This beautiful log cabin rental, named for its incredible view of Grandfather Mountain, is located in an upscale neighborhood on a one acre tract that still affords privacy and wooded grounds. Everything about this house is the best - from the mountain stone fireplaces, Orvis furniture, beautiful linens and hand made quilts, to the outside hot tub on the lower deck, hand-carved rocking chairs on the upper deck, or stone patio with outdoor fireplace.
The living room of this log and chink cabin offers warm and cozy decor with rustic yet elegant furniture. Imagine cuddling on the wrap-around sofa in front of the 30 foot hand stacked stone fireplace with a real wood fire crackling away. The open floor plan with cathedral ceiling also includes the dining room with seating for eight and convenient kitchen for meal preparation - the entire layout is conducive to family interaction. The master bedroom is on this level as well, with queen bed and bath with whirlpool tub, and the living room has a queen sleeper for extra guests.
If you prefer more action go downstairs to the game room with bumper pool table, satellite television with Gamecube, and gas fireplace. The second bedroom is on this floor, and features both a queen and twin bed. There is also another full bath. The highlight of this level, however, is right outside on the lower deck – a cozy hot tub perfect for enjoying the view of Grandfather Mountain.
Upstairs you will find the third bedroom with king bed, loft with two twins, and third full bath with convenient step-in shower. Just as with all the other bedrooms in this cabin, these feature comfortable pillow-top mattresses and authentic mountain quilts. The bedrooms also feature large double windows to enjoy the view.
The upper deck is equally wonderful with its hand-carved rocking chairs, and outdoor dining. Grandfather View has all the amenities and is complemented by rich hardwood floors and pine cathedral ceilings, and a lovely stone patio with large outdoor fireplace. The neighborhood is quiet and private with nearby waterfall, trails and many places to enjoy an evening stroll. Best of all, it’s convenient central location is less than ten minutes to either Boone, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk!
Grandfather View has paved access for all but the last half mile – 4WD is necessary in winter. This is a dog-friendly home, with fenced area.
Please remember 4WD and/or chains are always recommended when visiting the mountains in winter.

Why the Owner Chose Boone
We love the location of our cabin as you are close to a variety of activities. Five miles from Grandfather Mountain, and 8 1/2 miles from downtown Boone. Hawksnest snow tubing is a short 3 miles, Sugar Mountain 9 miles, and Ski Beech only 15 miles. We are also a close 15 miles to historical Valle Crucis, home of the original Mast General Store.
The Unique Benefits of this Log Cabin
Our cabin is in a development with a few neighbors that live there year round which gives it a safe and secure feeling; yet it also has the feeling of being quite and secluded. We are just off Hwy 105 in a quaint little town called Foscoe.

Spring Baseball Fever, March 26, 2008 Our son played against ASU this weekend and what a great getaway from the normal hotel room. Kitchen remarkably stocked, well done! Very clean!! Two things we would change; Hot tub could have been warmer, 104 not hot enough. Need dvd in living room. Oh by the way, UNCG swept the mountain men. Go Spartans

All of us really enjoyed the cabin this last weekend. Everyone did a great job in preparing it for us. Hot tub and fireplace were definite hits as well as the large TV in the living room and the Internet access. The fully equipped kitchen was especially appreciated and allowed our extended family to enjoy an early home cooked Thanksgiving feast together.
