PEACE AND PLENTY, our family's lakeside cottage is closed for the season. The lake water level has dropped really low and we have no water in our boathouse and it is a long way to the beach. -- Large sun dappled yard with tranquil lake views, shaded by mature trees in highly desirable subdivision, on the west side of Cedar Creek lake, less than 60 miles from Dallas and a short drive to Canton Trade Days.
Master Bedroom features king size bed, the second bedroom has a queen size bed and the air conditioned sleeping porch has a bunk bed with full size bed on the bottom and twin size bed on the top. Fully equipped country kitchen has granite counter-tops and marble back splash - serving/dining bar opening to the spacious Family Room. The family room offers wood burning fireplace and has a queen size sofa bed (allowing this house to sleep 9 comfortably). The pine cabinet stores games, puzzles, family and children videos and music from classical to Jimmy Buffett and of course, crayons and coloring books. The master bath situated between the two bedrooms has a whirlpool tub for TWO. The downstairs "Locker Room" houses the second bath, washer/dryer, ice cream freeze, huge electric griddle, party size coffee urn, large table for serving outdoors, air pumps for filling blow up toys and rafts, misc. kids' life jackets, and various and sundry items to make your lake stay comfortable.
There is a large outdoor gas grill for your use.
The wicker filled screened porch is my favorite room and where we dine most of the time. The screened porch has two ceiling fans (There are ceiling fans in every room of the house and five tons of air conditioning.) Entertaining is great in this cottage with a welcoming patio at the front door featuring an umbrella, table and four chairs, bench and a chimenea and hummingbird feeders. The grilling patio with smoker grill under the screened porch has a small table and four chairs and old fashioned swing. The boathouse party deck with twinkling rope lights at night is a perfect place to fish (fishing poles ready at the dock for your use), entertain or just catch turtles or enjoy the second chimanea. There is an abundance of off-street parking for your guests on the long double driveway. No parking on the grass, please. What weekend would be complete without s'mores and we have a campfire area and plenty of skewers for that purpose. Tether ball and a Croquet set are ready for more outdoor fun. The sights and sounds of the season are definitely in the air, so come settle into a comfortable chair overlooking the lake and watch the world go by. If you just need to "run away from home" for a couple of days Peace and Plenty Cottage may be whispering your name!
Help yourself to the many paperbacks and magazines but please leave the children's books. There are bird books, one pair of binoculars, two telescopes, a poker table and scrap booking supplies.
Near-by you will find bowling, a new amusment park, VFW Hall, boat ramps, fishing bait, full service marina, bingo, grocery store, square dancing, ballroom dancing, first run movie theater, golf and more. ( King's Creek Golf Club 903-498-8888, an 18 hole golf club; located just off Hwy. 274, close to the cottage
We love our little cottage and we want you to think of it as YOURS when you are here. So come on down to the lake and do whatever "floats your boat"! Following their four years living on a sail boat in the Caribbean they started spending more time at the cottage they learned to call "Peace and Plenty". They are now sharing this water front cottage with their quests. We had an awesome time at the lake house! We also enjoyed the s'mores that you provided! Thank you so much!We had everything that we needed while we were there. Everything was clean and well maintained. My husband loved your new grill and wants to get one for himself! Honestly we don't have a single complaint! My brother and his family also really enjoyed staying there. The kids had a blast and didn't have a moment of boredom! I look forward to renting again in the near future! CC

Plenty of Peace for sure! We truly enjoyed our stay at your adorable home. It was the perfect setting for us all to regroup and reconnect as family. Two of our favorite spots on the property were the screened in porch upstairs and the party deck - although it's hard to pick a favorite. Thank you Sam and Carolyn for opening up your precious home to us. All of us (6 adults/4 children) were safe, comfortable and not bored for one second. A memorable stay that will not soon be forgotten!
