Affordable Long Weekend Vacation with Pros and Cons!!!

I was very happy to find this condo accommodating two couples for a reasonable rate. I had very little luck finding places to accommodate just two couples for a long weekend in this area. Most places didn't allow 1/2 week rentals and this owner did. They also were easy to deal with but a little unconventional with their payment method. However after returning, I am reminded of the phrase "you get what you pay for". I am not saying that it was the worst place that I have ever stayed, but it certainly wasn't the best either. The living room and kitchen were the nicest rooms in the condo. The living room area had a really nice entertainment center. However, the whole condo could have used a good vacuuming. The bedrooms were okay cleanliness wise, but the mattresses on the bed were really firm, too firm for my liking. The property could use some updating, and was not the cleanest. Both bath rooms had hair in both the bath tub and sink drains. But in the owners defense the people that stayed before use either left without picking up after themselves or the cleaning crew didn't do their job properly/or not at all, not quite sure which is the case. The master bedroom blinds did not do the job that blinds are meant to do, they allowed people to look in to easily for our comfort, and we ended up putting a sheet over them. The condo is in a great location directly across from the indoor pool and tennis courts, which we did not use. However the sound is not visible from any of the 2 porches but is really really close though and would have been great if it hadn't had so much damage from the most recent hurricane. The cement for the boat launch had been moved inland about 20 feet and the pier leading into the sound was completely washed away. I guess that is to be expected when there was a hurricane that brought a lot of water damage only weeks before our arrival. Luckily we did not need to use these amenities, so there was no disappointment for us by these out of order findings. Hopefully though for future residents/renters the boat launch and pier will be restored in a timely manner for future use. In closing, I will reiterate this is an affordable okay place to stay in a GREAT location, especially if you need a place to stay for a long weekend. However we ended up leaving a night early because our backs and necks couldn't take sleeping 1 more night on the hard mattresses. We agreed that we missed our beds at home way too much to stay 1 more night.
