Clara was great to work with. The cabin was beautiful and very spacious. We rented the cabin to celebrate my wife's birthday and couldn't be happier. I ordered some roses to be delivered the day we arrived and the cleaning crew signed for them and had extra vases made available for us when we arrived!! Nice touch! Thank you Home away for a great experience.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to have our Easter family gathering! The roomy and open downstairs made it easy for us to enjoy each others company while cooking, relaxing, playing pool,reading,watching a movie or enjoying our one year old granddaughter toddle back and forth from the kitchen to the family room with happy greetings for us all. We especially appreciated the well appointed kitchen to prepare our Easter feast and family meals.The family dinning room easily accommodated six adults and three children.The big oak table also doubled as an art and cookie decorating area. One starry night we even had a lovely candlelit meal outside on the deck. The hot tub was enjoyed by all of course, as was the side yard where we had our egg hunt. From the quality bedding and throws to the toys in the closets, the owners thoughtful and welcoming touch was everywhere. The cabin's location made getting out for day trips very easy as well. All in all a perfect family get away retreat!

Our family really loved our three days we spent in this rental. It is so cozy and very close to sledding and skiing options. We had four children under the age of four with us and it was so roomy and quiet. The front closet had great toys, a toddler stool and booster seats for our family to use. Also they provided crib and pack and play. It was a great way to ring in 2012. Thank you to the owners for all the great amenities. We will be back again!

Our family spent Christmas in the chalet and couldn't rate it highly enough. The chalet is located within easy reach of Flagstaff and all it's amenities and is close to the highways for venturing further afield. The chalet itself had everything you could possibly need and was spotlessly clean. The chalet was warm even on the coldest days and has a real home from home feel. As this was the first Christmas we had spent away from home we didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be one of the best Christmas holidays we have ever had and the chalet had a large part to play in that. Tubing, sledding and iceskating with the kids was great fun. Great atmosphere in Black Barts steakhouse and Macy's coffeehouse really hit the spot on cold days. Booking process with the owner was very efficient and she was always available if we had any questions. All in all it is a place we would definately recommend if you want to stay in the Flagstaff area.

Hi Clara, We just returned from a magical weekend in the snow. The cabin was cozy and had everything we could have possibly needed! The kids enjoyed the toys and movies. The adults loved the hot-tub. We appreciated all the special touches in the well stocked kitchen and bedrooms. Perfect for kids - baby gate, pack n play, blocks, books... you name it! A short distance to sledding and parks. About 30 minutes drive to WIlliams where we enjoyed the Polar Express trainride to the "North Pole". Thanks Clara for everything!! Merry Christmas,

What a great place to stay. We took three kids with us ranging in age from 3-19 and the all had a blast. The older children had a great time playing pool and ping-pong and sledding on some fun hills in the near area. The 3 year-old had a blast on the little hill just outside our house as well as some of the bigger hills. We built snowmen and had snowball fights and came in and enjoyed hot chocolate and sugar cookies. The rooms were great and the beds were comfortable. Everything was very well stocked and clean.. Clara really had thought of everything. We cooked everyday while we were there and saved a great deal of money by not eating out and the kitchen was good sized with all the cooking materials you would need. Clara is very kind and friendly and always available to get a hold of and talk to when we needed something (like when we locked ourselves out of the house and forgot my wifes glasses when we came home - she promptly got us back in the house and sent my wife's glasses to us as quickly as she found them) This was a great house to stay in and well worth the upgrade from a hotel room. Great place to stay for a winter retreat!

Fantastic Flagstaff house

This is an incredible house to rent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The discussions between the owner and myself was always helpful, even speaking on the phone from England!! The house is wonderful - fantastic rooms, clean, helpful bits and pieces in the kitchen, a BBQ and plenty of space and our kids really enjoyed the ping pong!! The hot tub was great too! It was a brilliant place for a week's holiday location - we went to Grand Canyon (twice), Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater and had a wonderful time! Great memories!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and had a great vacation. All of the rooms were roomy and nicely appointed. The kitchen was supplied much better than other places we’ve stayed at. We especially enjoyed the pool and Ping-Pong table as well as the hot tub after a busy day. They provided a fun family environment and a welcomed change from only having TV for entertainment. We would highly recommend the cabin as lodging for any activity in and around Flagstaff, and can’t think of anything to change.

This was a perfect place for our family to explore Arizona. We had a combination of couples meet in Arizona to explore. The location was great by it being 1-2 hours away from many Arizona's "must sees". The cabin itself, was wonderful. It was spacious and fulfilled all of our needs for the trip. We would not hesitate to return.

