entry into "The Hummingbird" - Monte Rio, California Vacation Cottage Our smallest cottage, this is a comfortable and well designed, studio cottage, with a very large, privacy fenced deck, that brings the indoors out. It is a lovely little private, romantic, studio cottage for two, with spa, kitchen w/ black granite counter tops, lots and lots of decks, barbeque, nicely furnished, cable TV, Wi-Fi, phone and had luxury linens provided. It is located 1/2 block from the Village Inn and 1 1/2 blocks from the Highland Dell, two historic hotels with fine restaurants and comfortable bars that over look the Russian River. We are within walking distance to the Bohemian Grove, Monte Rio Beach, a local diner, with great homemade food, and community tennis courts. Northwoods Golf Course is about a 3/4 mile east on River Road and it is 6 miles to the Pacific Coast (at Jenner), 4 miles to Guerneville, 4 miles to Duncan's Mills, 6 miles to Occidental, 30 minutes from Santa Rosa and About 1 1/4 hour to San Francisco. We are located within driving distance of many Sonoma County wineries. Designed to let you retreat to your own vacation wonderland or gather with friends and family for social reunions, Monte Rio Cottages can be rented individually or together. Three of the four cottages were built at the turn of the 1900's. All have been completely renovated with 21st century amenities. Artistically designed, the cottages are joined by on extensive deck that is separated by many gates. You can keep your cottage private with your gates closed or open all of the gates for use of the entire compound by one group. We have just remodeled the whole compound (four sweet cottages, a studio and 3 one bedrooms, that sleep from 1-6 people)and we are very proud of how it has turned out. We think that it is sweet and comfortable and we hope that you will like it too. We have a two night minimum all year three day minimum for holiday and special local events. A security deposit and cleaning fee are required. The cost for the studio pictured below is $175 per night, weekends and $155/ night, mid week, with special weekly and winter rates. If you rent it for the whole week, you pay for 6 nights and get the 7th night free. As we said, we have 3 larger units, that range in size and are priced from $200 to $300, with special mid week, weekly and winter rates. Please call me for more pictures and to ask questions.
