This house was rebuilt in 2006. Everything is quite new, immaculate, and well thought-out. The house comes fully furnished.
The landscaping is low-water, sustainable, and is served by gardeners who come once each week. The grounds are tastefully lit at night.
The glass-enclosed dining room overlooking the backyard is perfect for breakfast, lunch, and formal dinner parties. The doors open all the way up to take advantage of living in such a great climate. A propane barbecue in the back allows for outdoor cooking. Retire after dinner to the gas-powered fire pit behind the house.
There's a nine-hole golf course across the street, a public park one block away (with tennis and basketball courts, children's play equipment and sand, and softball/baseball/soccer fields, all of which are lit for evening use, too). The beach is a 1.5 mile walk away. Close to Main St., the Third Street Promenade, Pier, and all Santa Monica and Los Angeles has to offer.

Because our daughter was getting married in LA, a sizable house was needed for my wife and me along with our two other kids and their spouses. Throw in a sister and brother in law, and we had one busy place. The house worked out well, each having their own bedroom. The computer/TV came in most handy when finding a route for rehearsal dinner, wedding venue, eateries, etc., as well as keeping up with the NFL Draft. Visits from other family and friends posed no problems as there was more than adequate parking. We thoroughly enjoyed the manicured backyard and the firepit in the evenings and chilly mornings, along with daytime walks through the lovely neighborhood. The location was great-a very quiet street other than an occasional fly-over from the Santa Monica Airport. Access to Santa Monica and the freeways was quite easy, as were the frequent trips to LAX. The only negative feature is that the hardwood floors throughout the home tended to carry noise and conversations to the open upstairs bedroom. But that really didn't prove to be a problem. The Owner was also very accomodating throughout our planning and stay, helping us out in numerous ways. In all, we had a great time in LA, and would readily stay there again for a future family affair.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.
