"It was great to be able to bring my 96 year old grandmother and her dog. She loved looking out the big windows and watching the kids fish in the pond. The kids went through 3 containers of worms. Your fish are well fed. We didn't like your pet tarantulas in the yard(Ha). I am sure we will be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay at Peaceful Oaks was awesome. It was everything as a family were looking for. Only 5 people spent the night however, there was plenty of room for more. The home was very clean. The home was large enough on the inside to accommodate a place for all 25 of us to eat. The kids completely enjoyed the catch and release pond in the back. The location of the farmhouse was only about 15 minutes away from the lake and some of the family went and enjoy time with the kids swimming. Overall we completely enjoyed our stay. The owner John made all the arrangements very easy, and was very helpful with information about the area. I would defiantly recommend this home for a relaxing get away for a family or a reunion. We have already made arrangements to return next year for our annual family reunion, but will take more advantage of the location and the close proximity to the lake.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had a wonderful time at Buckhorn Lodge last weekend! Your home is beautiful and very accommodating - we had 8 adults and plenty of room. It was immaculately clean and well equipped. We had one person in a wheelchair, and found the property to be accessible without too much difficulty. The pictures really don't do it justice! We enjoyed just relaxing on the porch, playing games on the lawn and watching the hummingbirds. The bison that came up in the mornings were a fun surprise, too! Local attractions and the Chickasaw National Park are very close by, but we could happily stay right on the property. The only problem we had was that our time was too short!! We had a fun, stress free weekend and time to enjoy one another and God's creation. Thank you so much for your hospitality - we will definitely be back - and this time for a longer stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family had an awesome time at your ranch last weekend! It was so quiet and peaceful. The views were amazing! My brothers and cousins enjoyed the paddle boats and fishing. You had everything we would ever need available there and ready for us to use. You ranch was close enough to all the area attractions, we had a great time.Did you find this review helpful? Owner info
About the owner: As former operators of the 'Buckhorn Lodge',we counted it a high honor to be recipients of the 2009 Governor's 'Redbud Award' for outstanding Agritourism destination in Oklahoma. When the 'lodge' and property sold last year, our family decided to offer 'Peaceful Oaks' to families visiting the Arbuckle area, looking for something quiet, secluded, family friendly, yet very accesible to all Arbuckle attractions. Being a wildlife biologist by profession, a favorite passion is of sharing information regarding local wildlife, wildflowers, birds, etc. with interested visitors.
Why the Owner Chose Davis:
The 27 acre property is situated along the Guy Sandy Creek, which is a primary feeder stream for Lake of The Arbuckles. We often would have guests comment, 'it is so peaceful here', or 'this is so beautiful back in here', so that when it became possible to share Arbuckle lodging, we decided to allow Arbuckle area visitors a chance to be blessed by this place as well.
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
We enjoy many neotropical migrants(birds) each season at Peaceful Oaks. Painted bunting, summer tananger and purple martins among them. Local wildlife, whitetail deer and turkeys also make the place home.
'Catch & release' bluegill and bass from the pond just off the back deck is among the more popular activites.
