On a hillside setting on a very private acre with spectacular mountain and sea views, this lovely two bedroom chalet-style cottage is comfortably furnished providing a just like home feeling. 1000 square feet "Tuatha Murtagh" provides breathtaking views of gardens, mountains and sea shores.
Ground floor features a large living room with open fire, writing desk, table for cards or dinner and convertible sofa, the center hallway leads to full bath with shower, a farmhouse-style kitchen/dining room with antique Irish Pine furniture and sliding glass door to patio and side yard. Kitchen appliances include gas stove with broiler and oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer and tumble dryer. The electric coffee maker and kettle make your coffee and tea service quick and easy.
Stairs to second floor lead to two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with twin beds(can form king size bed) each with patio doors to balconies. There is a full bath with tub and linen closet with extra linens as needed.
Utilities include electricity and full gas central heating as well as local phone service and intenet access.

Our family of 4 stayed here the last week of July 2011. We found it to be perfect for us. The property isnt more than 1 mile from town. But, it is up high enough for a lovely view, distanced enough from the neighbors to not feel uncomfortable with our boisterous children outdoors. Both bedrooms have a small balcony. The kitchen contains plenty of supplies for cooking. One bathroom has a shower & one a tub. The house was spacious, & included a working living room fireplace. The lady to call if you have questions was very attentive and helpful. Enjoyed the experience very much. Would recommend to others!

We spent a bit over 2 weeks at Tuatha Murtagh in late January 2010 - not your typical tourist season! Since this was our 5th visit to Ireland and we had been to the area before, we did not take in the typical tourist sights. The house was clean and very well maintained. The caretaker lives just down the road and we got to know her and some other the other neighbors while we were there - not because we needed to but just because they were so friendly. The scenery in the area (Ring of Kerry and the Beara Peninsula plus Killarney National Park) are well known and should be on everyone's itinerary. However, we also got to explore some of the out-of-the-way sites nearby the house. We loved hiking in Gleninchaquin Park, Dromore Woods, hike to Lake Dromaghty right from the house, and Dromanassig Falls. If you like to hike, make sure you check out the walking guide available at the house (along with literally dozens of other wonderful brochures about various local sites and activities). We would highly recommend this cottage (it really is more of a regular house - very large kitchen and wonderful living room with a beautiful fireplace). Having wireless Internet and TV with DVDs and videos make it even more inviting after a long day of hiking or touring. There is a relatively new Super Valu just past the church in town but the town also boasts a number of very good restaurants.

I couldn't have asked for a better place! I felt at home in this darling little cottage. Being just a few minutes away from the lovely town of Kenmare, shopping and dining were close at hand. It was also about 20 minutes from the Ring of Kerry, offering plenty of breathtaking scenery and coastlines. The home's furnishings were great- everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need for cooking, and there were plenty of extra linens. Waking up to the incredible view of the bay was wonderful- it never grew old! I would HIGHLY recommend this home away from home to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. I cannot wait to stay at Tuatha Murtagh again soon!
