We stayed in July for a week and were very impressed with the property! We are a family of four, with two younger children who loved the sandbox and proximity to the Chester lido pool. The cottage is well appointed and a treasure in the heart of Chester!

Our cottage experience was wonderful! The location couldn't have been better for us. We did day trips and would return to the cottage to rest, relax, regenerate and plan for the next day. We spent a day driving down to Peggy's Cove, two days in Halifax, one day seeing Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and the Stonehurst area, one day in the Hall's Harbour area and a day going down to see the Oven and spending time in some of the villages on the way. Chester is a great place to stay. It is very charming and the cottage is close to the village center and the waterfront. We enjoyed eating at both the Fo'c'sle Tavern and the Rope Loft Restaurant. We also bought items from the bakery (great!). The pictures that are available on this site show the cottage in an honest and accurate way. The owner was easy to work with and very prompt in his replies. This is a very quaint cottage and I believe that anyone would enjoy it as much as we did. We had a great time!

We have been lucky enough to stay in this charming cottage a number of times and we plan to return. The property is exactly as advertised, with a perfect location for beach and village access. This cottage is an ideal starting point to get to know the village of Chester as well as the beautiful and charming surrounding south shore. The property and home are extremely well maintained, as are the many extra pieces of equipment that come with the rental -- bikes and strollers, etc. We have stayed in vacation rentals in both Canada and Great Britain; this one has been the best by far. The owner has is very accessible by email and phone and has always made the entire rental process simple and hassle free. I have recommended it to family members and friends without hesitation. You will not be disappointed!

I spent 2 weeks in this cottage and I can hardly find words to describe how beautiful and peaceful everything was! The cottage is so lovingly furnished and well equipped, everything is very clean and beautiful. It is very well maintained and the property manager was very helpful and friendly. The listing description is accurate and the photos absolutely reflect the rental's appearance. The owner was always helpful in answering my questions and everything about the rent was smoothly. Chester is a very nice, friendly and wealthy seaside-community and the people are gorgeous. I traveled far but I never found such friendliness like in Chester and in Nova Scotia. I will return next year!

The house was peaceful, clean and beautiful. The property manager was accessible and helpful. The house had any and all necessary amenities, including boxes full of toys, bikes, and sports equipment for kids and adults. The house had the quaintness and beauty of it's 200 year heritage and the cleanliness and comfort of a quality hotel. The town was equally incredible. Everything; shops, restaurants (fine dining and pubs), cafes, convenience stores, and the ocean itself...were within 10-15 steps of the house and yet without the noise and bustle of a downtown area. The people were both kind and helpful. And, Chester is conveniently located right next to one of the main highways. We were easily able to navigate our way about the province. Everything about Chester and about the house was far better than we could have expected. It was a restful and fun place to call home for a week.
