Why the Owner Chose Eugene
The Little Pink House was brand new in 2008. Given it's location to the University of Oregon, we decided to list the home on VRBO. Having traveled the world and staying in VRBO properties ourself, we thought it would be a wonderful way to preserve the house, and meet wonderful people. When we listed the Little Pink House it was one of five VRBO properties in Eugene! We are now nearly word of mouth having visitors return time and time again. We love the fact that so many have loved staying at our Little Pink House.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The Little Pink house is blocks away from the arena, Hayward Field and even Autzen Stadium. It is set off of the street, yet only steps from Historic Fairmount Blvd.
Owner's Map of Eugene
We own both the Fairmount House and the Little Pink House. We have stayed in VRBO properties, in Greece, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Panama, the United States, Germany and Mexico and had absolutely wonderful experiences in every property. We want to provide that for our guests as well. We have hosted guests from many countries and actually had the opportunity to get to know some of them.

My family, (toddler, husband and I) stayed here while I was in Eugene for an educational training. Everything about the experience was wonderful. The house is lovely and clean. The cost per night is an incredible value! The location is perfect. 15 min walk from 1 end of the U and 25 min to the far other end. We really barely used the car the entire time we were there. The owners were wonderful too. Kind and responsive!!!! I also have to add this a great place to stay with a small child. They have some toys, a stroller and a pack n play in the house. Overall an excellent place to stay :)

I stayed for a week in July, 2011. I arrived, got my key from the secure box, walked in and was instantly impressed. The place was clean, well appointed and comfortable for a hot day and no central AC. The week I arrived it got into the mid-upper 80's, which is warm for Eugene. I never needed an AC. The kitchen is huge and contains almost anything you could want. And if it didn't have something, you could ask the owner for it and they would bring it over for you. I never had to do that, but they told me to ask. The bedrooms are upstairs and the bath is down, which is not at all inconvenient. They even provided tabletop fans in each bedroom and there was a ceiling fan in the living area. The closets were roomy and one bedroom had a nice dresser and bench. The other bedroom was a bit smaller, but still plenty of room; after all, you are mostly just sleeping in those rooms. The living area is very cozy (a bit small for a large crowd), but very comfortable. Having wireless internet and cable and a DVD player was a godsend! It was very quiet up there too. The house on one side seemed to be a VRBO also and it was huge and gorgeous. They partied and I never heard them. So this house is well insulated. The neighborhood is really pretty too and great for going on walks. You can park in the alley above the house or out on the street and walk up the stone walkway. I opted to park in the alley; it was closer. There's a Market of Choice within walking distance, it's awesome with all its offerings and organic food and bakery and deli, but it's very expensive. You might want to do your grocery shopping elsewhere. I loved feeling that I had a home during my stay and not just a hotel room. Hands down, this was the best deal in town! I will definitely be staying again next year. They do ask that you clean out the refrigerator upon leaving. So if you have leftovers and think you'll leave them for the next round of guests, you really need to take it with you. You never know how soon the next guests will arrive and the food could spoil. I primarily ate my breakfasts at the house and dined with family for lunches and dinners. But you can fix about anything in that kitchen. The outdoor grill is available too, though I never used it. The owners don't bug you at all, but like I said if you needed anything, they are just a phone call or email away. This experience has sold me on VRBO properties. I'll probably never stay in a hotel again, if I can help it.
Owner response:Thank you so much for this wonderful review! It made my day! Today we replaced the television with a brand new 42 inch flat screen and added a new coffee table and end table. I'm currently searching for a new table for the kitchen as well. One of the best things about being a VRBO owner is knowing that people enjoy staying in your rentals. I too am sold on VRBO. We are heading to Paris soon and will be visiting a previous guest. While we are in Europe we will be staying in VRBO properties as well. I hope you do indeed return soon! Again, thank you for making my day!

My husband and I have visited The Little Pink House several times and each time we come and stay, something new and wonderful has changed about the house. This time there was new art on the walls, new sleeper sofa and a charming brick patio with pathway to the historic Fairmount neighborhood. We enjoyed our short walk to the University every day and found The Little Pink House just the perfect secluded place to relax at the end of each day. All of the bedding is incredibly clean and comfortable, the white fluffy towels always smell wonderful, and the kitchen is completely stocked with every gadget a cook could need to create a gourmet meal. The fabulous homeowner always makes the house perfect for our arrival and has even remembered our special requests from our past visits. I would highly recommend staying at The Little Pink House, where you will feel right at home from the minute you arrive and your expectations will be exceeded from your first contact with the homeowner. Truly, a lovely place to hide away.

My friend and I stayed here while visiting for a graduation party. It was a great location and such a cute and homey place. It would be great for a long stay or a short one. Nice quiet area but minutes from downtown. We had some problems with the heat while staying there, but emailed Laura when we returned and I heard back from her the same day that the breaker for living room had been flipped somehow. Very responsive. We'd choose to stay here again.
Owner response:Thanks Christine! I really appreciate the review! Heat is fine now, thanks for letting me know right away. We hope to see you again soon. Best, Lara

Our son recently started a graduate program at the University so we selected the Little Pink House as our "home base" for a visit over the Thanksgiving holiday. The choice could not have been more perfect. The home was spotless and anything we could have possibly needed was available. We even made pies to take to our son's house for Thanksgiving dinner. The location is in a lovely neighborhood and we never heard a sound during the night. The owners were incredibly accommodating and responded to any question or need immediately. It's a three year program for our son so we hope to be spending many more visits in the Little Pink House. This is a rental we would highly recommend to anyone inquiring about accommodations in Eugene.

We were fortunate enough to rent The Little Pink House for two weeks, from April 16 through April 30. We were there for the birth of our daughter's baby, and the home was perfect. The amenities are wonderful, the location beautiful, and the owners very kind and responsive. Thanks so much.

The Little Pink House was PERFECT for our 5 day art retreat at the Emerald Art Center in Springfield! My friend and I each had our own room, there was a Market of Choice near-by, and it took only a few minutes over the bridge to Springfield! A great location, a comfortable space, and a very reasonable rate! We will stay again!!!

We were the 1st to rent The Little Pink house in July. The location was perfect, 5 blocks to th U of O, just below Hendricks Park. During our stay, there was construction work next door which was okay (except at 7:00 on Sunday morning), but it should be close to complete by now. Very cozy with a nice kitchen/living room area, surround sound speakers, washer/dryer which was great with a toddler in tow. The 2 bedrooms are upstairs and are smallish but very comfortable. Very quiet neighborhood, property is at the end of an alley. Plan to stay again!
Owner response:Construction next door is done!
