  My husband and I and our 2 year old spent a week at the villa. The owners of these condos have created a wonderful little community. We felt so welcomed by unit owners and the property manager. It was nice to have access to the resort pools for our son. The restaurant on site is wonderful - everything is very fresh. You can get $1.50 tacos all day, or a very nice meal if you choose. This was great with a toddler if we didn't want to leave the property. However, there are many wonderful places to eat in town, which is great fun also. Robin and Kurt do an amazing job in providing all the necessary references to have the best stay possible. We took a shuttle to the villas from the airport, and didn't have a car the entire trip, the villas are walking distance to everything in town. We had such a wonderful time, and can't wait to return again!

  This property was exceptional and the location is unbelievable!!! My only problem with giving this property and location such a good rating is the fact that I want to keep it to myself. If you love the beach and you love fishing and you love to explore via quad transport and if you love to immerse yourself in a Mexican culture that is like the good old days, where the locals are happy to see you and appreciate your patronage in a safe environment then this is the place for you. Wrap up all of the aforementioned in a luxurious condo that is fully equipped with all the amenities then this is the place for you...and I mean fully equipped and appointed...it was hard to believe that this is rural Mexico!!!! I loved our week here.

  My wife and I were very pleased to discover this villa is easily the nicest unit in the complex. The ground floor offers a much nicer and more convenient experience than any other floor. You can walk right out to the pool without going up stairs or elevators. The view is to die for with all the tropical lush flowers, palm trees and of course the Sea of Cortez. The furnishings and appliances are obviously upgraded. There is a comfortable sectional couch, big screen TV (I was even able to watch ESPN) and great local artwork. (My wife loved your mermaid painting!). The kitchen is spectacular, marble counter tops, stainless steel cookware, and even a wine cooler. We used the community stainless steel BBQ and rolled it right up to our terrace and cooked the fish I caught earlier that day. You can’t do that unless you’re on the ground floor. The master bedroom is large and comfortable with another flat screen TV and a separate Dish receiver so my wife could watch her favorite program in bed while I watched sports in the living room. I know; I shouldn’t be watching TV on vacation but there are some sports a guy just can’t miss! The huge master bathroom has a sunken tub and is all marble and glass. My wife wanted me to be sure to mention the Bosch washer and dryer. It was great to have so we didn’t have to bring a lot of luggage. Several beach towels were supplied so don’t fill your suitcase with extra stuff you won’t need. Views from the living room and bedroom are relaxing and breathtaking. The sunrise views over the water are worth their weight in gold. We even got to watch the “Moonrise” right out of the ocean later in the night. Spectacular! Oh, did I mention this is a prime spot for fishing!!!!! Book your boat next door at the hotel and it will be waiting for you on the dock not more than 100 yards away. There is a local grocery store with more options than we expected just walking distance from the condo. Restaurants, shopping and bars are all a short walk. Robin recommended we rent an ATV and take a ride down the arroyo to the waterfalls and up the beach to Punta Pescadero. Those were two highlights of our trip (almost as good as the fishing)! We fell in love with this place and plan to return hopefully next spring. The locals are so helpful and welcoming. There is so much to do here if that is what you’re looking for. My wife relaxed by the pool while I was out fishing. The perfect spot to make us both very happy!

  My husband and I arrived very smoothly with all the help Robin provided for us on car rentals, driving directions and key instructions. We opened the door to a spectacular condo, even better than pictured on the VRBO website. The place was immaculate and clearly well cared for. The kitchen had everything you could imagine and then some. Next time we will stay longer and try some cooking. We enjoyed many of the restaurants Robin recommended and some new ones too. We especially liked the BayView Grill right out our back door. After a day of playing in the sun, it was nice not to have to go into town. The restaurant even served our dinner right on the table of our terrace and the food was delicious and very gourmet ! The property manager, Pedro, was very accommodating and informative. The building wasn't too crowded for this time of year but we met several other couples and enjoyed some evenings with new friends. Thank you Robin for allowing us to stay in your beautiful villa in the special little village of Los Barriles. We hope to return again the same time next year. Not too hot, great fishing and the water in the ocean and pool was perfect! Don't forget the comfortable bed. We never slept so well. Thanks!

