Located in a tranquil, wooded area outside Pangburn (15 miles from Heber Springs or Searcy) this cabin possesses a unique, rustic, sophistication and charm. The cabin was strategically placed for views from every angle. The back porch is cantilevered out over the river bank with a awesome view of this undisturbed stretch of the Little Red River. The gorgeous wooded area surrounding the cabin has been left in its natural state and looks incredible winter, spring, summer and fall.
Steps meander down from the cabin to an uncovered deck then continue thru the cypress trees to the boat dock. Fishing is great right off the dock (as is yoga). For fly fishing, a 5 minute walk gets you to a great quiet spot. For guests bringing a boat, there is a brand new public access just down from the cabin.
The interior of the cabin is extremely comfortable. There are 3 common living spaces as well as large covered front and back decks. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Two bedrooms have queen beds, another a full bed and one bedroom has two twin beds and a full bed. There is also a captain's bed/window seat with a trundle in a hallway nook upstairs. The master bath has a double vanity and a marble Jacuzzi/bath/shower!
This property is an easy drive from Little Rock or Memphis. There is a great little grocery store in Pangburn or a Wal-Mart in Heber Springs or Searcy. Greers Ferry Lake is a 15 minute drive for great swimming, boating or bass fishing. There are many good restaurants in the area. Mountain View and Batesville are easy day trips.
Please call or email to set up your next family outing, family reunion, big chill gathering, romantic getaway or just a relaxing weekend. You will not be disappointed!
Note:
This is a nonsmoking property.
The cabin is located on the Little Red River
The loft area has a tv and lots of dvds, but we do not have cable.
The cabin does have wireless internet connectivity.

I agree with Stacey! We were the other family she was talking about! We adored this house! We didnt want to leave! Stacey pretty much summed it up. Everyone had a wonderful time and we wished it would had never ended! Love dhaving the washer and dryer there, that really helped with the clothes and towels. You will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at this wonderful home. We were a group of 10-5 adults, 5 children-and this house could not have been more comfortable. It is broken up in a way that everyone had their own privacy at night. Yet there is a large common area where we all congregated each evening and spent wonderful family time together. The kids enjoyed getting up early in the morning to watch the wildlife (particularly the Golden Eye ducks) and the adults lazed around in our pjs while cooking a big breakfast. The kids room, complete with a variety of toys, was wonderful for the two little ones. The beds are comfortable and the cabin is well stocked with linens and all the extras (lightbulbs, toilet paper, etc). The kitchen is also well set up with just about everything you need to prepare a delicious meal. We also enjoyed a nice evening bbq'ing on the dock. The area is very remote yet close to anything you need. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Southern Girls in Pangburn (highly recommended) and spent a day near Greer's Ferry lake doing some trout fishing. The rest of our stay we just relaxed and enjoyed time as a family. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet family getaway to get away from it all. Definitely a place where we all would like to return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our family was seeking a little after Christmas getaway. We found this cabin (house) and could not have been more pleased! The home is wonderful, beds comfortable and all the necessary items were there. There is a great dock that the kids enjoyed fishing from, and a boat put in a quarter mile away. The owner was great to work with. We had some weather issues getting there and all was handled perfectly! The kitchen was fully stocked with all spices, pots, pans, and utensils. There is a coffee pot, dishwasher, stove and oven. The wood burning stove is great. The bathrooms were spacious, with all linens. The washer and dryer were perfect for drying the kids clothes. There was about a foot of snow on the ground while we were there! The location is great if you want seclusion. It is about 6 miles from Pangburn, at the "end" of the trout waters. I didn't think it was too far out, there were people fishing all around by the boat launch. It is only a short drive to Heber and all the famous walk in spots to fish. I am sure we will be repeat customers, and can highly recommend this property for a vacation or weekend getaway! Thanks to the owners for your hospitality and wonderful house, we had a great time!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Eight members of our family stayed in this wonderful location for six nights and it was everything we had hoped for and more. The cabin is just as pictured and was spotless when we arrived. The owner was very accessable and equally helpful and friendly. We will definitely give consideration to a return trip next year. Our favorite spots were sitting on the dock watching the river go by and sitting on the back porch doing the same thing. The cabin is situated in woods that give one a feeling of complete isolation and that was just what we needed. We all referred to it as home and that's just what it felt like. We loved the shabby chic decor and comfortable beds. While there, we had a guided trout fishing day on the river, went for a shopping trip to nearby Searcy, ate at Southern Girls BarBQ and Pizza Plus, and drove in to Heber Springs and had coffee at Jitterbug Coffee and did more shopping. If you stay in this cabin and don't eat at Southern Girls, you will really be missing out. Incredible!!!! At night we listened to the coyotes howl and the owls hoot and loved every minute of it. During the day, we were priviledged to see seven river otters playing just off the dock, a beaver walking down the river shore and two bald eagles overhead. For our nature loving family, this was just the best! We can't recommend this place highly enough....it was that good. We have stayed in countless VRBO locations both in the U.S. and out and this one will stand out in our memories for a long time. One other thing we did was cook a gourmet meal and eat it by candle light out on the back porch. If you are thinking of staying in the area, please give this place consideration. We know you will not be sorry.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

