OK value but mildew odor in kitchen and living room furniture needs replaced

My wife and I were very happy with the location of this property but disappointed by the mold or mildew odor in the kitchen area. The property appeared clean and well maintained, so I suspect they may have battled a water line or roof leak in the recent past. Too bad, as the owner should have been aware and addressed this issue. The living room furniture also needs to be retired. If the odor and furniture were addressed, my recommendation would be four stars as the price and location were excellent. Convenient home base for your Door County tour, a large master suite, and plenty of room for children to roam. Situated on a quiet street, the neighborhood made for peaceful evening walks.
Owner response:We are sorry to hear about your stay. This is new to us as we have had renters in this property for over 5 years and have not heard of this "odor". This would have been helpful to know last year during the stay to correct the issue. We have not had any negative feed back on this property in 5 years. Most of our comments from renters have been about how nice it was for $750 a week during peak season and what a great location. We manage over 80 rentals and are a little weary of comments made a year later. We will go and check this out, but have had two sets of guests already this year and have not heard or noticed the odor. Thank you for the input and we will look further into these issues and settle them if need be.
