Dos Palmas, a beautiful hacienda style villa welcomes you to the Caribbean via panoramic views of the turquoise sea and cool ocean breezes! Dos Palmas is a deluxe four bedroom (possible 5 bedrooms), four and half bath villa located ocean front, just a three minute walk from Akumal’s center.
Exterior: Approaching Dos Palmas you are drawn to the gorgeous green of lush gardens, creating the feel of a secret retreat just beyond. Dos Palmas enjoys the privacy of tropical gardens on the entry side and the unforgettable views on the ocean side.
The alluring tiled swimming pool and Jacuzzi are located on the garden side of the property, keeping the swimming pool sheltered and water warm and comfortable. The poolside patio is furnished with dining table and chairs and chaise lounges for everyone. A nice pergola provides a shaded area for guests as well. The many outdoor spaces create serenity you'll cherish– the pool/whirlpool, outdoor shower, patio & terraces, gardens and lawn, Mayan sculpture and naturalistic coral garden, both poolside and seaside dining areas, and a rooftop observatory with 360 degree viewing of ocean, jungle, lagoon, sunrises and sunsets, and the stars.
General Layout: Dos Palmas offers 4,000 square feet of living space over two levels. The principal entry from the poolside patio area leads you to the dining area with seating for 8. Just beyond the dining area is the main sitting and conversation area with an incredible view of the ocean and sliding glass doors lead you to the seaside patio area with dining table and other furnishings. Overhead a 50 ft high cathedral ceiling ascends two stories to a magnificent traditional Hacienda style brick dome for ocean breezes to circulate freely throughout the villa. Mexican and Mayan culture are highlighted throughout Dos Palmas by way of vivid and lively colors, traditional furnishings and hand painted talavera tiles in the bathrooms and accent areas. To the left of the dining area is the fully functional and well equipped kitchen which includes a dishwasher. Kitchen windows look out over the pool, patios and garden.
All bedrooms have ocean views with glass sliders to a patio. There are two master suites; one on the second and one on the first level, both furnished with a king bed. The masters are air conditioned and have private en suite baths. Two guest bedrooms; again one on the second level and one on the first level, are furnished with two double beds each and air conditioned. The guest bedroom on the first level has a private bath and the upper guest bedroom shares a bath with the media room. The media room on the upper level is furnished with a large futon and sofa sleeper. The room is air conditioned with jungle and garden views. Here you will find the television w/ satellite channels, DVD Player and library.

Perfect place for a family retreat

The property provided our family of 10 (6 adults/4 children) plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors during the day and comfortably sleep at night. The children enjoyed the wildlife on the property including hermit crabs and iguanas. The house and property are very clean and well maintained. The caretakers, Ester and Rigo, are so kind and accommodating. Their authentic Mexican dishes are amazing. The best food available in Akumal...the nearby restaurants don't even compare. The house and property are beautiful but Ester and Rigo are truly the highlight. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family along with snorkeling in Akumal Bay (5 minute walk). The marine life is surprisingly diverse for such a highly visited area.
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

I agree with everything said below. It was a wonderful vacation and we loved the area! So much to do and see. Thank you for all of your input prior to the trip. It really did help us decide where to go and eat. The house, Esther and Rigo were all great. I would definitely recommend Casa Dos Palmas to anyone wanting to travel to that area.

We really had a wonderful time at Casa Dos Palmas. It was clean and well kept and comfortable and of course Ester and Rigo were so nice. The food was phenomenal! We loved Akumal, our children loved the freedom of walking to the bakery or the little shops on their own and we were perfectly located for all of our expeditions from Tulum to Cobá to X-Plor and Xel-Ha. We really appreciate all the information and guidance you gave us prior to the trip. It definitely enhanced our experience to know where to go and what we should see and also have the descriptions of restaurants and beaches nearby. Thank you for everything!

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Dos Palmas. It's a beautiful home, and the caretakers, Esther and Rigo, were so friendly and helpful. If you go, be sure and have them cook an authentic Yucatan meal for you!

We had a wonderful vacation and would recommend Casa Dos Palmas to anyone. We have been to Akumal many times but this was the first time with our three adult children and their spouses. It was also the first time staying in a villa and we may be spoiled for future trips. Esther and Rigo were so nice, they took very good care of us, the fresh orange juice in the morning and salsa and chips in the afternoon is really a nice touch. We will always remember this special vacation.

My family absolutely loved Akumal and Casa Dos Palmas!! The home was even more beautiful than in pictures and absolutely immaculate. Ester and Rigo were SUCH a luxury to have on site - fresh squeezed juice and coffee in the mornings, pool maintenance, fresh drinking water in each bathroom to use to brush our teeth - they took care of everything! Our only regret was that we waited until the end of the week to have Ester cook!! The area was so quaint and safe, and we LOVED La Buena Vida restaurant and bar only a short walk away. We are all frequent travellers and have been to and stayed in some amazing places, but Dos Palmas and Akumal is now one of our favorites! 5 STARS all the way around!!

We just returned home from a week long stay in paradise. The Casa Dos Palmas was fabulous! There were nine adults in our party and we all stayed very comfortably. It is a beautifully appointed home right on the ocean. Terrific views on the oceanside with cool breezes - perfect for sunbathing. Great space for socializing out back around the pool. Would highly recommend the home to anyone wishing to have a private vacation with family or friends. Will definitely return. Esther & Rigio - the caretakers - were wonderful and prepared us some amazing meals at a reasonable price.
