Il Berneto is an all purpose holiday villa with a swimming pool, on the border of Tuscany and Umbria: the ideal choice for your perfect holiday in the Italian countryside.

The villa sits about 500 meters above sea level in 300 acres of flowered fields, olive groves with woodlands that have stunning views of the Umbrian hills. It is built entirely of local stones and was formerly a farmhouse that was erected on the ruins of the ancient "Castel Brandetto”, built in 1000 AD: the original walls of the castle can still be seen in the back of the house. In 2008 it was renovated.

The property includes an expansive garden, the Aia, with a lovely grass field and beautiful trees, a brand new swimming pool, vineyards, fruit trees, firewood, and 1000 olive trees that produce traditional Umbrian olive oil every year. The swimming pool, 14 meters in length, is discretely placed a few meters from the house, just out of sight, enjoying complete privacy. Il Berneto can host up to 20 people. It is possible to rent only the Main Unit of the house, which is fully equipped and can host up to 12 people.

  • Our family of 17 stayed at Il Berneto and had an absolutely marvelous time. The villa is so well equipped to accommodate large groups having all the kitchen amenities you could ever want. The children had room to run and play, swim and ride bicycles. When we weren't touring the countryside, we often walked to the village for ice cream and aperitifs. The setting was rich with Italian countryside charm and ambience and the views (particularly sunsets) were spectacular. As hosts, Martina and Marco are graciously warm, considerate and generous in their efforts to accomodate and make you feel welcome and at ease. We leave with fond memories and will recommend Il Berneto to all of our friends and family should they consider Umbria for a vacation.

  • If you are looking for a comfortable, classy, peaceful and authentically Italian vacation rental, Il Berneto is the place for you. The historical farm house has been renovated with style. It is charming, clean and extremely well equipped. The pool, vegetable garden and property are manicured and maintained to the highest standards. The location and town of Monteleone d' Orvieto is pastoral, calming and safe. Spend you days resting by the pool with a view of the Umbrian countryside or visiting the nearby hilltop towns and other historical sites.

  • Convenient location and excellent accommodations. It was so relaxing and enjoyable to come home after a day of touring and enjoy the pool followed by a lovely dinner while watching the sunset. There were 12 of us and the villa was very comfortable for this many people. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and thoughtfulness in assuring that the villa was well equipped. We loved the salads from the garden, marmalades, cherries and olive oil from the orchards. Even the gardener shared his home-made wine with us. We had beautiful family vacation at Il Berneto. I highly recommend this villa.
