Gorgeous Home in Peaceful Setting

The Bar-M log home is not far from the tourist town of Canon City and just south of the cowboy town of Westcliffe and a perfect place to stay that is close to great mountain activities. That's why we chose it. We were able to have quality time, explore the outdoors along the "Rainbow Trail" (located just 20 minutes across the valley), and see the wildlife from the patio. We watched the mule deer graze on the property! The accommodations were much more than we could have ever imagined or expected - extremely well cared for, new, and clean. They had everything we needed! The kitchen area is large so many of our conversations, game playing, and daily brain storming for activities occurred around the table. We also liked the game table in the loft. There are many hiking maps and reference books for the guests that give you helpful information about hiking trails and field trips that are close by--like our visit to Mission Wolf! We highly recommend white water rafting with Noah's Ark. They were fabulous and the water was wild! Touring the Great Sand Dunes National Park was amazing as well! There is much too see and do, but at the same time you could opt to do nothing and enjoy the quietness of the house/landscape, which we did. The owners were attentive to our questions both prior to arrival and during our stay. We would love to return to the Bar-M for more adventures and relaxation. This was one of our most memorable vacations with friends and children. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us!!!

Nice Summer Vacation

We really loved the cabin. Nice,clean, cozy. Plenty of room. We did many day trips: Bear basin ranch, Mission Wolf, Trout D Bar Ranch for trout fishing! We had a blast! The cabin is located close to all these activities. We ate two wonderful meals at Sangrita's in town and also ate at The Dawg Haus.It is also easy to get to the Royal Gorge. They had great hot dogs. I would recommend this cabin for any year round vacation plans.

Birthday/Anniversary Weekend

After arriving in a hail storm w/ 3 scared kids we were happy to relax. & WE DID!! It was a beautiful cabin that was very cozy w/ plenty of room to hide away & read a book while the kids played too! My kids fell in love w/ the place & wanted to move in. We had a count the deer competition every night & # of prairie dogs crossing the road as we traveled the road to & from town. We celebrated my husband's birthday & our 13th Anniversary during our stay. I LOVED the fact that there was spices & flour available as we didn't think of these when at the grocery store! Everyone in town was so nice & helpful & we needed to call the property manager for a question & he was readily available & easy to contact. We would recommend the getaway to everyone!!! Had a great weekend!

The stay at the cabin was fantastic!!!! We not only went to the Royal Gorge, we went ATVing in the Rocky Mountains, river rafting thru the Royal Gorge, gambling in Cripple Creek and did a lot of sight seeing. We didn't have much time for relaxing....LOL.....We saw lots of mule deer and even saw a black bear on morning when were leaving or one of our excursions.... Thanks for letting us vacation in your cabin.....We are telllng all our friends and relatives about it.....

Awesome Sangres Adventure!

We had an AMAZING time at your cabin! What a beautiful, peaceful place! It was the perfect place for the three of us and all 6 of our children to rest, eat together outside, play games and have lots of fun! We went to Bishop's Castle one day, and Mission Wolf the other. We had a truly great time. Also, as the cook, I really appreciated how well stocked your kitchen was in terms of cookware and spices, etc. Your vacation home and its furnishings were absolutely perfect- we couldn't have asked for more!

Great Cabin in the Mountains

Almost every summer my wife and I escape to the mountains for some cooler weather and hiking and fishing. This year we discovered the Bar M. The cabin was just as we hoped it would be. The kitchen had everything we needed including skillets just right for cooking the trout we caught. You can get a nice breeze thru the cabin no matter the wind direction and we slept soundly each night until the song birds would gently remind us that the trout were waiting nearby. Thanks for allowing us stay at your home.

Fabulous Vacation Home

Every morning we sat on the patio in the cool air and sipped coffee while watching the sun rise over the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. It is very peaceful and the air is fresh at the Bar-M. We hiked through the quiet neighborhood a couple mornings and saw some amazing views of the Sangres. We also hiked to Music Pass-a wonderful trail that isn't too hard and very pretty. It was not far from the cabin. We took a great horse ride up to a mountain lake and did some fishing! We even saw an eagle and a herd of elk. The nearby town of Westcliffe/Silvercliff had nice restaurants, a parade, a rodeo, friendly people and many boutiques for shopping. The owners were delightful to work with and very attentive. The home is very well supplied with blankets, towels and plenty of dishes and cookware in the kitchen. The home is clean and well maintained--everything worked! We can't recommend this cabin highly enough.

Thanks so much for allowing our stay at your cabin. It is such an AWESOME place. We kept commenting on how well the place was stocked, how clean it was and really how perfect it was for our weekend. We love the Westcliffe area and found your place to be the perfect proximity and the views were wonderful. Hoping we can rent it again soon!

This cabin is neatly laid out and has the extras you need to really enjoy your stay. The hosts are sweet and the property manager is very accommodating. We were blessed to see herds of deer, an eagle, and other wildlife while on the property! Comfy beds and a roasty fireplace make this a true Colorado vacation spot.

What an awesome log home! After a rather crazy year back East, this was just the break that we needed from our hectic lives. This is a magnificent location with endless views over to the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Just South of the charming ranching town of Westcliffe, this place is the perfect get-a-way for anyone looking to totally unplug from the pace of modern life. You won't believe your eyes when you come to this pristine valley! Be prepared to see a billion stars overhead... to hear peace and quiet, and (bonus for us and likely for you too) was a ten point buck who made his home right next to the house! I promise you, you will love this amazing log home, the views, the comfort, and how well it was kept and managed! The owners were super friendly and the property managers well-organized.

Amazing Get-Away House

The house was amazing, the area incredible, and the people were wonderful. I must say, the house was one of those surprises that actually was nicer in reality than the pictures, and the pictures were nice! Not always how it works out with VRBO, but this was one of those good surprises. Plus it was totally immaculate! By the way, we saw a black bear a few roads down from the house before hitting the main road to town. It was neat.

This home is all it's reported to be and more. It was very clean & comfortable for 4 adults and 3 children; everyone had plenty of space for various activities. The kitchen is well supplied. Property is one hour or less driving from many tourist activities.
