Location: Prescott, Main Arizona (excludes Phoenix, Tucson & South AZ), Arizona, USA (Located in Walker just 7 Miles SE Prescott off Highway 69)
Accommodations: Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)
The Ponderosa Cottage is located in the heart of the Prescott National Forest which is located a short drive from the historic (once the state capital) town of Prescott. The area is known as Walker. The forest is dense with large tall Ponderosa Pines that sound like the ocean surf when the breeze blows. At 6,300 feet in elevation the daytime summer temperatures are moderate and the evenings cool. The cottage is a completely outfitted luxury guest house with lots of privacy at the Ponderosa Lodge residence.
Access is easy being only 7 miles from Prescott and only a short stretch of gravel road to the driveway. Bring your books, your hiking shoes and be prepared to relax and enjoy our cool, clean air. There are short casual hikes to the Charcoal Kiln built in 1880 and old mines as well as longer hikes to more mines and mountain vistas including the forest lookout towers at Spruce Mountain and Mount Union. Lynx Lake is only 3 miles towards town.
The distance from I-17 and the Carefree Highway (north Phoenix) is 77 miles or about 1 hour and 25 minutes.
