Kayakers and nature lovers take note! Our compact 4 bedroom, 2 bath home on 7+ waterfront acres in Orleans offers extraordinary privacy with exquisite water views of historic Arey's Pond, part of Pleasant Bay. The adjoining 8+ acres of conservation land lets you leave the crowds behind.
A private landing, steps from the house, brings kayaking, boating, fishing and clamming to your front yard, along with direct access to Pleasant Bay, prime water for sailing, and the Atlantic Ocean. With a screened porch, the house faces west for peaceful sunsets and refreshing breezes. Almost every room has a water view. With 2 bedrooms down and 2 up, the house sleeps 8 on two kings and four twins with a bathroom on each floor.
Nauset and Skaket beaches and the Bike Trail are each about four miles by local roads; two freshwater swimming lakes are within a mile on quiet kid-safe lanes. This is a great back-road area for walking, biking, and enjoying nature, yet it's convenient to downtown Orleans and Chatham with their great shopping and restaurants.
Our fully equipped home offers much that is new. The bathrooms have just been completely renovated with granite and solid surface vanity tops, all new tile, Grohe faucets, and other nice features. The main floor has new tile in all the rooms and the whole house is freshly painted. New appliances include front-loading washer, dryer, and dishwasher. The renovations didn't change the character of the house, which offers the classic summer house feel, with an easy flow to the outside and the sense of experiencing the authentic Old Cape Cod. When you're having a relaxing dinner on the porch watching the sun set after a day at the beach or on the water, you'll know what makes Cape Cod so special!
Please note: Although it sleeps 8, the house is compact and the living area is more comfortable for six or fewer people, with room for guests when needed.
Handicap Accessibility: No steps at all to enter the first floor. However the doorways are not wide. (The first floor has kitchen, living/dining room, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and screened porch. First floor bath has shower with a 4" lip and glass surround, no bathtub.)

Orleans offers proximity to shopping and easy local-road access to all areas of eastern Cape Cod, while having an astonishing variety of water to choose from. Besides the famous Nauset Beach, there is Cape Cod Bay (Skaket Beach and Rock Harbor), Pleasant Bay and its tributaries, and great swimming lakes.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The screened porch overlooking Arey's Pond forms the heart of a real Cape vacation. We can watch sailboats coming in and out of the Pond, watch the swans, ducks, and herons catching their dinner, and enjoy the extraordinary privacy that comes from being on an exceptionally large piece of property. We can take a quick kayak ride just before dusk or watch the tide for the best moment to go fishing or clamming. We can walk down the driveway and have miles of gravel back roads available to us for walking and biking with two freshwater swimming lakes an easy bike ride away. On summer nights, with the windows open, the house feels like a sleeping porch with lots of the amazing Cape Cod fresh air. When we're here, we eat well, sleep well, do lots of things together and just unwind.