We love being able to stay at this cabin each summer while we visit family. It comfortably holds our family of five. The boys love to play on the window nook bed in the upstairs hallway. They call it the "treehouse bed". Excited to visit again! Great place to stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending a few days at this beautiful cabin. All we can say is when do we go back? We loved it's secluded canopy of trees; the screened porch where we watched the fireflies each night; blissfully napping in the hammock and the most wonderful surprise visit by a playful otter on the river. 4 days was just too short and we will return one day soon. Thanks for sharing this treasure with us.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners.

We usually go to the beach for our vacation but we decided to do something different this year. When my husband mentioned going to a cabin near the Little Red I wasn't sure what all we would do. I was afraid our kids would be bored. We took our newly married son and wife, our teenage daughter and her boyfriend. By the end of the week we all agreed this was just one amazing week. Each morning someone was always fly fishing. Around noon we would go to do something special. We went to Blanchard Springs to tour the caverns, rented a boat and went out on Greers Ferry Lake, went swimming at the Greers Ferry Cliffs, went bowling in Heber and climbed Sugar Loaf mountain. Each night we'd grill out and then play dominos or ping pong. One of our favorite things to do was to sit on the dock they have at the bottom of the long set up steps. The house is in a totally remote place surrounded by trees with an amazing view of the Little Red river. In the morning I'd sit on the back screened porch, drink my coffee and feel like I was in a bird house since the house sits up high on the hill. We had such an amazing time being together, relaxing, laughing and making memories. One suggestion is that Searcy is only 15 min. away and Heber is about 35 so I recommend going to Searcy for groceries and such. We would love to go again to this lovely house. There is plenty of room to be together or have a little personal space. Mike and Dinah were so helpful anytime we needed anything. Thanks for a wonderful week!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

The best accomodations we have ever had - Loved the decks - sitting areas. We have been coming for 20 years, the boys can catch fish anywhere - they had planned to go up and put in up river instead we stayed at Pangburn and caught the biggest fish ever. We will be back - hopefully this summer.Recommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

We just returned from our vacation and I am happy to report that we fell in love with this cozy cabin the moment we walked through the door. There was more than enough room for 4 adults and 5 children. The kids had a blast with the "toy room" upstairs and there was plenty to keep them entertained. We all had a fun, relaxing time visiting, playing cards, grilling, and fishing. For those of you who fish, my brother-in-law caught a trout off the dock. There are many things to do in and around Pangburn. One day we took the kids to Sandy Beach in Heber Springs to swim and another day we rented a boat on Greers Ferry Lake. You MUST eat at Southern Gals BBQ in Pangburn - the food and hospitality were remarkable! Dinah (the owner) was great to work with and we are so appreciative to have found this gem. We will definitely come back in the future for R&R! Thank you, Dinah!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

The house is a nicel little country home for a nice get away. The only thing I would say was a downfall was the fishing, but it was do to the dam being released periodically through out the day. Other than that it was a decent stay for our larger family. Beautiful scenery !!!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children.
