The Old Town 1 is extremely central, and a perfect apartment to combine with another of the Old Town apartments 2, 3, 4, 5 for big groups - a much better alternative to hotel rooms! Only minutes from Barcelona's famous "RAMBLAS," the Old Town 1 is located in the heart of the old town (6/7 minutes walk from las Ramblas), while its situation is a pleasant contrast - a quiet street, with hardly any traffic to bother you.
This newly redecorated, first-floor apartment with 100 square meters, is situated only 6/7 minutes from "LAS RAMBLAS," and "PLACA CATALUÑA," the city's main square. The building, in the old town, is new with a large hall and new elevator giving easy access for senior citizens and push chairs, etc. With two balconies, the apartment enjoys a lot of natural sunlight throughout the day.
The three bedrooms (interior and quiet) have king-size beds (1.80-meters by 2.00-meters) and large wardrobes - 1 bedroom can also be made a triple if needbe. The new bathroom (February 2005) has a toilet, designer glass sink and new hydromassage shower cabin. There are also 2 double sofa beds and 2 single sofabeds in the apartment, giving the apartment a warm welcome for up to 12 guests. Fresh towels and clean sheets are provided. The decoration of the flat is new and modern, as is the furniture, and there is a TV & DVD and CD/stereo in the large living room. The apartment has wooden flooring and brand new wooden dorrs throughout. The kitchen boasts a washing machine, toaster, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and cafeteria. There is also an iron and ironing board.

There are three metro lines serving the apartment, LICEU, DRASSANES[L3] and SAN ANTONIO [L2], all of which are a short five-minute stroll from the apartment and metro maps with other tourist information will be waiting for you in the apartment. As an Englishman living here, I have prepared a "Welcome Pack" with useful local information, recommended restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs, and tons of other information you will not find in any guidebooks!!! Discount parking in the same street can be offered, and any local tourist information and reservation calls (restaurants, theatre, discothèques, etc.) can be made by landlord (English and Spanish spoken).
Barcelona's PORT AND MARINA are only ten-minutes walk from the flat. So whether you want to imagine which of the yachts you would buy when you win the lottery, walk THROUGH Europe's largest fish tank in the AQUARIUM for a true "Jaws"-style experience, take in a 3-D cinematic experience in the IMAX, or check out the exclusive shops, bars, and restaurants in MAREMAGNUM, you know you only have a sunshine stroll back to the flat to relax before you do it all again the next day!
Along the way to the Port, you will pass the MARITIME MUSEUM, the landmark of "Las Ramblas" - the COLUMBUS MONUMENT - and if you decide to venture further, there are various stops of the TOURIST BUS along the way - a great way to see all the sights in the city in a short stay.
In the other direction, moving back up "Las Ramblas" allow yourself to be surprised and captivated by the GOTHIC quarter, so called because it is said that in the middle ages the devil had a habit of strolling through the old streets of the city. Even today, you are able to revive the magic of the old town, with the PLACA REAL (royal square), PLACA PALAU (palace square), and CATHEDRAL, at a stones throw from each other.
All of these routes can be enjoyed without haste from the Old Town 1 apartment. |
