The Mas Picholine area :
If you enjoy sport in a very nice landscape, the Mas Picholine located in a natural and classified area of Alpilles will allow you to fulfill your expectations from the first days of Spring with a privilege climate and plenty of Provencal flower perfumes.
With the heated swimming pool, you will already have the opportunity in April to play and swim in a large 11,5*5m2 basin.
With bikes proposed in the Mas Picholine, either you climb the Alpilles hills, either you go through the unlimited ways available in this area.
Alpilles are wonderful hills with many different options for horse ridding or hiking.
Again for sport, another option is to play Golf in 2 different locations close to Eygalieres.
If you prefer to relax with your friends or children, just go the 3 external terraces or to the pinus shaded place located in the corner of the beautiful garden.
Close to Eygalières, you will visit St Remy de Provence. Nostradamus was born here, and Van Gogh founded his inspiration and painted more than hundred pictures in the countryside. You may visit the places where the artist made the panoramas.
Glanum, just outside Saint Rémy is one of the most important Roman archeological sites in Provence. Founded 300 BC, it reveals a civilization that influences life here.
Near Eygalières, you will find the hills of the Baux de Provence, a village from Middle Ages located high on the rocks with an exceptional Castle and view on the Provencal country side.
The Mas Picholine has been built in 2007/2008. The style is traditional from Provence with stones, close to the old very quiet and authentic village named Eygalieres. This village is located 10mn from St Remy de Provence and close to Avignon city and the Baux de Provence.
The villa is set privately in its own 2000m2 garden within the estate, which is surrounded by old olive groves, hedges and scented trees and plants.
The villa has been designed in the style of a traditional Provencal bastide close to the old centre of Eygalières. This villa is part of a two villas large property with enclosed garden and security access. Entering the property, the villa is the second one on the back and far from neighbors.
A few minutes drive away from the village of Eygalieres, you enter the property through a large gate giving access to 2 separate villas. This recently built and tastefully decorated villa accommodates up to 10 people.
The villa is set privately in its own garden within the estate, which is surrounded by old olive groves, hedges and scented trees and plants. It has four bedrooms, two on the ground floor, two upstairs, each with private shower rooms and lovely views of the Alpilles hills from the upstairs rooms.
The Mas offers 1st Class standards as well as for construction material than equipments. Floors, windows, chimney and stairs with stones, saloon with high ceiling with very old and visible beams, marble in bathrooms, wood floors in bedrooms.
It has four bedrooms, two on the ground floor, two upstairs, each with private shower room and lovely views on the Alpilles hills, the old village and the Mont Ventoux. The two double and two twin rooms have been individually decorated in a Provencal style and the whole house is air-conditioned.
The salon is comfortably finished and has a fireplace, a large, satellite television screen, DVD and hi-fi. The kitchen is typically French and well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher and opens onto a covered terrace, where there is a barbecue, table and chairs. There is also laundry room with a washing and drying machine.
There is a swimming pool in a lovely, shady setting, which has a security alarm and lawn chairs and garden furniture scattered under the trees. Four specific terraces have been accommodated for relaxing. Outside lights softly illuminate the whole property in the evenings.

A fully equipped summer kitchen is available off the kitchen and the living room, under the large stone and shaded terrace with garden furniture.
It is equipped with a BBQ, 4 electric burners and a stone sink like many years ago.
You access the property through a private lane and stairs. At the rear of the house are enough parking spaces for several cars. There is also a garage.
The closest highway is the A7 (exit Cavaillon) 15 minutes drive away, which goes from Lyon to Marseille with connections for all major cities of the south east of France.
The closest train station is at Avignon and is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse, i.e. high speed train) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes!
The closest airport is Avignon as well with daily flights to Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

Why the Owner Chose St. Remy de Provence
In fact, we have not bought the house, we did it. My wife is Architect, I'm Engineer, we both love Provence and we decided with the combination of our competencies to build a typical Provencal Mas.
We did it with our Heart for our future of our family and we decided to rent it for a certain period to partly absorb the costs.
We have choosen to make the construction with stones, woods from the area. Often our Customers are telling us that this Mas Picholine is "Authentic".
On the other side, you will get all the confort of a modern house with very high standards.
Why this area : as described in the website, you have great opportunities in this Provence area with StRemy de Provence (VanGogh, Glanum archeology, artist town...), Avignon town, Nimes arenes, Alpilles wonderfull hills, famous provencal markets, olives trees... And a nice weather a large part of the year.

fantastic in every way! The house is magnificent. The pool and gardens are perfect. The children are having a great time and have been reasonably well behaved. We only have one issue : we wish we had reserved
for a longer time! We would gladly stay a second week if it was not already booked. Perhaps we will be back next year!

Très belle maison en provence : rate 5/5
Nous avons passé un séjour parfait dans cette maison au mois de mai 2009. La maison offre un très grand confort - elle est récente et très bien équipée (intérieur et extérieur). Bonne localisation: à quelques minutes (en vélo ou voiture) du centre d'Eygalières et au calme. Grande piscine et superbe jardin. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et disponibles pour répondre à toutes les questions et demandes des locataires.
