If you are looking for a comfortable, cozy home to come back to after a day of hiking in and exploring the high peaks of the Adirondacks the Pink House on Mirror Lake is the perfect spot. This house is great for multiple families with children. There is a large yard for play and a huge family room opens up to the outdoor patio which is wonderful for dinning in the warmer months and has a level walk to the lake. There is a loft sleeping area that the kids will love and two of the bedrooms have private baths. For use on the lake there is both a rowboat that is great for fishing and a paddleboat that you could use to paddle to town for lunch. Or if you prefer to walk, around Mirror lake there is a nice brick sidewalk that passes right in front of the house. The walk will take about 40 minutes and half way through you will find the town of Lake Placid!
For the cooler months there is a stone fireplace that is very inviting after a cold day on the slopes. Off the kitchen there a large dinning room and a cozy den to relax in after tasty dinner; and just because it is winter it does not mean you can not enjoy the lake. Cross-country skiing out the back door, over the frozen lake is a very fun way to get to the toboggan run which is sure to be a hit with the kids.
Because of the location on Mirror Lake, one can find the boat launch for Lake Placid practically across the street. Your stay in Lake Placid is sure to be a memorable one for both you and your children for years to come!
