We had an absolutely wonderful weekend in February at Richard's house. First, the house is GORGEOUS!!! The kitchen is perfect for hanging out, laughing & talking, eating and drinking. It is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need for cooking and entertaining. The rest of the house is lovely, and perfectly suited for 3 couples spending the weekend away. It's set back off the the road, which is great for privacy and quiet. We were pleasantly surprised just how close the house is to Saugatuck and downtown Douglas, so don't let the location prevent you from staying in this amazing home. It's definitely the best rental we've ever had in Saugatuck, and, I would absolutely stay here again. Richard is a great guy and was a pleasure to rent from.

We stayed at this cottage for 3 nights in September of 2011 and greatly enjoyed the experience. The house itself is immaculate, and you can tell that the owner put a lot of thought into what people are looking for when renting a house for a vacation. We have two small children, and the house gives ample room for play-time, as well as privacy, as the home is situated in the forest, making it really easy to relax. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything needed to cook, and everything, I mean everything, is state of the art in the kitchen. The home is only a 3-4 minute drive to all the happenings in Douglas and Saugatuck, and to be honest, it seemed like the perfect scenario. You can take in all the sites of the beach town, and then kick back in seclusion, seemingly away from everything in the world. We'll stay here again, also recommend to friends headed to the area.

My husband and I, along with our daughter and her family, enjoyed a vacation in Saugatuck during Labor Day week, and we are so glad that we chose to stay here. The kitchen was even more fabulous than expected (I went home wanting to remodel my own!), the master bathroom is lovely, and the home is solidly built, with many amenities provided. We especially appreciated the sense of privacy the wooded setting offers, while being within a few minutes of town. We savored the small shops, art galleries, and microbreweries in the area, as well as the abundance of u-picks, farmer's markets, and the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan. And our 9-month-old granddaughter confirmed, after careful exploration, that this property is the best one in the area.

Just a quick note to let you know that we've really enjoyed our vacation and the use of your terrific house. You're right about the kitchen: It's great! The woods, too, are wonderful, as is the entire area. And our 9-month-old granddaughter has confirmed, after careful exploration, that your house is the best one in the area. :-) Again, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The house is great; the area, spectacular. We hope to return both to the area and to this house. All best, Richard

This house is clean and well-appointed with a large deck overlooking a forested area. It is very close to Douglas, Saugatuk and Fenville. We enjoyed bike rides through area's many orchards and farm fields that are just outside the door. A short drive to Pier Beach was a big hit with the kids. The kitchen has everything a vactioner may need. We enjoyed baking peach pies and making blueberry pancakes!

We stayed here with our daughter and her family and had a wonderful week!! The house was just right for the 6 of us. Secluded in the woods, but still close to town and the beach, the location was PERFECT! Everything was very clean and the house had everything we could want or need.I wish I could take the kitchen home with me!! The big deck was wonderful and great for the little ones. I would definitely recommend this house to friends. Rick, the owner was always available to answer any questions.Cable and WiFi were a big plus for us,too. This is a beautiful home and I hope we can stay here again!

This is a spacious, beautiful house with a wonderful kitchen. Rick said everything we need is in the house, and that is true! It is very private, hidden in the woods and has a big deck in the back. We spent a week here in July 2011 relaxing and visiting Saugatuck and Douglas, going to the beach, shopping, etc. We were also happy to find a pet-friendly house so we could bring our kitty.

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage in the woods! Rick, the homeowner, was wonderful about communicating and answering all questions. The location is IDEAL--close to Douglas/Saugatuck and beaches/parks/wineries/fruit picking. The house was incredibly clean, well maintained, and inviting! If you enjoy cooking and entertaining this is the place for you--the kitchen is huge, open, and well stocked with any utensil you might need. The large back deck is just off the kitchen/living room and is a great place to eat or read a book while enjoying being in the woods. Another big plus is INTERNET ACCESS!! I brought my dogs and they liked it too. We would definitely come back for another visit!

We rented Ricks house in the woods over Labor day 2010 and had an amazing time! The place was clean spacious and very efficient. The kitchen was very easy to work in with most tools available. Since the weather was not so great we actually spent much of our time cooking and relaxing in the house and on the deck out that leads in to the woods. Rick was very attentive to our needs and helped make our Labor Day weekend the BEST! Thanks Rick

Perfect setting for small family and dog. Very private setting. The house is well appointed and the kitchen is stocked with everything you might need. Easy drive to Saugatuck and Douglas. Rick, the owner, was helpful in directing us to less crowded beaches and was prompt in responding to any other requests. Would stay again or recommend to friends.

Beautiful home tucked back in the woods with all the amenities! Close to the beach, vineyards, orchards and wineries around Saugatuck and Holland.
Owner response:It took a lot of dedication and perseverance to build this home and love sharing it with others. I know that many folks get extended vacations like this rarely and making sure the home is ready for the next visitor is important to me. Thanks for the review!