  I must admit this holiday fell below my expectations. Robin was an absolute joy to deal with, very prompt which I truly appreciated. She provided a great package of information about the area which added to our anticipation. The only detail in the info packet that could be added is that you must go to the front desk at the hotel to get room key, but other than that, very thorough. We arrived on a pleasant Saturday afternoon and quickly agreed location to town was fantastic. We opened the door and I was momentarily stunned. Fruit flies we're buzzing around in the kitchen over the sink and when I looked to see why there were dirty crusty rags in the rusty sink. I opened the fridge to find containers of old leftover food in styrofoam containers that definately had gone past expiry date. I was very disappointed at the cleanliness, my next stop was the master bath and the tub had a nasty film and hair in it. I was appalled. My husband was trying to be a good sport but I wasn't having any of it. I was about to go find the property manager when the door had a knock and a mexican girl asked of everything was okay in broken English. I told her nicely that no it wasn't okay and showed her, so she said she would fix it. She went and got bleach and dumped it into the sink. I dumped out the food containers and then she went about cleaning the sink and the patio glass door and then left. I thought I would get a nicely cleaned condo that is so nicely photographed on the vrbo website. I cleaned the tub and had a drink then decided to let it all go. The towels in the master were peach with bleach marks on them, just not at all what I pictured it would be. It just left a bad first impression. We ate at the restaurant by the swim up bar and both my hubby and I were sick for the next two days. It was not alcohol related. The condo itself it very well appointed and has a view to die for! Very pretty. So soothing watching the boats bob in the Sea of Cortez. I wouldn't recommend August as a travel date to the area because several of the restaurants Robin recommended were closed for the season. We had 3 days of rain, which was okay, but many restaurants, ATV rentals were closed because of it so that didn't leave many options. Based on ALL of the other reviews, it would appear my first experience was an isolated incidence of not being properly cleaned. I think the area would be much better in higher season with more options to explore.

We did in fact discover we had a last minute rental through the Palmas Hotel that checked out the very same day you arrived. Since you were coming from Todos Santos, you arrived before the normal check in time of 2:00 pm and the villa simply had not been cleaned. Since our maid staff does not have full command of the English language, she was not able to communicate that fact to you and did not want to ask you to leave so she could finish her job. As you so graciously noted in your review, you experience was an isolated incident of not being cleaned. Please accept our sincere apologies and let us know when you would like to return to our little slice of paradise "on the house" to make up for your inconvenience on your first visit.   The condo itself as well as the property were fantastic! The pool was literally just steps from our back door and the beach only a few yards beyond that. Everyone from the Villas and Hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful. The town itself was not only charming, but had every convenience and service we could need, without the massive crowds or commercialism of Los Cabos. Everything was within walking distance and the locals were not only friendly, but incredibly tolerant of my broken Spanish. As recommended, we enjoyed the best meal of our trip at the Hotel Calafia and I can't recommend it enough; the Mole enchiladas are not to be missed. (Don't be discouraged if there isn't a crowd; according to my conversation with the owner, bad press about the dangers of mainland Mexico have affected Baja as well, despite being incredibly safe.) The little taco stand just a few doors past the Supermarcado was also great. It seemed to only be open at night, but was perfect for an evening snack after happy hour. The fish tacos brought back fond memories of my trips down the Baja with my family as a kid. My recommendation to anyone visiting with a car is to take a trip to Cabo Pulmo, a National Marine Preserve, about an hour drive from Los Barriles. The water was fantastic as was the snorkeling. The beach has some of the finest sand I've seen and the crowds were nonexistent when we were there; usually just 3 or 4 local families enjoying the sun. I cannot recommend the condo or Los Barilles highly enough, and am already planning a longer return trip for next spring!   I want to start out by saying sorry Robin for the late review. This does not in any way reflect how our stay was (Fantastic Trip!). This is not a condo but a home in paradise and is the best place to stay in Los Barriles. We walked to everything including the stores and restaurants in town. Local stores have anything you need for your stay. We used Ulysses Taxi service to and from the Airport. He has no problem stopping at Costco and wait for you to get your grub for the week. This Home has everything a person could possibly need or want, and is very beautiful, spacious & clean exactly as described. I Love to cook and found everything I needed in the kitchen (ultra modern) and the Big Gas Bar B Q out side at the Pool. At times during the week we were the only ones at the Pool and the service from the Bar never lacked. The beautiful sunrise comes up right on the patio and Coffee could not taste better. The ocean was warm and pleasant and we enjoyed the Pools at the Villas and next door at the Palmas. I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends as the best place to stay & the owner is so easy to work with. We would eat at Tio Pablos or the Smoke house. (Great Fish and chips, plus coldest Pacifico's in LB.) We had the best meals there. If you like adventure check out the Quad Man next door to Charlie’s Chocolates. Hotel Los Barriles had the Best Panga Fleet for fishing. Thank You Robin for a perfect getaway we will definitely be contacting you in the future for a return trip.

