Oh my, what a fabulous week. The leaves were spectacular. You know, we cook "in" every evening and so enjoy the grand views. Our group of 6 has joined us as houseguests for a few years now and we adore the ease of entertaining at Lakewood Lodge. Thank you for sharing with us. Have a great fall. P.S. The fishing guide out of Sylva/Dillsboro through Highland Hiker was great again & we so enjoy the cocktail cruise on Lake Glenville through Signal Ridge Marina.

This is our second year in a row staying at Lakewood Lodge. We find the house very clean, comfortable, well organised & lacking nothing, apart from a tea kettle for us Brits! We love the club & all it has to offer - tennis, gym, family golf, kayaking, boating. Our girls love the lake for swimming, waterskiing, tubing & it never gets too busy. We also love to hike & this year went white water rafting & zip lining. There are activiities for all ages in the area. THe club restaurants are pleasant, with great views, plus we enjoy driving into Highlands where there are some very nice restaurants. We love coming back to this house after a day of activities as it has wonderful porch swings for reading or relaxing, an abundance of games & DVD's plus wi-fi which is a must for my husband & kids!! Jo & Doug are excellent hosts & very efficient with paperwork & checking to see all is going well. We hope to return next year. -The Dixon Family, Sarasota, FL

this is our 2nd stay in beautiful lakewood lodge. we had even more fun than the last time. there is so much to do... hiking, tubing or kayaking on the lake, indoor and outdoor tennis, golf course and chipping trail, swimming in the heated pool or lounging in the spa. of course, in the quiet of the morning, the swing or gliders on the outside deck, w/a cup of coffee and a good book, can hardly be beaten. all 3 generations are already planning our 3rd stay. thank you so much for sharing this oasis in the mountains.

What a time yet again to enjoy your well equipped and well appointed home!! Our guests, 3 couples from Macon, just love your home. All of us love to cook and feel very much "at home". Your kitchen is so grand for entertaining. Thank you again for sharing. The fishing was great through Highland Hiker (with guides) and the Trillium pontoon boat cocktail cruise an added treat. We highly recommend Old Edwards Inn & Spa for lunch and spa. Wild Thyme restaurant is a must every visit. Thank you for all you have done for us to insure a fabulous time.

What a lovely home you have and what gracious hosts you are! Our long weekend stay was action packed and relaxing at the same time. Your house was perfect for our families' vacation. The pictures are great, but the place is even better than the pictures. It felt like we were in our own private, and huge, tree house up in the trees and over looking the lake. My family and I loved it. The community was great as well. Lots to do and see.

We had a fabulous stay at Lakewood Lodge. The house is set up beautifully for our two families (3 generations) .... total privacy on each level if you prefer, and yet a sense of togetherness whenever you want. You have everything one could ask for to make the stay memorable. We especially loved reading outside on the swing seats in the late afternoon, and watching the wild life while breakfasting on the deck each morning. The staff at the lake, golf course, tennis courts, and pool were very accommodating and knowledgeable. Thanks for your recommendations to try the sky line ride and the tubing. Not only did the 10 and 14yr olds enjoy them, but the adults did as well. Although we mostly took the easier hikes, they rewarded us with some astounding views for miles around, some beautiful waterfalls, and quiet picnic spots. Lakewood Lodge is an easy drive to Cashiers, Highlands, Sapphire Valley, and even close enough to the Asheville area for a fun day's visit. The farmer's market in town has great brisket and barbeque, and the supermarket fills in the staples just fine. There is also a bakery in town that has the best bread! We will definitely be returning to Lakewood Lodge. Next time, we will pack fewer clothes (the washer and dryer are new and efficient), no food or spices (all the basics were in the pantry), no dvds, no cards, no games ... you have it all. The week we rented, the weather was perfect, but had it rained every day, the house was a vacation in itself. Thank you for a lovely stay. It was all we had hoped for.

My 3 sisters and I take an annual trip together. This was our first trip to the mountains, we usually go to the beach. Your home was just beautiful and so well organized. My beautiful mother wrote in 2003, - 91 yrs. old. She died this past July 6th, 2006. We had to come back. She is everywhere here. She loved this house & NC so much. We have had a wonderful three weeks of "retreat" in your beautiful home. We have fallen in love with the area & have purchased a home 5 minutes away on Summer Hill! During our stay, hurricane Katrina destroyed the Gulf Coast of LA & Alabama & Miss. Our hearts have broken as we watched the precious souls who have lost all of their earthly possessions & many who have lost loved ones. We are reminded how fragile life is.
