We just returned from our vacation and I am happy to report that we fell in love with this cozy cabin the moment we walked through the door. There was more than enough room for 4 adults and 5 children. The kids had a blast with the "toy room" upstairs and there was plenty to keep them entertained. We all had a fun, relaxing time visiting, playing cards, grilling, and fishing. For those of you who fish, my brother-in-law caught a trout off the dock. There are many things to do in and around Pangburn. One day we took the kids to Sandy Beach in Heber Springs to swim and another day we rented a boat on Greers Ferry Lake. You MUST eat at Southern Gals BBQ in Pangburn - the food and hospitality were remarkable! Dinah (the owner) was great to work with and we are so appreciative to have found this gem. We will definitely come back in the future for R&R! Thank you, Dinah!

The house is a nicel little country home for a nice get away. The only thing I would say was a downfall was the fishing, but it was do to the dam being released periodically through out the day. Other than that it was a decent stay for our larger family. Beautiful scenery !!!!!!

The best week of the summer....

My family (husband, parents, sister, nephew, and cousin) had the best time here. The house was so much bigger than I thought it would be. Plenty of room to have your own space, and plenty of living space to play cards, cook, and eat together. We spent many nights sitting on the screened in back porch or just relaxing in the living room together. Dinah was so helpful throughout the whole process suggesting places to visit or eat. (MUST EAT SOUTHERN GIRLS BBQ in Pangburn!) The house is a quick drive to the lake, the Ozark Folk Center, Blanchard Caverns, etc. You really can't ask for more! We stayed an entire week, and definitely wasn't long enough. The only downside to our visit was the river behind the house wasn't slow like in the picture posted, but we knew Arkansas had gotten massive amounts of rain so they were letting water out of the dam upstream. (A lady at the local park suggested we take all the water and rain back with us to Texas! haha.) The high, fast moving water made us nervous with a 7 year old, but the adults spent a few nights fishing or playing cards on the dock. We will definitely be back! Thank you Dinah for an amazing stay! We couldn't ask for more!

We absolutely loved this house. It is very comfortable, and beautifully furnished. We vacationed there with another family and had a great time. We kayaked, fished, went to the lake to tube and ski, went to the fish hatchery, climbed Sugarloaf, played cards and just relaxed. It is very secluded, but not too far from Heber Springs where there is lots to do. We would highly recommend it.

We stayed in the cabin in May 2011 for my daughter''s graduation from Lyon College in Batesville. Our family wanted the opportunity to enjoy time together since we came from several different states. The house was great for a family get-together. There were 9 of us, and plenty of room. The Little Rock airport was an easy drive to and from the cabin. We didn't catch any fish, but enjoyed watching a raccoon and armadillo. The view of the river is beautiful and peaceful from the screened in porch. My 90 year old mother was comfortable in the first floor bedroom and bathroom. If you are looking for a place to enjoy family and friends without distractions, this is the place for you.

We stayed in this beautiful cabin Feb. 2011 for 3 nights with another couple. Our goal was to relax and enjoy the time together and all the nature surrounding the area. Mission accomplished. The cabin has plenty of room and every thing you would hope to find in amenities. The owners were very helpful in suggesting nearby places to eat and directions to see the trumpeter swans in Wilburn. The river had plenty of wildlife to enjoy as well. We didn't want to leave but sure enjoyed the time that we got to stay.

Great Place for a Large Group

We stayed at the Little Red River Home for a long weekend and family wedding in Batesville, 40 min away. We are from NH and had a great time in this beautiful home. Very clean and comfortable. It has great character and plenty of sleeping for 12. There is a beautiful river right in front of the home and we had daily sightings of a bald eagle flying up and down the river. What a great and memorable weekend. Thank you to Dinah for all your help and suggestions.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AUGUST

We absolutely loved the house, my boys want us to buy it, that's how much we loved it... My father in law enjoyed fishing off the dock everyday, we had a fishing boat so the younger ones could go up river and fish, caught lots of fish, youngest son caught a brown trout, he was so excited. I enjoyed the relaxing porch, jacuzzi tub, tranquility and yes and WiFi... Went to Greers Ferry lake a couple of times and enjoyed the lake, it is so beautiful, the boys did a little skiing, I just enjoyed the boat ride... My mother in law did a little antiquing in near by Heber Springs. I took long naps and enjoyed sitting on the dock taking pictures and enjoying nature. Will definitely return one day, next year it's the beach though. Would love to spend a Thanksgiving at this cabin... Highly recommend... loved, loved, loved it...

Merry Month of May

After struggling with college undergraduates for nine months, this cabin has brought me needed solitude and recovery for the past two years. I now look at the cabin as my refuge during May. The forest is still coming alive, birds are mating (there is a killer cardinal that attacks his image in the windows), and the fish are "jumpin." I enjoy walking about five miles each day, reading for sheer pleasure, and antiquing in nearby towns and villages. When company comes calling, we head for Little Rock to visit the Clinton Library, see Central High School and roam the historic distric. Although I live in South Carolina where we have the beach and mountains, nothing compares to May at the Little Red in Arkansas! Try it; I'm sure you will return again and again.

Four familes traveled from North Carolina, Texas and Missouri for our first family reunion. We recalled childhood memories and were updated on the happenings of the last 30 years. We have enjoyed the vacation house, the setting, the river and canoeing. Unfortunately, we did not catch or see a fish!! We did hit 3 Wal-Marts in 2 days in 3 different towns! But, we would return in a heartbeat! The accommodations were great! We have many more memories to share together. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