  Simply to say - it is the best place in town to stay for your next vacation!!! That is if: 1. you like a place just like your own home with all the amenities by your side: fully equipped kitchen with EVERYTHING in it, Sat TV with over 200 ch, FI-WI Internet, best bedroom with KING SIZE, huge bath tab, nice furniture - you name it... 2. you like to be 10 steps away from the pristine beach (read it literally - 10 short steps and you are on the beach)... 3. you like quiet escapes with wild nature around, luxurious accommodations by your side and many great activities: watersports, fishing, diving, biking etc. Moreover, it is the best unit in a complex - first floor unit with easy access to the gate to the beach, right next to the pool and all the necessary amenities you need inside... No car needed - you are right in the heart of town! We know the owners - Robin and Kurt are the greatest hosts and they will do everything possible to make you feel "comfy". We have been coming here for years - we simply can't find a better place to stay!

  Just to start off, how awesome to be sitting on a cozy couch (which frankly we settled right into as if it was our own at home....so nice). And watch the palm trees in the fading sunlight, seeing the the gorgeous colorful flowers outside our door gently blowing, with our sundresses and shorts on watching Charlie Browns Christmas with our 4 year old. Oh, did I mention eating tuna sashimi for dinner that we caught while taking a day trip off the front dock on the Mahitini. Can't beat that as far as I am concerned. The amenities were plenty, juicers, coffee, pots, pans, blow dryers and on and on to the magnifying mirror (probably should not have looked .). What a great time. The Staff was and is so gracious, they made us feel so welcome and The Chefs prepare fish and make some mean sashimi and ceviche. Knowing you get to walk a few steps back home to your welcoming condo is the cherry on top of the cake.

RENTAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 2 P.M. MST AND CHECK-OUT IS 11 A.M. MST. 2. This is a NON SMOKING unit. 3. Pets are NOT permitted in rental units under any conditions. 4. We will not rent to vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent. 2. CANCELLATIONS - A ninety (90) day notice is required for cancellations. Cancellations that are made more than ninety (90) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 90 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and damage/reservation deposit. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit. 4. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of guests per condominium is limited to four(4) persons. An additional charge or $10.00 per person per night for guests in addition to four (4) will be assessed. THIS PROPERTY REQUIRES A THREE (3) NIGHT MINIMUM STAY. 5. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. If a rental is taken for less than three days, the guest will be charged the three-night rate. 6. INCLUSIVE FEES - Rates include a one-time linen-towel setup. Amenity fees are included in the rental rate. 7. NO DAILY MAID SERVICE - While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate however is available at an additional rate. If you wish daily maid service, you can pay the maid daily while you are there. 8. FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS - Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in. 9. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS - Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance. 10.HURRICANE OR STORM POLICY - No refunds will be given unless: a. The National Weather Service orders mandatory evacuation in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning area" and/or b. A "mandatory evacuation order has been given for the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning" area of residence of a vacationing guest. The day that the National Weather Service orders a mandatory evacuation order in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning," area, we will refund: a. Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered, b. Any unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten their stay, to come in after the Hurricane Warning is lifted; and c. Any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during the "Hurricane Warning" period.
