed with the location and the entire stay. If you are taking a trip within Costa Rica, then I must say that this must be on your list!! It is by far the most attractive place I have ever visited in the country. Needless to say, I have been there 5 times already and planning my next trip!

What a perfect get-a-way from the hustle and bustle of busy city life! You are in the heart of the "dry" rain forest with luscious jungle and beautiful beaches! I highly recommend it for those who want to get away to a tropical paradise!

Our group of 3 had every convenience we wanted. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to everyone. The rooms were nice, there is a full kitchen, a wonderful lanai, a beautiful pool, great surroundings and it is close to the beach. Andres was an excellent host.

I live in Costa Rica and I've been to a lot of places here, but I do have to say that this place is located in one of the most coolest and beautiful regions in Guanacaste. Many nice beaches nearby yet the house is away and quiet. 100% recommended and the service is great!

5 of us stayed in Conchal for a week in December. Andres and I had been in touch regularly leading up to the trip, and I had a very good feeling about our stay. Our 3 friends arrived the day before we did, and they were shown our home. When we got the the next day, we were amazed at how beautiful the place was. We stayed in the 3 bedroom house, which could have slept about 10 comfortably. The only time we spent inside was to sleep, as our living area was outside on a patio with a hamic, kitchen, fridge, some chairs, and a table. We were steps away from the pool, about a 3 minute drive to 2 nice, secluded, local beaches. Andres' cleaning staff came by each day to see if we needed anything cleaned or changed. I was so pleased at how nice and laid back everyone was. Andres came up and joined us on our patio for some drinks one night, and we got to know him pretty well! For wildlife lovers, the house was pretty much nestled in the trees! We saw large iguanas climbing trees and beautiful birds flying around. One of my favorite memories of the entire trip was waking up early one morning, and going up by the Condor restaurant to watch the sun rise and listening to the howler monkeys. Just beautiful! I am definitely recommending this place to any friends who might find themselves in the Guanacaste region. Please feel free to email me as a reference!

Andres and his family were great. The house is very close to the beach, and the rooms were very comfortable. Andres provided detailed directions to local eateries and activities. We can't wait to revisit!

We spent 9 wonderful days here last month and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our four children enjoyed the pool, the birds, the lizards, and the local beaches. We also enjoyed the seclusion of the property and its local access to beaches. Andres went out of his way to make us comfortable and even took us on a local tour. We're already planning our next visit. This place is a hidden gem!
