We had a wonderful time this past week in this comfortable, well-appointed condo at Kona Isle. What a pleasure it was to sit on the lanai every morning watching the waves break, listening the the birds, and seeing the resident gecko in the palm tree nearby.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks for your kind words Karen. We kind of like our lanai too with it's great view of just about everything worth seeing. We had to come home a bit early this year otherwise we'd likely still be there for a few more days. I hope we can serve you again. Aloha, Harald

"Your condo was a true home away from home.We especially enjoyed you extended lanai with its wonderful sea view and resident geckos. The location is ideal ... right on the water but also on Alii Dr. ... good for a walk into town but far enough away to be peaceful. Having use of the vehicle made getting around easy. I enjoyed the golf thoroughly, much to my surprise. The Big Island Country Club is ideal. Its higher altitude meant we could play in comfort and the wildlife was fascinating."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

" I must tell you both how much I enjoyed your home. It had everything I could have asked for and more. I was still discovering things up until my departure. It was the most well equipped condo I have ever rented and I have been to quite a few. The car was perfect for the island roads and very comfortable. I would definitely be interested in renting again next yearDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: After several years of renting condos along Alii Dr. we eventually stumbled onto Kona Isle and knew immediately that this is where we would want to stay from now on. We rented for the first two years then this unit came on the market and we jumped at the opportunity. We have what we and others consider to be about the best view possible from our corner unit out over the solar heated pool, our private beach and the ocean. Our renovations have been extensive. First we enlarged the lanai and installed a double wide sliding door to make it more accommodating for entertaining and open air dining. The floors were tiled, new cabinets throughout, repainted, ceiling fans installed in all rooms, granite counters, new appliances, all new dinnerware & cutlery, new lighting, 37" flatscreen TV, stereo, DVD player, and some unusual art objects and a walk-in shower complete the work to date. Since this was to be our home-away-from-home, we wanted it to be as perfect as possible. But we still have a few things to do as time permits. We truly hope you enjoy our "Taste of Paradise37
Why the Owner Chose Kona Isle:
Kona Isle is centrally situated just 2 miles from Kailua village ... close enough for a good walk but far enough for quiet restful evenings on your lanai. In the other direction, its only a couple of miles to some intriguing snorkeling, boogie boarding, or relaxing on Magic Sand Beach. The International Market is only a short drive from Kona Isle and offers crafts and curios and a Friday morning Ukulele show. Just up the hill from Kona Isle you will find the Arts & Crafts village of Holualoa. Just 1/4 mile south, right on the beach and frequented by many Kona Isle visitors and owners, is the non-denominational "Living Stone Church". We know you'll appreciate our location and find your vacation more enjoyable because of it.
Aloha, Doreen & Harald
