We're a couple without children, so it's not always easy to find a place that's both small enough to be reasonably priced for two and well-located. This house is wonderful - just the right size for a small family, in a lovely, unpretentious beach community, and within a short drive of many excellent restaurants and stores. We grilled on the patio almost every night, and enjoyed the great views all day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

My husband, 1yr old daughter and I would come back to this place in a heart beat! We were looking for a quick getaway where we could hear and see the waves from our windows and we got it! The cleanliness and beachy decor made it very relaxing inside. And the beach was great for walking and finding shells. Because of the breakers, the waves were tamer. The community immediately surrounding was nice to walk in with a stroller and Old Saybrook had great charm with lots of places to eat. We even found a Starbucks for my husband.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, families with young children.
