Owner's Profile
Owner Description
My Grandparents were true Alaskan Pioneers! My Grandfather, a Welshman with an adventuress spirit, traveled to the Klondike in 1898 in search of gold. They later settled in Seldovia, Alaska where my Mother and I were born. We moved to Homer a couple years after the Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964.
I have lived in Homer for almost 45 years and have enjoyed every moment of it.
My husband and I built our log home almost 34 years ago, which sits adjacent to our guest house.
Why the Owner Chose Homer
We built our guest house for my mother in law who lived in White Sulphur Springs, Montana. After a few health issues she wanted to be closer to her children and grandchildren in her old age.
She loved living her last few years in her little cottage watching the wildlife, flowers and sunsets and Mother Nature at it's finest.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
We appreciate Homer visitors enjoying all the bounty and beauty that Kachemak Bay and surrounding areas have to offer. Every day is different, every sunset, sunrise, the color of the sky, clouds...just a never ending pallet of life in Homer by the sea!

The photos and description heardly do this slice of heaven justice. We arrived late at night and found milk, eggs and a freshly baked dessert waiting for us. We awoke the next day to see a gorgeous yard, great views, and were able to meet the most hospitable and sweet people, the owners. Never did we expect to have such gracious hosts and such a nice vacation home for such a great value. If you are looking to stay in the Homer area, THIS is the place to be!

We stayed with a party of six adults and had lots of room. We felt very welcomed by Bobby, he is a super nice guy. Lyni had made us a delicious cake and left juice and milk in the fridge for us. The house is full of cool artifacts to look at and the grounds are manicured with lots of beautiful flowers. We would have liked to stay longer! I highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful weekend in Homer at Lyni and Bobby's beautiful cottage! They were fabulous hosts, and our accommodations were very comfortable. Love the flowers and garden outside, and the expansive lawn was a great place for our two kids to play. We would definitely stay here again!

This is simply the best VRBO experience we have had. The Borland's were warm and hospitable and ensured our comfortable stay at this cute house. The house is done up very nicely with original antiques. It is large enough to accommodate 5-6 adults and kids. The views of the mountains are simply fantastic (though you will have to walk/drive a short distance). If you are in the Homer area, I recommend you check out Bryn-Teg cottage.

My family of four stayed here in June of 2009. The cottage was wonderful and met all of our needs on a 10 day stay in Homer. Both Bobby and Lyni, the owners of the cottage, were very hospitable, and Lyni's zucchini cake was delicious! Very comfortable accomodations. We hope to be back to Bryn-Teg for another visit as soon as we can afford to get back to Homer!
