Ruth Corbett Farris was a lobster man’s wife and daughter of the Little River Lighthouse keeper. She raised her children in this traditional home. Ruth’s Retreat welcomes people for a relaxing family vacation, an inspiring artist or writer’s retreat, or a peaceful sabbatical.
Sleeps 5-6 people in two cozy bedrooms with double beds, plus one futon and a pull-out couch in other rooms. Bed linens and towels are provided. There is one full bath with a claw-foot tub and shower. The fully-equipped kitchen and pantry include a gas cook stove. In the summer, Fundy Bay breezes naturally cool the home while an oil furnace provides heat on chilly days. There is a modern washing machine and the best fresh-air drying Downeast.
"¡Gracias! Our stay was beyond special. We shall not forget our visit and the honor to stay at Ruth's Retreat. We enjoyed the photos, pictures, drawings, books, decorations, mementos, kitchenwares, and the many other elements that make this such a warm and cozy home. The surroundings are spectacular and will stay in our memories on this 2008 lighthouse odyssey.
