I wanted to thank you for letting us stay at your home. It was a fantastic experience. You have a real gem on the mountain. My friend Martin, his wife and my wife have decided they never want to go anywhere else.

If you are loking for a home feeling on the mountain, and not a Hotel or Condo type experience, this is an excellent choice. I have been to several Colorado resorts, and this is the best house yet. Although not really Ski In/Ski Out unless you are an experienced skier (Snowboarding through the trees is practically impossible), it is nevertheless the most comfortable house I've stayed in. Given there are only really two levels, and yet plenty of space, it feels like a home. Views out the living room are phenomenal. Great fire places, ample kitchen, great bathrooms (master with Steam), Hot Tub an absolute must apres ski. Definitely recommend it.

My wife and I took our 3 kids to Telluride and rented this fabulous home. The 2 master suites are extraordinarly comfortable and the 3 kids had plenty of room in the downstairs bed rooms as well as the bed room in the loft where they watched TV and played pool. Great living space with TV and gas fire. The kitchen flows into the living space and has everything you need to prepare gourmet meals. The only thing better than this beautiful wood and stone interior is the view of the snow covered mountains. Great hot tub on the deck that was very very clean and we soaked up the views from the hot tub after a great day of skiing. Easy access to the slopes and the Free Ride service to the village was quick and curtious. I highly recommend this home if you are headed to Telluride.

Owner response: We appreciate that our home is also loved by our guests.it suits both adults and children.

Beautiful house. Wonderfully maintained. All one could ask for. We had a blast. Very close to the gondola. No need for a car once you get there. Grocery store next to the gondola. Very convenient. Thanks again John and Catherine.

This home is well-built and designed for groups travelling together who also want privacy. Both master suites have views of the mountains. Once we found the supply of linens (linens & towels for ALL beds and bathrooms are in the large linen closet downstairs) we had plenty of towels. One issue: the misunderstanding about who was to supply our toiletries & paper goods. Because there were some there to start with, we assumed they would be replenished as needed. As it turned out, it was not the responsibility of the maintenance company to bring us shampoo, toilet paper, etc., as we had experienced with other property companies in Telluride. That was fine with us, but would have been good to know ahead of time. It would have been much more economical to purchase supplies before we left home. Another issue: the sheets on one of the king beds didn't seem clean so we had to wash them & put them back on (hadn't found the downstairs linen closet at that point, which had clean sheets in it). This was a disappointing start to our trip, but things got better as the trip went on. There is a fireplace in one of the master bedrooms & one in the family room-something we Texans could never enjoy in August! The back deck is perfect, despite the fact that a monstrous condominium complex (still being built) is right below it. It hasn't stolen the view of the mountains, but feels a bit "in your face" & has hidden the land below the mountains. It is still being built which was quite noisy when we'd be sitting on the deck. Should be finished soon. It also hides the gondola, which is a fairly short walk away, and mostly downhill. The walk back is uphill but our hearts are healthier because of it. We are in our early 50's and could handle the walk, even carrying groceries. During ski season this house might be ski-in/out but there would be a short walk thru the woods. It really is a great location. All in all we had a terrific time fishing (you have to drive to fish, or you can fish in the town of Telluride by way of the gondola) and hiking. We also took a hair-raising jeep tour of Black Bear Pass. Very fun. The owners have been in contact with us and have apologized for the misunderstandings and sheets not being clean. They will probably request the maintenance company wash them twice next time! Although we tried not to use any of their pantry items, they were very kind about us using some of them. They're hospitable owners who are happy to make their guests feel at home.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: we apologise that our housekeepers did not put out the toiletries that we make available for all guests. In relation to paper products, we do provide a supply of toilet paper, tissues and paper towel that we thought would be a sufficient supply. In general we find that our guests simply buy more of what they need at the market if they run out. We leave condiments, spices and many pantry items on the same basis. We are surprised about the comment concerning the master bed linen as we changed all the beds ourselves on the morning of arrival and freshly laundered sheets and pillow cases were used so no apology was necessary or given. We would NEVER have guests arrive to our home with dirty linen on the beds. We put 4 towels in each bathroom and extra towels in the bathroom vanities. The linen cupboard downstairs is easy to find and contains more towels and masses of linen for the beds if guests wish to change them during their stay. We also have a full laundry that allows guests to wash during their stay. The condo building below us was completed 2 years ago and our location is very quiet and peaceful. The photos on our listing of our view of the San Sophia Ridgeline have all been taken recently and the building below us does not detract from our magnificent view. Activies including hiking, biking and walking in the Rockies are always a challenge initially because of the altitude(almost 10,000 feet where our home is located) but Dial A Ride provides a free taxi service to and from the home to anywhere in Mountain Village including the supermarket and the gondola if the short walk is too challenging.

