Eugene house description

The Little Pink House is just blocks away from the University of Oregon,The new Arena, and Historic Hayward Field. It is also a short walk from Autzen Stadium and our beautiful bike paths along the Willamette River. The free EMX bus is only blocks away and will take you to the heart of down town for the Farmer's Market, Saturday Market or just to experience Eugene. We are located in the heart of the historic Fairmount Neighborhood which boasts many bakeries, restaurants, organic markets and the famed Prince Puckler's Ice Cream Parlor. Although the Little Pink House is only one year old it was built on the foundation of the very first stage coach station in Eugene. The Pink House is tucked away, and located in a wonderful wooded neighborhood, however it is only steps away from Fairmount Blvd. The house is located on a private alley with it's own parking. We have recently added a lovely path from the pink house which will take you straight to Fairmount Blvd. We now have bikes upon request as well.

We have now added a brand new sleeper sofa to the house allowing accommodations for six. Additionally, we added a 42 inch flat screen high def. television.

The Pink House is furnished with the best hotel beds linens and towels. The kitchen is fully furnished with pots, pans, dishes, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, coffee and tea. The house has a new gas barbecue, surround sound, cable television, sky lights, wireless internet and comfortable furniture. We have literature in the house regarding Eugene and it's many attractions, as well as the Willamette Valley. We are close to fishing, hiking, boating, biking, wine tasting...you name it! We have coolers, fishing equipment and even a GPS on request. We know you will enjoy our 'hide away'! Email inquiries only please.

My adult son and I stayed this past July and absolutely loved the house. The view from the little patio is priceless and reminded of why I so loved living in Eugene back years ago. The house is lovely, very comfortable and really cute. Convenient items and little surprises are stocked throughout. Thank you so much!

My daughter and I stayed at the Little Pink House recently when we took my granddaughter to U of O summer school. It was perfect for us. Set back in a lovely residential area, the house was so quiet and peaceful. It's open and airy amid lovely trees. Although we ate out for meals, there was everything available to cook anything we might have wanted. It was totally equipped with everything we needed and more. Lara was so accommodating through several reservation changes. We will be back for many visits.

Our son and daughter-in-law are both graduate students at the university and my wife and I, plus our oldest son and his family, wanted to be together for the Thanksgiving holiday. We have stayed at the Little Pink House in the past and loved it. We had our two Golden Retrievers with us this trip so I rented the house for our son, daughter-in-law and our four year old Granddaughter. As in the past, everything was perfect. The location is close to the university as well as shopping and parks. The neighborhood is very quiet and quite beautiful. A great location for a pleasant stroll or a jog. The house is well equiped with all the requisite kitchen equipment for any type of meal preparation. In our particular case, a couple pumpkin pies for the Thanksgiving dinner. They were wonderful. The owners are available for any local information or activity suggestions and are more than willing to please. I would highly recommend the Little Pink House to anyone looking for a great accommodation in Eugene.

We recently stayed at The Little Pink House while in Oregon attending a family wedding. The property was perfect for our family, my boys (age 3 & 6) especially enjoyed the closet of toys and games! The location was great and we enjoyed the well stocked kitchen. Upon returning home we realized that we left my youngest son's favorite blanket at the Little Pink House; I emailed Lara and she found it and promptly shipped it back to us! We would recommend this property to anyone staying in the Eugene area; great location and Lara was wonderful! Thank you!

I would like to thank The Little Pink House Owners for making our sad situation easier. Our Father passed away and we needed to be close to Campus and in walking distance to a organic store, The Market of Choice is awesome and the prices are reasonable. The Little Pink House gives you everything you need, especially if you have children! We have a 11 month old and a 3 year old. Kitchen is well equipped, I am a caterer and it means a lot for me to say that! I was able to cook real homemade meals! The bathroom had a shower head that was tall enough for my husband and I to wash our hair. He is 6'6 and I am 6'4. Quality Linen and Mattresses. If they will allow us to stay again, it is where we will always stay when in Eugene our home away from home... The Little Pink House. We all loved it! My three year old still wants to go back and live in her giant doll house.

My family, (toddler, husband and I) stayed here while I was in Eugene for an educational training. Everything about the experience was wonderful. The house is lovely and clean. The cost per night is an incredible value! The location is perfect. 15 min walk from 1 end of the U and 25 min to the far other end. We really barely used the car the entire time we were there. The owners were wonderful too. Kind and responsive!!!! I also have to add this a great place to stay with a small child. They have some toys, a stroller and a pack n play in the house. Overall an excellent place to stay :)

