We rented this cabin for a four day weekend with our two kids- ages 1 and 3. Packing was simple because a full size crib, booster seats, play mat, and lots of toys and children's movies were already included in the cabin! The kids LOVED playing with the new toys and having a fenced play space in the backyard. My husband and I loved the hot tub after the kids went to bed! It was so relaxing and quite an experience to sit in a 102 degree hot tub when it's 29 degrees outside and snowing!! The owner was very accommodating easy to work with and she's really done a nice job and making you feel right at home in the cabin. It's terrific to have all the comforts of home - including cable and internet, which a lot of places don't have. We traveled in February of 2010 and had quite a snowstorm come through! We loved seeing the large snowflakes fall and seeing all the trees covered in white! The kids had never seen so much snow, so it was very exciting for them. We were able to do lots of sledding and build a large snowman in the backyard with the provided snowman making kit. We will keep this place at the top of our list for future northern Arizona stays and would love to come back with the grandparents now that we know there is plenty of space for a large family and tons of amenities! We just spent a relaxing weekend at the Nakai Chalet and had a wonderful time. This is the first time that we stayed in a vacation rental home instead of a hotel -- and it was perfect.The house is close to very charming downtown Flagstaff, with all the shops and cafes that come along with a university town; and yet the chalet is in the mountains and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. You get the best of both worlds. The chalet is in immaculate condition, and the bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. It's difficult to say which season would be best to use the chalet--if you feel like spending a cozy weekend enjoying the snow from the hot tub, winter would be great. But in the summer, you would be able to enjoy the great deck, use the grill, and smell the pine trees under the night sky. Kids would love this place, and it would be perfect even for a group of friends who just want to hang out for the weekend and get away from the Phoenix heat. We'd definitely recommend this house. The Nakai Cabin we stayed at in Flagstaff was indeed amazing! It had a cozy and inviting feel to it & was quite roomy too. We enjoyed our experience at the Nakai Chalet. It is far enough out of town to enjoy the beautiful country, but close enough to town to get there quickly. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed to be comfortable for the week we stayed. The hot tub was a nice touch, and helped us relax at the end of the day, when it was full. (Previous guests had left the water pretty murky, and the service people had to empty it while we were there.) I would like to start by saying that I have stayed numerous vacation homes over the last 10 years. This home exceeded our expectation. My dad loved playing ping-pong, pool and relaxing in the recliner. The house was stocked with all the amenities one would need, even laundry detergent. The kitchen had a strainer for Indian tea, which was a pleasant surprise! Everything was very well explained and documented by the owners. The location is very picturesque and size of the house is perfect for a couple of families. The games especially the pool table which doubled as a ping-pong table was the biggest hit. Beautiful cabin in the pines just 6 miles from Flagstaff, Arizona and within easy distance to Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. It was the perfect size for our family of 7 which spanned the ages of 4 to 83. The owners have made the cabin family friendly with pool/ping pong table, several TVs, hot tub, beauftiful deck and gas barbeque and children's library of DVDs. By far the best vacation rental experience we have ever had. Clara kept in contact with me until we were inside of the house. All of the information you will need during your stay is meticulously organized in easy to use binders. That includes information about the house and any info you will need about Flagstaff. As for the home itself: It is in perfect condition, very functional and has a cozy feel to it. It sure feels bigger than 2300 square feet. I think two families could easily share this home for a week. We brought our three young children with us and they just loved it. We all spent about an hour in the hot tub under the bright stars. I can't say enough good things about this place. This is a great place to stay on Flagstaff, if you want to relax and spend a quality family vacation and have fun, you have to visit this Chalet. The Nakai Chalet was a beautiful cabin with everything we could possibly have wanted. Clara was a joy to work with, she made everything easy and stress free.