We stayed 5 days in late June to attend the Bluegrass festival -- the location*, views, amenities and luxury of the entire property was outstanding. It was roomy for 7 adults -- we're hoping to return w our little one next year. The photos make it look nice -- but it is really great, a real value during the summer. So much to do in town via free gondola, and nearer/walkable/bike-able on the mountain. Everyone who joined us loved the property and had a wonderful time. **One tip: During the summer there is a short-cut down the mountain to the gondola that makes it a 3-5 minute walk w stairs, versus about 10-15 on the road-- if you make friends with the neighbors, they'll let help you find it -- I can't imagine that it would work in the winter though (or late at night) ;-)

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: the " short cut" path at the rear of Eureka is usually easy to locate in summer and can be walked of an evening if you take a torch.Better still just ring Dial a Ride for a free ride home to or from the Gondola at Town Hall.In winter the path is snow covered of course but serves as ski access to the Double Cabins ski trail as long as you are not a real novice. We aim to offer our guests affordable luxury in one of the world's greatest summer and winter mountain resort towns.

We loved our stay at "Eureka". It was a truly wonderful vacation for our family. Our 2 kids (10 & 8) loved the Gondola ride. We did also. It was such a convenient way to get around the area. We would take the Gondola to various locations and hike from there. We rarely used our car. The Gondola system is a free transportation system like no other we have experienced (and it is within a 5 minute walk from the house-- just take the trail (to the right) behind the house to get there). The views are amazing from the Gondola and from the house itself. The house had all the luxuries that someone could possibly want. A food market was just a 5 minute walk away also. One tip I would have about the market, is that if you are driving to this house, buy bottled water ahead of time. A 24 pack of Aquafina at the market was $10....which is double what we pay at home. The other prices at the market were reasonable. We would definitely stay at "Eureka" again if we visit the Mountain Village/Telluride Area. John and Catherine were excellent hosts. They will provide all the information that you could need and more. Thanks for a great house to stay in on our vacation! The Barry's

Owner response: we love to share our home with kind people that enjoy it and Telluride as much as we do.

As frequent and long term travellers to Telluride from Australia (we have been coming since 1992!) we have recently discovered the charm and luxury of Eureka! With four super-luxury bedrooms each with ensuite, the home easily accommodates 4 couples in absolute comfort. We ski out onto "double cabin" in the morning from the garage and it is just a short walk or (even better) dial-a-ride home. The kitchen facilities are second-to-none and the supreme experience of sitting in the hot tub in the late afternoon while watching in awe as the sun sets on the majestic San Juan mountains will stay in your fond memories forever. We come back every year!

Thank you Eureka for delivering another fantastic holiday, we have greatly enjoyed our second stay in this fabulous house. We have been impressed that our satisfaction level with the standards of this superb 'home away from home' have been even higher this second time around. Eureka delivers a combination of high quality accommodation with abundant natural beauty to ensure a perfect holiday experience. The owners have anticipated every need and have delivered on every promise. We found everything that we could possibly want for a memorable holiday - a cosy fire and luxury lounge, 4 magnificent bedrooms (each with private facilities), a wide balcony with hot tub, an upstairs pool room and a fantastic kitchen. There are also some quiet hide-away corners for relaxed living. The large picture windows in the house ensure that the panoramic views of snow covered mountain tops virtually come 'inside' the living areas. The fantastic location of the house guarantees year round enjoyment of everything that Telluride has to offer. For winter there is the convenience of a ski-in/ski-out connection onto the slopes and for summer there are easy walking pathways connecting directly to mountain trails. . Not only do we enthusiastically recommend Eureka to our friends and others, I know that we would not consider staying anywhere else in Telluride when we return.

We stayed over the New Year at Eureka house. The house is very spacious, comfortably accomodating 4 couples and few singles. Interior is functional and cosy with exposed wooden beams and couple of fireplaces. I don't think pictures on this website do it justice. Views of the mountain chain from the house and deck (and hot tub) are simply amazing. Ski-in/out is easy for a decent skier and for novices it is just a short walk through the woods. Overall, I would highly recommend the place. P.S. I'm pretty spoiled with good accomodations after skiing at all major US ski resorts so speak from experience.

Owner response: we know what you mean about our photos.at least our guests always get more than they expect.

This place blew our socks off. Best place we ever rented for skiing. A. Location - Simply great. We parked our cars and forgot about them. It is just a short walk to a ski trail. The gondola station is near by, and a supermarket is right next to it. B. House - It was clean and well furnished. Kitchen was the best of them all. A bath tub and a grill are on a huge outdoor deck. Bedrooms, closets, laundry room, bathrooms, etc... all you need. C. Panoramic view out of the main window - You have go and see it for yourself. You won't be disappointed. We enjoyed the place. It has everything and provides much needed comfort, so one can save all energy for skiing or whatever else Telluride has in store for adventurers. Actually, I caught myself thinking about how'd be to stay there in the summer... Great place.