I stayed for a week in July, 2011. I arrived, got my key from the secure box, walked in and was instantly impressed. The place was clean, well appointed and comfortable for a hot day and no central AC. The week I arrived it got into the mid-upper 80's, which is warm for Eugene. I never needed an AC. The kitchen is huge and contains almost anything you could want. And if it didn't have something, you could ask the owner for it and they would bring it over for you. I never had to do that, but they told me to ask. The bedrooms are upstairs and the bath is down, which is not at all inconvenient. They even provided tabletop fans in each bedroom and there was a ceiling fan in the living area. The closets were roomy and one bedroom had a nice dresser and bench. The other bedroom was a bit smaller, but still plenty of room; after all, you are mostly just sleeping in those rooms. The living area is very cozy (a bit small for a large crowd), but very comfortable. Having wireless internet and cable and a DVD player was a godsend! It was very quiet up there too. The house on one side seemed to be a VRBO also and it was huge and gorgeous. They partied and I never heard them. So this house is well insulated. The neighborhood is really pretty too and great for going on walks. You can park in the alley above the house or out on the street and walk up the stone walkway. I opted to park in the alley; it was closer. There's a Market of Choice within walking distance, it's awesome with all its offerings and organic food and bakery and deli, but it's very expensive. You might want to do your grocery shopping elsewhere. I loved feeling that I had a home during my stay and not just a hotel room. Hands down, this was the best deal in town! I will definitely be staying again next year. They do ask that you clean out the refrigerator upon leaving. So if you have leftovers and think you'll leave them for the next round of guests, you really need to take it with you. You never know how soon the next guests will arrive and the food could spoil. I primarily ate my breakfasts at the house and dined with family for lunches and dinners. But you can fix about anything in that kitchen. The outdoor grill is available too, though I never used it. The owners don't bug you at all, but like I said if you needed anything, they are just a phone call or email away. This experience has sold me on VRBO properties. I'll probably never stay in a hotel again, if I can help it.

Owner response: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! It made my day! Today we replaced the television with a brand new 42 inch flat screen and added a new coffee table and end table. I'm currently searching for a new table for the kitchen as well. One of the best things about being a VRBO owner is knowing that people enjoy staying in your rentals. I too am sold on VRBO. We are heading to Paris soon and will be visiting a previous guest. While we are in Europe we will be staying in VRBO properties as well. I hope you do indeed return soon! Again, thank you for making my day!

My husband and I have visited The Little Pink House several times and each time we come and stay, something new and wonderful has changed about the house. This time there was new art on the walls, new sleeper sofa and a charming brick patio with pathway to the historic Fairmount neighborhood. We enjoyed our short walk to the University every day and found The Little Pink House just the perfect secluded place to relax at the end of each day. All of the bedding is incredibly clean and comfortable, the white fluffy towels always smell wonderful, and the kitchen is completely stocked with every gadget a cook could need to create a gourmet meal. The fabulous homeowner always makes the house perfect for our arrival and has even remembered our special requests from our past visits. I would highly recommend staying at The Little Pink House, where you will feel right at home from the minute you arrive and your expectations will be exceeded from your first contact with the homeowner. Truly, a lovely place to hide away.

My friend and I stayed here while visiting for a graduation party. It was a great location and such a cute and homey place. It would be great for a long stay or a short one. Nice quiet area but minutes from downtown. We had some problems with the heat while staying there, but emailed Laura when we returned and I heard back from her the same day that the breaker for living room had been flipped somehow. Very responsive. We'd choose to stay here again.

Our son recently started a graduate program at the University so we selected the Little Pink House as our "home base" for a visit over the Thanksgiving holiday. The choice could not have been more perfect. The home was spotless and anything we could have possibly needed was available. We even made pies to take to our son's house for Thanksgiving dinner. The location is in a lovely neighborhood and we never heard a sound during the night. The owners were incredibly accommodating and responded to any question or need immediately. It's a three year program for our son so we hope to be spending many more visits in the Little Pink House. This is a rental we would highly recommend to anyone inquiring about accommodations in Eugene.

                      Notes:

The Little Pink House has never been more than $100 per night. We don't believe in doubling or tripling our rates for "special events" such as Duck Football games. We provide a beautiful home steps from the University of Oregon at the same rate we started with in 2008. We host many parents of U of O students and pride ourselves on giving our guests an affordable experience in Eugene.

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2008

About the owner: We have stayed in VRBO properties, in Greece, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Panama, the United States, Germany and Mexico and had absolutely wonderful experiences in every property. We want to provide that for our guests as well. We have recently used The Little Pink House as a long time rental for visitors to the University of Oregon as we are only blocks from campus.

                      Why the Owner Chose Eugene:
The Little Pink House was brand new in 2008. Given it's location to the University of Oregon, we decided to list the home on VRBO. Having traveled the world and staying in VRBO properties ourself, we thought it would be a wonderful way to preserve the house, and meet wonderful people. When we listed the Little Pink House it was one of five VRBO properties in Eugene! We are now nearly word of mouth having visitors return time and time again. We love the fact that so many have loved staying at our Little Pink House.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
The Little Pink house is blocks away from the arena, Hayward Field and even Autzen Stadium. It is set off of the street, yet only steps from Historic Fairmount Blvd.
