Nestled in a woodland forest in the Village of Sugar Mountain, this custom-built luxury log cabin, completed April 2008, is less than 2 miles to Sugar Mountain Ski/Golf Resort. With an elevation of over 4800 feet, cool breezes tantalize the spirit in summer, bring brilliant hues in autumn, and lush snow in winter.
This spacious and magnificant 3-level log cabin, decorated in a rustic mountain lodge theme, comfortably accommodates up to 14 guests. With an open floor plan, three large bedrooms, kids bunk room and sleeping area in the finished basement, 2nd family room and game room w/bar, and three and a half bathrooms, every comfort has been considered in furnishings, décor and functional design.
On the main living floor, the open floor plan offers a spacious entry and foyer, great room, dining room and kitchen. The 20-foot stacked cobblestone fireplace is perfect for wood burning fires. A 37-inch LCD flat screen TV with cable service and DVD player are the perfect hosts for relaxing, viewing sporting events, or other entertainment. Soaring vaulted tongue and groove ceilings with magnificent windows provide for a spectacular ambiance and warm character. The main floor master suite features a king size bed, 35” TV/DVD, direct access to the rear private deck stretching across the back of the cabin, and private master bathroom. The master bathroom has a large closet, double granite vanities, private toilet area, jacuzzi-tub and a large enclosed shower for two.
Upstairs, two large bedrooms have a queen-size beds and views of the mountainside. A large bath with granite double sinks and large tub is dedicated for the upstairs guest. Each bedroom in the cabin is equipped with TV/DVD and cable service.
Downstairs is where the fun is with game room, wet bar,refrigerater, family room with entertainment center, and kids sleeping area with Double bunk beds with a sleeping trundle, tv-dvd and game cube console.
With more than 3250 square feet, this fantastic mountain lodge is the perfect destination for large families or small groups wishing to tuck away into the North Carolina mountains and absorb the peace and tranquility the high country has to offer. In spring, summer and fall, enjoy the private rear decks with rocking chairs, picnic table, BBQ and mountain views in the winter; and a wonderful view into the foliage of the wooded forest abundant with wildlife and birds in the summer. The large covered portion of the rear deck allows you to continue to rock and enjoy nature at its finest during gentle summer rains and cook up a nice BBQ if desired for the cooks in the group. A seasonal creek flows through the side of the home more than 9 months of the year. Step away from highway congestion and the stresses of day-to-day life as you relax and take in the beauty surrounding this luxurious home.
The kitchen has new stainless steel appliances, granite counters, and is fully equipped to support your culinary needs. A full size washer and dryer are located below in the finished basement.
Ample parking for up to 3 cars is provided directly in front of the lodge and room for 2 more in the backside of the property. Four-wheel drive or chains required.
Nestled next to Sugar Mountain, the community of Banner Elk offers shopping, a good selection of restaurants, live theatre, and a full array of community events. Beech Mountain, also known as Ski Beech, is located 10 miles to the north of Sugar Mountain, as well as Hawksnest and Appalachian ski resorts, which are within a 25 mi radius. Other popular vacation attractions such as Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad,Valle Crucis and Boone are located less than 30 minutes away.
