We stayed at Bocas Villas March 13th through the 19th 2010 and had a delightful stay. The accomodations were just as nice as pictured. The owner provided all the services stated plus many extras. It is a delightfully secluded location with the benefit of being a short boat ride into town. 2 boat shuttles per day are included and other trips or tours can be arranged. There is no land access to the town. The owner went out of his way to be helpful yet was also unintrusive. He is located on the property and is readily available to answer questions or assist you with any arrangements. The villas have corals and reef literally visible from your private deck. You don't even have to get wet to view them as the water is clear and shallow. However we definitely recommend getting in and snorkling your "home reef". The owner will loan you a Kayak for those interested. We recommend taking a boat tour with the villa's boat Capt. He was incredibly friendly and accomodating during our entire visit. What a pleasure to leave from your villa with your personal Capt and go to one of the amazing spots nearby. We went to Starfish Beach and Bocas Del Drago for an afternoon which was simply blissfull.All of our arrangements for pick up and drop off were right on time throughout or visit. Bear in mind the villas are solar powered and that electricity is limited. Only the bedroom has air conditioning and that may only be available a couple of hours a day. As of now there is no cable or satellite for the TV but DVDs are available onsite. With that being said we were very comfortable. I was very satisfied with our decision to stay here and feel it was an excellant value. We also had no saftey concerns. We left our things in the villa with the doors and windows wide open! We divided our meals, eating in town about half the time and cooking for ourselves the rest. All the local restaurants we tried were very good and very reasonable by US standards. All and all we had a terrifc time and highly recommend a stay here. We not only would recommend this place to others we already have.
Owner response:This was a very nice couple and I just want to clarify something that I think they would agree with. We are on solar power and there is a finite amount of electricity that we can produce, but we do have a large system with backup generators. We do ask guests to limit there own usage to necessity, especially of the a/c which uses alot of power. Guests here are renting an eco-friendly villa and they do need to participate in that lifestyle to some degree at least while they are here.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
