Why the Owner Chose West Seattle
We choose this property to build our home, because it is tucked away in the trees, and has a beautiful overlook of the ravine. Our home is second from the end of the street, very quiet,
and is just a few feet from Fauntelroy Park, where there are wonderful trails, that head down towards the water, the Fauntleroy Ferry Dock and Lincoln Park.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
We go a little over the top, offering our breakfast goodies, and a bottle of NW Wine for weekly guests, but everyone needs to be treated a little "Special". If you have an occasion, such as an anniversary, birthday, and you let us know, we can include a little surprise for you.......
We also offer a catering company called "Good Eats, the owner is our personal friend, and one of the best Northwest Cooks around -how does Crab Cakes, Grilled Halibut or Salmon, Beef Wellington,
sound? and she delivers...... Bon Appetit
Owner's Map of West Seattle
My husband and I built our custom home in 1997. We created a wonderful mother in law apartment above our garage of which we rented for many years to a boeing engineer.
Last year, we decided to grow grapevines, redecorate the apartment and join VRBO and Homeaway Connect. This is alot of fun for us, as we have had visitors from all over the States, Canada, and now Europe. We love people, so this a perfect addition to our life..

A peaceful haven close to city, sea and mountains

We chose Grapevine Loft for a convenient place to stay whilst we visited Seattle for a few days prior to our cruise to Alaska. Our main intention was to adjust to the jet lag of our journey from England, but our stay was so much more. The description of the apartment and the phootgraphs barely did it justice. From ease of travel from the airport and ease of travel by public bus to the city and local beaches, to the peace, comfort and cleanliness of the "Loft" and from the generous and delicious brreakfast items to the warm welcome of our hosts, everything was perfect. It was a great start to our holiday and we would certainly try to book the apartment again if we visited Seattle. We recommend Grapevine Loft without reservation.
Owner response:The Grapevine Loft has received so many wonderful people from all parts of the world. Each guest has been delightful, and it's such fun to see people, so thrilled with the flowers, breakfast amenities, completely enjoying our beautiful loft. The vines are growing, the flowers are in full bloom, the barbeque is awaiting........... Hope to see you soon, Jill & Detlef - owners

We had a wonderful visit to Seattle, my husband's home town. I'm so glad we found this terrific place to stay. Having the washer and dryer was a super plus. The small apartment was perfect. The owners were great and we would absolutely stay there again.

This was a lovely retreat for us to stay in while visiting our family in Seattle. The deck filled with flowers welcomed us each morning. It was so convenient to be able to wake up and prepare breakfast without the hassle of grocery shopping. We did visit the local markets for fresh produce and seafood to prepare evening meals at the end of our busy days. Walks in the neighborhoods of Seattle in the summer are like visiting gardens. We even ventured to Mount Rainier on a very rare cloudless day in Seattle. The owners have made this a very comfortable home away from home.

I was extremely happy with my stay at "The Grapevine Loft". What you see (in the pictures that is) is exactly what you get. There were no surprises, everything was just as I imagined it would be, very clean, well maintained, very convenient and extremely quiet. It you want a retreat that's away from the hustle and bustle, then this is for you. I will definitely stay here on my next visit to West Seattle.

Our thanks for another wonderful stay at the Grapevine Loft! Everything was perfect. This has become our little home away from home. ( In fact, I think I sleep better here than at home) We loved all your special touches that make the loft so inviting - the colorful flowers, breakfast goodies and comfortable bed.

West Seattle offers a great contrast to the city centre, while being only a short ride to the downtown sights. Fauntleroy park is next door, a great way to get to the beach. Grapevine Loft offers every comfort and being provided with breakfast gives the added attraction equal to a B&B without having to get dressed. Our hosts were there when we needed help and gave us a great welcome. Highly recommended.

We arrived late for our stay at the Grape Vine Loft. When we opened the door, we were greeted by a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the glass dining table, a huge bowl of fruit, a refrigerator full of food, and freshly made beds. There were five of us. The bedroom with a big screen tv was the best place to sleep, but the double mattress queen blow up bed was reported to be very comfortable. The leather couch is long and wide, and so made a 5th bed for us. We had the best time! There is a grocery store near by,so we used the great barbeque and sat out on the deck which is filled with pots of flowers. The birds were heavenly to listen to, but there was also a nice selection of cd's. The location is perfect because you feel like you are in a tree house in the middle of nowhere, yet it is easy to get on the freeway and head on in to downtown Seattle. Wonderful!

This is the perfect spot for a quiet haven in the city. We've stayed here a couple times now, and we're looking forward to our next visit. Nice, bright open living areas--a great outdoor space to enjoy--a very comfortable bed--and a refrigerator full of breakfast goodies. I almost hate to recommend it because I want to be sure it's available for our next visit!

"This apartment was cheerful, comfortable beds, spacious enough for 3. The proprietors provided a nice breakfast, fruit, homemade jam, and a bottle of wine in welcome. We were visiting family who live in the neighborhood, but it is just 4 blocks from a direct bus to downtown Seattle. We will probably book a return stay when we visit again."

"while visiting family that lives nearby, this was a perfect option since hotels are few and far between here. The homeowner was very accomodating, setting up the couch and an additional air mattress for my kids to sleep on. Groceries were waiting in the fridge for breakfasts, and having the washing machine and dryer was very convenient! The kids especially liked having a comfortable place to hang out. I hope to stay here again and again!"