NAKAI CABIN

Spacious cabin located very close to Flagstaff. We stayed during the month of June. Excellent location to visit The Grand Canyon, meteor crater, Slide Rock State Park, Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, Route 66, San Francisco Peaks and beyond! This cabin works well for a big family or group or for just 3 peeps like us. After coming home from siteseeing, we were glad to relax in the hot tub, play a game of pool, or just view the tv. Fyi, we did see a pizza delivery truck in the area, so we are sure that is an option for dinner as well. Otherwise, cook on the awesome grill supplied as we did. If we come back to Arizona, it will be Nakai! Clean and comfortable ammenties. Tour guidebooks galore! Enjoy!

Hi, Clara Thanks so much for enhancing our experience at your home. The Chalet was just as you said it would be. We enjyoyed the remote location and yet still just a short drive to were you want to go. We like to drive to touristy places and come back to peace and quiet. We enjoyed your billiard and ping pong table immensely.. I'm a big BBQ Guy so we used your BBQ 5 out of the 8 days we were there for lunch and dinner. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi on the patio ..The scenic drive to Sadona was great, the roundt rip dirve to the "Grand Canyon" was eye opening. We saw elk leaving the Grand Canyon. We went in the East end and out the South end. Did not see the same thing twice. We will suggest your Chalet to many of our other friends. We plan on coming back soon for another stay. What an amazing week! We were somewhat dismayed to arrive in Flagstaff to a foot of snow, but when we woke up the next morning and saw that bright blue sky and amazing sunshine it was all good! Clara's home could not have accomodated us better. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and the perfect location for exploring that beautiful part of the country. Clara's thoughtfulness and attention to detail only made it even better. We're already planning our trip back!

Great Flagstaff Area Rental

This Chalet was very clean & provided many amenities for visitors to the Flagstaff area. We found the house to be ideally located just 2 hours to the Grand Canyon and 1 hour to beautiful Sedona! Totally worth the trip. Convenient to the Snowbowl and snow-play area also. Close to Lowell Observatory. Comfortable home, Clara is a delightful person to deal with. I would definitely recommend this to families with teenagers or anyone looking for a nice place to stay to experience the mountains and canyons of Arizona.

Amazing Cabin, Amazing Time!

We decided to escape the warm winter of Phoenix for a few days and found this perfect cabin. The cabin had absolutly everything that we could have needed, not to mention the fact that it is beautiful! It is so cozy, it makes you feel like your at home. The cabin is close to the city while being far enough away to give you the seculsion you look for when renting a cabin. I would absolutly rent this cabin again. Clara, the owner, was extreamly helpful and welcoming. She makes sure to make her home your home. Just wish there had been more snow! Thanks Clara!

This was the best place I've ever stayed at in flagstaff. It was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need or image. Perfect place for kids and adults. Beds were comfortable and I had the greatest time. I will definitly stay there again it was so amazing! No other place in flagstaff compares to this cabin, everything is close by park, gas station and my kids can't wait to go back!

The "Perfect" Home Away From Home

We visited Flagstaff with our adult children ranging in ages from 20 to 25. The cabin was well equipped to fulfill all our needs! There were games/pool table/ping pong table/ hot tub for our entertainment. The owners had detailed instructions on how to operate the cable/stereo/internet so we were able to hook our Macbook up to the system to listen to our own music and there speakers were wonderful. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of glass/plastic drinking cups. Many dishes and pots/pans! We were able to cook on the grill on the deck and also had a large table for seating! Everyone had their own rooms/beds with nice sheets/blankets! The cabin was full of everything we needed, and the location was also perfect. It was only 10 minutes into town if you needed groceries. A Walmart for mittens that were forgotten! Or a nice restaurant! There was many to choose from and the cabin had a binder full of any information you might need while visiting an unfamiliar place!! The cabin was spacious/ clean/ and well maintained!! WE all LOVED it and would highly recommend it to everyone! Old and young, if a couple was unable to do stairs, there was a downstairs large bedroom with a queen sized bed and a bathroom right next door. The laundry room is on the main level also. We spent a day snow boarding/skiing at Snobowl and was so nice to have a short drive to get there!! WE will all be back again for any further vacations to the North Woods. I lived in Wisconsin for 43 years and currently am in Chandler for the last 2 yrs. Flagstaff was beautiful and the rental property was perfect!! We plan to stay again when we make our plans to visit the Grand Canyon, it's a hop/skip/jump from this location!! Thank You for shariing you beautiful home with all of us! We really can't say enough positive things about our stay!! We also look forward to spending time there in the summer months. There is a nice yard with lots of grass and an area to play badmitton/volleyball. Oh I forgot to mention the view off the back deck with the mountains in the distance was unforgettable! <3

