This award-winning, 2600 sq. ft. home is luxuriously furnished with modern amenities and surrounded by views of British Columbia's Coastal Mountains. The Dutch Colonial style of this professionally decorated 3 bedroom plus library (4th bedroom) and 3.5 bathroom heritage home was lovingly maintained throughout a complete renovation in 2007. On the main floor, the dining and living rooms seat 8 guests comfortably, with a baby grand piano, handsome fireplace and beautiful garden views. Cooks will delight in the gourmet kitchen spaciously designed with a professional range, stainless steel appliances and a cozy breakfast nook. Enjoy the vast rear deck outfitted with a natural gas barbeque and plenty of seating area. There is ample room for parking and the estate-sized gardens are lush, yet useable.
One block from Haddon House lies Deer Lake - one of Metro Vancouver's best-kept secrets with its abundance of walking and biking trails, canoe and paddle-boat rentals and picnic areas. Also within easy walking distance is the area's cultural hub with live performances taking place year-round. Drive a short 5 minutes to British Columbia's largest shopping mall, or park your car for the day and take a 15-minute Skytrain ride into the heart of Vancouver's downtown.
Concierge services and prompt assistance is provided by the hosts residing in a separate self-contained suite, offering the best of both worlds to our guests - privacy and hands-on assistance where required.
Our gourmet kitchen comes fully stocked with an initial supply of all basic food staples, including milk, cream, eggs, sugar, coffee, tea, flour, breakfast cereals and condiments (jam etc) as well as an unlimited supply of soft drinks. It is also equipped with stainless steel appliances, a Miele dishwasher, French style refrigerator, toaster oven, blender, kettle, coffee maker, coffee grinder, warming drawer and convection oven.

Amazing Mother/Daughter Gathering!

Haddon House was our gracious home for our weekend gathering of four mother/grown daughter 'couples' in early April. From the moment we walked in the doors and were warmly greeted by Johannes, we knew we had happened upon one of those magical spaces that glows in memory for a lifetime. Everything was in place for an easy, luxurious time together from the well stocked fridge and larder to exquisite decor and furnishings. We created feasts together in the wonderful kitchen and ate in the gorgeous dining room. We lazed and chatted over morning coffee in the breakfast nook. We read and reminisced in the living room. Magical indeed! We will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway.

We rented the whole house for our family of 8. So beautiful and comfortable as well. The property was impeccable, gardens well manicured and location beautiful. Innkeepers were there if needed. Would recommend this place to everyone.Owner response: Nancy, we are so delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Haddon House so much. It is always gratifying when guests are able to share our love of the beautiful home, gardens and neighbourhood we live in!

You cannot find a better home away from home than this! This house is absolutely stunning. As good as the pictures are, they don't even do justice to the type of experience you actually get by staying there. Yes, the location, the neighborhood, the architecture, the garden, the furniture, the decor, the complimentary food and beverages all contributed to the fantastic experience. But here are a few other things that I find warmth in addition to the charms of this home: 1) Bathrobes and disposable sandals are provided. Bath towels not only appear super clean, they actually look as if brand new. 2) With a party of 7 adults and 2 young children, I was concerned about bathroom crunch-time. The 3 full baths and 1 half bath not only accommodated everyone's needs easily, but always with hot running water even with full capacity simultaneous use. 3) A large umbrella is provided right by the front door ready for the Vancouver rain as we arrive! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Vancouver, you won't be disappointed!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

An Amazing Birthday Celebration!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Haddon House and had the most incredible experience. Family came in from across the country and from the US and it was the perfect place to gather for a 3 day celebration. The home is immaculate, beautifully appointed and comfortable. It was an ideal setting by Deer Lake where we could go for walks and close enough to travel downtown Vancouver and up into Burnaby. Johannes was a charming host, he was very gracious and gave us our space but was there if we required any assistance. The kitchen was well equipped with every imaginable utensil. We would return in a heartbeat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My group of 7 friends spent 3 nights at Haddon House. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer. The house is beautifully renovated with all the modern conveniences but exuded old-world charm. The description provided does not do the house justice. This is one of the best homes I've had the privilege of renting. The kitchen and refrigerator were so well stocked that even our group of 7 did not have enough time to enjoy all the fresh fruits and bakery items supplied. We so enjoyed the house that we chose to return each evening for dinner rather than going out to a restaurant. The hosts are totally committed to providing a wonderful experience and went out of their way to accomplish that effect. The location is very convenient to getting around the greater Vancouver area, but in a quiet neighborhood of lovely homes. We would recommend Haddon House to anyone looking for a comfortable, charming, luxurious home away from home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We ended a trip from Seattle, through Victoria, in Vancouver, and staying in the wonderfully charming Haddon House. We had our 3 generation family staying there, and our hosts were so friendly and accommodating, we would have liked to have spent more time just relaxing at the property; but there was also so much sight-seeing to do! There is a beautiful lake at the end of the road, called Deer Lake, and on our first evening, we walked all around it - that's a lovely thing to do, and so it makes the property so well located. We enjoyed cooking and eating together in the house (many basics and more were provided, which was a lovely touch because it meant that we didn't have to rush out shopping straight away for a change), and we also made use of the bbq, and outside dining area. All in all, this is a great place to make home for a few nights, very charming, and a wonderful base from which to explore the Vancouver area.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

First of all I would like to thank Marie and JOhannes for allowing me and my family to spend our weeklong holiday in their lovely Haddon House. The house was way beyond my expectations and the host was really hospitable. The kitchen was stocked with the basic necessaties and it was very easy to use all the appliances. The appliances are all modern and of great quality. Most importantly, my kids really enjoyed playing the grand piano although they hardly played it at home. Duchess, the labrador was very friendly and my kids couldnt wait to see her on every morning hoping to touch and play with her. Host was not intrusive and we have our privacy throughout our stay. I highly recommend Haddon House to those who are looking for a charming yet modern holiday home with a beautiful styled engish garden as your yard. You will not regret once you have decided on this one. Besides these points, the location of Haddon House is a short drive to the city, Grouse Mountain and Capilano Bridge which are the main attractions in Vancouver.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
