We stayed for a long weekend during a warm spell and we absolutely loved the place! The lake house itself is just perfect. There is a great big living room with the kitchen set behind it which is perfect for hanging out while cooking. The kitchen is well equipped with all the basics, so you only need to bring food. There are several rooms, but since it was just the two of us we stayed in the lake-view room. Facing south with windows on two sides, you wake up to warm sunlight streaming in and a perfect view of the lake through the trees. Outside is a fantastic deck overlooking the lake, with a hot-tub perched in a perfect position for taking in sunsets and stargazing. I really appreciated the fact that the heat was on and the hot tub bubbling away when we arrived, a hot soak after a long drive is how everyone should start their trips here! There's also a firepit, with plenty of firewood. I found the dried pine needles made perfect kindling, and there's plenty of it. The lake was frozen since we came in winter, but we were looking for a quiet rejuvenating weekend and the house alone makes a great vacation - we enjoyed every minute of it. This is going to be a new tradition for us, and we're looking forward to coming back once the lake thaws out so we can enjoy the water too. Setting it up was a breeze. Misty is a great host, very helpful and responsive. This was a very last minute thing and it was very easy to set it up with her. I also appreciate the fact that she does not charge an arbitrary "cleaning fee" and refunds the security deposit very promptly. We recommend this cottage and Detjens Rentals wholeheartedly.

This was the second year my family, which includes myself, my 2 children ages 12 and 5, my parents, sister and brother in law, has stayed at the Lakeside Getaway and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The house is very comfortable, with enough space for all of us to spread out and not get in each other's way too much. This year the AC was a welcome addition. The lake is super clean, as I was able to see my feet standing in over 5 feet of water. Kids, as well as all of us adults enjoyed jumping off the pier and swimming out to the raft. It was beautiful and peaceful to go swimming at night by the light of the full moon. I'm already planning on a Girl's Only weeknd with some of my girlfriends for this fall and the family is considering a dead of winter trip to relax, watch the Packers, ice fish and snowmobile. Plus, of course, we have already started looking forward to next summer's annual trip. Thank you Misty for making our one week away from the chaos of "real life" so relaxing and comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lakeside Getaway. It had everything we needed and plenty of room for our group of eight. Clean and inviting with all the comforts of home plus a great location.

Bro Weekend

A group of my college friends reunited for the weekend and had a blast. The house had a great living room that gave us plenty of space and seating for all 9 people to sit around and talk. Misty was great to rent through, as she was genuinely concerned that we had a great weekend. Of course, the hot tub was a huge hit. The beds were very comfortable and the place was very clean. Everyone in the group mentioned how they would love to come back again. I would recommend this place to anyone. It's especially great for a large group of people.

Our group of women rented from Misty years ago on Silver Lake and always loved it so much. Eventually that property was sold and we were so sad! So when we decided to plan another retreat after many years, we were happy to see she was still renting some wonderful cabins! We enjoyed our weekend at Little Hills Cabin very much. The beds were comfortable, the living room was great for hanging out and talking and the view was wonderful. What we also appreciate is her willingness to make sure you have a good experience. We will rent from her again!

Seeing that sometimes its hard to get away with some of my friends I took it upon myself to plan a vacation I searched threw the home away website and found this wonderful getaway. We were able to hit the slopes during the day and relax in the hot tub and sauna at night. I would reccommend this place to ANYONE! We are going to plan another trip up here this year!

Wonderful Women's Getaway

Our group of 7 spent 3 nights at the Lakeside Getaway and totally enjoyed ourselves. We played games, talked, cooked, walked and visited Wautoma. We used the hot tub and sauna. We really felt it was a great place to relax and spend time indoors and outdoors. Since we are all avid readers, we would suggest some better reading light. Otherwise, we found everything we needed to have a great weekend.

Stayed here with some friends for Labor Day weekend. The house is amazing...completely clean and beautiful (the pictures really don't do the interior justice). We had everything we could need, from a hot tub to grill to boats, and everything was in perfect condition. Water is clear and the floating dock was a lot of fun. As a bonus, the town also has two nice grocery stores (standard one and a little bit of a finer food option) and an amazing breakfast place. We are going back this year for even longer. You won't be disapointed.

This cabin was such a treat for my fiance and I. It is such a quiet cozy stay away from the big city. The lake is crystal clear and peaceful. The hot tub and sauna were nice to relax in daily. Owners were very nice and helpful. I would recommend this cabin to anyone. Great for families, couples, friends or gatherings. We will definitely go back, this time with the kids.

Great Getaway

We spent a long weekend at the Lakeside Getaway with 4 women for a girls getaway. This was the 3rd time we had stayed at the house as it accommodates us so well. Plenty of beds and two bathrooms as well as a sauna and hot tub for relaxing.Also a DVD player for watching movies.The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked in dinner and breakfast easily. Great restaurants nearby included the Moose Inn and the Silvercryst with live entertainment. This county even has the safe ride program where you can call and get a ride home so you don't have to worry about driving impaired. Would be great for a summer getaway too with the lake just steps away.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Beautiful Cabin

The pictures on the listing really don't do the cabin justice. It's beautiful. It was very clean and nice. The view was gorgeous from the deck and the hot tub and sauna were great for relaxing. The only downfall of going in the fall was that we were not able to take advantage of the crystal clear water at the beach. The owner lives right next door and was very accessible. We had a blast exploring all the charming little towns in the surrounding area. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

This rental property is located in a secluded and private area with alot of hiking, boating, golfing and many outside activities. The only drawback this home had was too many bunkbeds. The second bedroom could hold 2 full or queen beds easily. If you are going with children it would also be great. We rented it Oct. 2, 3, 4 and had a great time. The property was well maintained and clean. We had a great fish fry at the Moose Inn located near the property. I would go back again.