Fabuloso fin de año, en medio del bosque con 17" de nieve. A pesar de caer una tormenta invernal justo al llegar a la cabaña la pasamos excelente!, las instalaciones son de lo mejor, vimos peliculas, la variedad de libros que tiene son muy interesantes, la mesa de billar y el jugar ping pong fue muy divertido adicional la variedad de juegos de mesa muy completos, en resumen se cuenta con todo y nunca pasamos un momento aburrido gracias a las excelentes instalaciones con que cuenta la cabaña. La recomendamos ampliamente, fue nuestro primer viaje a esta cabaña y dificilmente cambiariamos por otra pues es la mejor equipada, limpia y confortable. Gracias Clara

My family and I stayed here at the beginning of December. There were 7 of us. The place is beautiful! We felt right at home during our stay. Clara is so sweet and helpful. We had everything that we needed there. It didn't snow while we were there, but it had snowed a couple of days before we arrived so the snow was still on the ground the whole time we were there! We were able to do plenty of sledding and the kids loved building a snowman. We would definitely stay here again if Clara would have us!

Beautiful Flagstaff Getaway!

For several months, my friends and I had been wanting to rent a house in either Flagstaff or Sedona but had never gotten around to seriously looking. Once I did some searching around online, I knew the Nakai Chalet would be the place as soon as I saw it. Besides the fact that the house is completely beautiful, my favorite thing is that they really have something for everyone (and I mean everyone!). Of all the vacation rentals I've stayed in, I've never stayed someplace that took so much care to ensure that every person (young, old, couples, children, etc.) would be completely taken care of while staying at the chalet. Since I was staying at the chalet with my boyfriend and another couple, we spent a majority of our trip actually in the house taking full advantage of all of the amenities they had to offer. The pool and ping pong table provided hours of fun, making dinner on the outside grill in the beautiful weather was fantastic, and I can't begin to say enough about the hot tub! Being outside under the stars while enjoying the tub was extremely relaxing and we took advantage of it every night! In addition, we were all amazed by how stocked with amenities each part of the house was. The bathrooms included shampoo, conditioner, and lotion and plenty of fresh towels to use while staying there, while the kitchen contained everything you would need to make any kind of meal (fully equipped kitchen that included utensils, pots, pants, salt, pepper, coffee, coffee maker, etc.) Although we brought no children with us, I was also extremely impressed with all of things for children that were also included (kids DVDS, board games, and a crib!). I honestly don't have enough good things to say about the Nakai Chalet and really feel as if I could go on and on about how great it was. The house is perfectly maintained, beautiful, offers a wonderful and relaxing time, and I most definitely plan to stay there again in the future!

Well equipped clean chalet

We enjoyed our 4 night stay in the Chalet. Clara was very helpful, even organising a water kettle for us to make our tea. It was a very efficient key collection, with many easy instuctions regarding garbage etc. It is probably the best equipped place we have stayed in, with good quality equipment. We particually liked visiting Sodona, and the Grand Canyon was an comfortable distance away. We hope to return.

We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights at Nakai Chalet in September. The house is very clean and beds are so comfortable. It really felt like home. Clara has a very well stocked kitchen and games for the kids as well. I would recommend it as a great family vacation home. We did not get to try the hot tub but it looks beautiful and very clean. Clara is wonderful to work with and we would definitely stay again if we are in Flagstaff next year.

Stayed at this beautiful home last summer for almost a week. We have two small children, a 2 1/2 year old and a 10month old. The house is set up perfectly for children with a great big back yard to play in and toys or movies inside. Then when the kids went to bed we would steal away to the jacuzzi tub. what a perfect break from the 100+ degree summer in Phoenix. Thank you for sharing your home! Clara was very thorough in setting up this rental! She has all the amenities of home! I stayed for 5 nights with my two boys (ages 12 and 8). We loved this property! We had plenty of space and easily could have taken another family with us! We were out and about during the days but it was so nice to have a "home away from home" to return to every night. And with kids it was perfect to have a place to have breakfast and dinner without having to go out to eat for every meal! I would absolutely recommend this property...the location was great, the house was beautiful and Clara was beyond accommodating and easy to work with!

We loved it here, only wished we could have stayed longer, the cleanliness, the attention to detail, the help we received, the owner you are truly awesome - thank you from all of us, we got stuck here due to volcano and the owner went out of her way to help us. WE loved the fact you are eco friendly, recycling, dishwasher stuff, laundry liquid etc and have I mentioned how clean it was!!! This vacation rental was a fabulous find. The chalet is spacious, well appointed with everything my own home has in the kitchen, as well as things to do (Pool table, ping-pong, board games, DVD's) should there be inclement weather. Great location (6 minutes from downtown Flagstaff so shopping is not a problem, Sedona 1/2 hour, Grand Canyon 1.5 hours) The drives going further North toward Page, and South past Sedona on 89A are spectacular. My kids (Ages 10,12, & 14) enjoyed the vast southwest.

