Originally built in 1999, The Victorian House by The Sea warmly welcomes guests with its splendor. The emphasis is on comfort, and comfortable surroundings. Being only about 100 yards from the ocean, cool breezes flood in through attractive plantation shutters.
Enjoy the homes stunning ocean view, many porches and balconies to help you unwind. Inside the home, relax in the parlor with a cup of tea and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies or a cordial of Amaretto.
The home is conveniently located to the Carlsbad Seaside Village, just steps from sandy beaches, and minutes to shopping, restaurants and all that Carlsbad has to offer.

The master suite is just delightful; meticulously decorated with a lovely ocean view. It boasts a walnut bed and serpentine rosewood dresser. In the master suite is a cozy sitting nook with two ladies chairs and gentleman’s chair as well.
The second suite represents the Eastlake style of furnishings. Charles Eastlake advocated for a return to a more simplistic and rectangular approach to furniture. It was in affect a reaction to the overblown, pretentious, and ponderous fashion of the chronologically preceding stage of the renaissance Revival style.
Finally, the third suite in the house is committed to the Mission style of furnishings and decorative elements. The oak tri-partite linen fold screen is characteristic of William Morris’ emphasis on medieval craftsmanship emulate in England during the Arts and Crafts period
– Each lovingly trimmed suite with unique touches and comforting heirlooms.
As you move into the kitchen you will see an old world colorful patented (1893) Enterprise coffee grinder with its original decals and eagle finial. The butcher’s block, with its fabulous distinctive legs, is from Lyons, France and dates around 1890. The diamond Dyes store cabinet is all original and the center island in the kitchen was once a nail bin in an Iowa hardware shop. The Queen Anne stove is a reproduction. The fretwork hanging from the ceiling has an 1890’s patent date and the ruby-red-and cobalt-blue cut-to-clear window is Bohemia glass and the hardware is dated 1853. Enjoy a scrumptious homemade breakfast served on an elegant setting of china and lace in your dining room. Enjoying a delicious cup of coffee you can begin planning your day. |