Eureka is a fantastic vacation home. It is perfectly situated for an easy ski-on and also for a trip to the very well stocked supermarket in Mountain Village. Dial-a-Ride provides additional lifts to and from destinations. The house is roomy but cozy, has gorgeous views, is incredibly well stocked with all the comforts of home. The owners have anticipated your every need and made it so easy and enjoyable to be their guests. Telluride is an ideal mountain for the serious skier and those who prefer to stay on the easier groomed runs. It is rarely crowded and has the shops and restaurants in Mountain Village as well as those in the very western town of Telluride. All these features make EUREKA a perfect choice for a family or friends vacation. With each bedroom having its own bath, you are assured complete privacy and comfort. I feel very lucky every time I get to go to enjoy Eureka with my dear friends. I think you will too!

We spent 2 weeks at Eureka in January 2011, what a truley wonderful place to holiday. The house is beautifully appointed with everything you need for a family stay. The view of the San Juans from the living area is simply stunning and the bedrooms spacious and private with seperate bathrooms for each of the 4 bedrooms. The location is great for access to the slopes with direct access from the garage to the slopes and only a short walk home along a flat road at the end of the day. The outdoors spa is the icing on the cake and was a great way to end a long day on the slopes. The property is also really conveniently located to the supermarket and gondola making acess to and from the house very simple. All in all we would have absolutely no hesitation in holidaying there again and actually would happily winter there everyyear as the house, mountain and town is a truly magical combination. We stayed for over a week at Eureka with 4 adults and 6 children very comfortably. We have stayed at many resorts throughout the USA (Smowmass, Beaver Creek, Squaw Valley, Killington, Okemo, etc.) and we have to say that our stay at Telluride in Eureka was our favorite. I have heard the best way to describe Telluride is like going to Beaver Creek and Breckenridge in one. You get the old western town (the town of Telluride) along with the new resort town (Mountain Village). I wish I had not rented the car the entire week because we barely used it due to the town shuttle and Gondola taking us everywhere. There is a great premium grocery store near the house for all your food and beverage needs along with several high class and normal restaurants just a fun Gondola ride away. The Hot tub and the deck overlooking the mountains was a welcomed sight at the end of each ski day as well. This house has it all. We truly hope that we can return one day to Eureka!

Look no further!!!!...This luxurious 4 bedroom - 4.5 bath mountain home captivates every comfort of home with the elegance of a Hotel. From the moment you enter this magnificent luxury home your breath will be taken away by the spectacular views of the San Sofia mountains from every room. The jacuzzi on the deck will beckon you after a long hard day skiing!!! The location of "Eureka" is perfect!! You can ski out to a great warm up run with only a very short return walk at the end of the day. "Eureka" is just a 5 minute walk to a wonderful grocery/liquor shop and the Gondola which accesses all the fabulous Restaurants, Bars, Cafes and shopping. The Gondola connects the Mountain Village with the town of Telluride and operates till midnight, so after an evening out at great restaurant and a return ride on the Gondola taking in the pretty lights, you can dial a free ride back to "Eureka". Everything is so convenient!! I know you are going to love this wonderful first class ski resort staying at "Eureka". I can't wait to return there in February 2012 with friends!!

We returned for a 2nd stay at Eureka during the ski season as we loved it so much. This is a place that just works as it just feels like home, and a very special one at that. After a beautiful day out we just loved going home. The jacuzzi on the balcony was divine day and night. The couches were so inviting for lazing about listening to music or catching up with one's reading, or just looking out at that gorgeous scenery. The storage facilities were excellent. And the beds... aah.... so comfortable. One always holds one's breath with holiday beds. Everything one might need is there, and works so well, and was perfectly maintained. We are fussy cooks and usually find other people's kitchens challenging. But this kitchen was a dream. All the utensils, appliances, saucepans and platters that we needed were there. It was in fact so lovely to cook at home, that we ate out at night much less than we anticipated. When we did want to eat out, or needed to be picked up from the supermarket, Dial-a-Ride and the Gondola obliged ever so charmingly. What an amazing service. All in all, a beautiful home in a beautiful resort... But don't tell too many others My only complaint was that the photos did not do the place justice. I've never had that experience before

Eureka was simply wonderful. A beautifully presented, stylish, well equipped, comfortable home and perfectly located - ski in & ski out. Stunning views, hot tub, great kitchen & dining, large cosy lounge, all bedrooms with en-suites, ski and drying rooms, double lock up garage - in short, everything. To top it all off, it's in Telluride with its great variety of terrain, lots of dry snow and no crowds. Very hard to beat anywhere and we've skied all over the world. We're constructively critical and there was nothing to fault here. Really! And then you have the quaint old town of Telluride itself, just a gondola ride away. We give Eureka in Telluride Mountain Village the highest recommendation possible. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at Eureka again. Well done and thank you.
