  My father and I live in the NJ area which is where we do all of our fishing. Unfortunately the past few years it hasn't been so good. A friend from work told me about the fishing in NC, so my father and I decided to take our boat and make a road trip down there. Since this was our first time in NC one of the logistics that we were concerned about was what to do with our boat at the end of the day. Brian's rental at Pirates Cove couldn't have been any more perfect for our fishing trip. We kept our boat in his private slip when we weren't using it. The slip was about a 15 second walk from the Condo building (not exaggerating). You could even see it from the balcony. Since Pirates Cove is a private community with a guard at the entrance we didn't have any worries about security. Once you get your boat out of the short canal where the slip is there's a bridge and little bay area that you can catch some trout, flounder, blues, and puppy drum. Most of the days there we took a short 15-20 minute boat ride out to the Oregon Inlet to do some fishing. While we were at the inlet we caught a 44 inch red drum (and YES we have the pictures to prove it!) as well as a bunch of other stuff. We also spent a couple days going off shore catching flounder, trout, sea bass, puffers, and some nice size blues. We even got a hammerhead up to the boat, but he bit through the steel leader and swam away before we could get him in. Location wise there's at least 4 bait and tackle shops that we stopped at within a few miles of his place and all were very helpful to us. If you don't have a boat there's a bridge right across the street with a pier for fishing as well as docks around Pirates Cove where people were fishing. There's also several other bridges, piers, beaches, etc… right in the immediate area to go fishing. There were a lot of restaurants within the area, but we opted to end our day cooking up what we caught. The bedrooms, living room, widescreen tv, and kitchen were more than what we needed, but we were really glad we had them. The unit was clean and very well kept. It seemed like there was a lot of other attractions and shops in the area, but my father and I were just there to fish. Brian was very quick and helpful with all of our questions and very accommodating with our request to stay an additional day. We'll definitely be back at Brian's place for our next NC fishing trip!!!

The Outer Banks has an enormous amount of terrific fishing all year round. Quite a few on my renters have come to visit and talk to the locals to see whats running and find which bait to use.   We were so delighted with the entire experience from working with this VRBO homeowner to our stay at this rental! I would highly recommend renting from this homeowner. The unit was clean, well kept, and very comfortable. It was just what we had expected! The location is perfect for anything you want to do at the OuterBanks. We love the location of Pirates Cove and this unit was in walking distance to the fabulous pool! The homeowner went over and above to make sure this was a pleasant experience. We will definetely be renting from them again! Make sure you give this unit a try--you won't regret it!! Happy Travels.

  We stayed at this condo for our daughter's wedding. The location was great - very close to the venue, restaurants, and shopping. It was great to be able to bring our dog also. And the condo was big enough for 3 of our wedding guests to be able to stay with us also. The decor was nice, and master bed was very comfortable. Would definately stay again.

  Brian- keep this tucked away in case any guest asks you for fishing info sound side. Might also help someone out that’s staying at your place using your slip. Left out of channel down to 1st point- green house- yellow house. Caught plenty of trout from shore line to where channel runs close to shore line. Gulp shrimp 2’ under popping float. 1st set of grass flats on right going under bridge- we caught some very nice flounder, keeper trout, few puppy drum on the channel side points – 1’ water. Same thing , gulp shrimp or crab fish bites. Plenty of bunker and finger mullet in the same shallow water coves if they can throw cast net. Never saw anyone fishing either place. Its enough to keep busy for a few days if they like staying close. Guys at tackle store just across bridge were very helpful also. Ward ... (REPLY)... Ward... That is awesome... I'm so glad you "hooked up" and the locals always seem to weed out the "reel" fisherman from the novices... I do hope everything in the condo was 110% and I can't thank you more for your business... Hope trout dinner was awesome also... I hope Paula enjoyed herself too... Winter is wonderful on the Outer Banks, I'll "give" you some winter getaway time if you wish ...   we had a very enjoyable stay in pirates cove,the condo accomitated my entire family (7) with no problem.the place was very clean and had everything to make you feel at home.it is in a very laid back relaxing area of north carolina,and is within miles of all the attractions and restaurants.the condo is within walking distance of the swimming pool,play ground,club house,tennis courts,and fishing.it is a very nice place to stay and you get more than your moneys worth.I highly reccomend this condo in pirates cove to anyone that plans to visit north carolina .i definitely plan to return to this condo in pirates cove on my next vacation.

  We stayed for a week at this property from 7/16-7/22 2012. Everything was top notch! The living room furniture was very comfortable and had a huge flat screen tv. The dining area had a spacious table for 6. All of the bedrooms were well appointed with views of the canal / tennis courts and pool area . The master bedroom had a king size bed and the teenagers were happy with the twin beds in the upstairs bedroom... The kitchen had top-of-the-line everything that you could possibly need. We enjoyed sitting and eating out on the balcony in the evening...The condo is located seconds from the Club House (which had many fun activities for the kids) and the playground. Also nice to have the covered desinated parking space ~ and a storage area that provided umbrellas and chairs for the beach. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone ~