We rented this cabin for a four day weekend with our two kids- ages 1 and 3. Packing was simple because a full size crib, booster seats, play mat, and lots of toys and children's movies were already included in the cabin! The kids LOVED playing with the new toys and having a fenced play space in the backyard. My husband and I loved the hot tub after the kids went to bed! It was so relaxing and quite an experience to sit in a 102 degree hot tub when it's 29 degrees outside and snowing!! The owner was very accommodating easy to work with and she's really done a nice job and making you feel right at home in the cabin. It's terrific to have all the comforts of home - including cable and internet, which a lot of places don't have. We traveled in February of 2010 and had quite a snowstorm come through! We loved seeing the large snowflakes fall and seeing all the trees covered in white! The kids had never seen so much snow, so it was very exciting for them. We were able to do lots of sledding and build a large snowman in the backyard with the provided snowman making kit. We will keep this place at the top of our list for future northern Arizona stays and would love to come back with the grandparents now that we know there is plenty of space for a large family and tons of amenities! We stayed in Flagstaff for two weeks in the early Fall of 2009. We used Nakai Chalet as our home base because we thought it would be better for our four-year-old than being in a new hotel every night as we drove around the area. I was concerned, at first about renting a house, sight unseen. But my initial contact with Clara was very positive, friendly and helpful, so I decided to take the plunge. I am so glad we did. Every contact I had with Clara was positive. Her care for the house and for her guests is very obvious in everything from the promptness of her replies, to the stocking of the house. It shows up in the smallest details and made for a wonderful trip. The smaller bed just outside the master bedroom was the absolutely perfect place for our son to sleep. And our idea for staying in one place and just taking day trips out and about worked perfectly for us. We could cook a bunch of food one night, then when we'd get back tired and happy from a great day at the Grand Canyon, or Sedona, or wherever, we could just kick back, have some leftovers and watch a movie. It was just the perfect way to spend a vacation. We did have one emergency during our stay, the brand new furnace stopped working one morning. But even that turned into a chance to display the care and service of the owners. As soon as we realized that it was getting colder instead of warmer, we called Clara. She worked very hard to get it fixed and was able to get it all going right again. Her consideration for us, her tireless efforts to get it fixed were just what they should have been. It's easy to write a positive review when everything goes right. To me it's even more significant when you can write positively when something goes wrong. So, don't hesitate any longer. The house is great, the location is great (much quieter than downtown Flagstaff with its twice-daily trains), and in really good order. We have already recommended this house to others, and would never hesitate staying there again. Thanks, Clara for all your hospitality.

We just spent a relaxing weekend at the Nakai Chalet and had a wonderful time. This is the first time that we stayed in a vacation rental home instead of a hotel -- and it was perfect.The house is close to very charming downtown Flagstaff, with all the shops and cafes that come along with a university town; and yet the chalet is in the mountains and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. You get the best of both worlds. The chalet is in immaculate condition, and the bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. It's difficult to say which season would be best to use the chalet--if you feel like spending a cozy weekend enjoying the snow from the hot tub, winter would be great. But in the summer, you would be able to enjoy the great deck, use the grill, and smell the pine trees under the night sky. Kids would love this place, and it would be perfect even for a group of friends who just want to hang out for the weekend and get away from the Phoenix heat. We'd definitely recommend this house. We stayed here for my Flagstaff wedding last month. The owner was so helpful before we came out. She had so many resources for us and great tips for the wedding. The Chalet was beautiful. It was close enough to everything to be convenient. The hot tub was fabulous under the stars! There were so many things to do in the chalet for downtime: internet, ping pong, relaxing on the deck plus a fully equiped kitchen. No detail was overlooked! This place is a treat.

We own timeshares but decided it's a good idea not to use our points in Flagstaff area because I came across couple of ads including this one with good deals but speaking with Clara made it easier for us to decide. Like what I told you Clara, only after we saw the cabin - from the towels and linens to the kitchen wares and the details you put in this place that we truly understand what you meant when you said "It's special". There was a saying "It takes more than good memory to have good memories" and we want to thank you because your cabin provided us with the good memories.

Clara, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! We visited Nakai Chalet for a ski/snowboarding weekend in Flagstaff with friends and it was perfect. The cabin was even larger and more comfortable than we even expected, every little detail has been attended to. The beds were very comfortable, and it was so quiet, we slept like rocks. Pictures can not do it justice. To anyone considering this property, I recommend it without hesitation, and I am usually a 4 to 5-star hotel kind of person. Fantastic value and so many more possibilities than a hotel if you're traveling with family or friends. A true gem!! Thanks again, we'll be back next season ~

My family and I loved your cabin, we had a great relaxing time, my daughter loved the snow and played for hours. the cabin is decorated very nice and cozy, nice detailed in every room. and the owner very nice and helpful to any of our needs.We will defenitly vacation there again in the future, there will be no need to look for another cabin, this one is as nice if not nicer than all the cabins around the area, thank you for having us.
