Take a healthy stride of just over half a mile to the village, which is sprinkled with many unique shops, restaurants to satisfy every palette, and let the art galleries draw you in, or admire the antiquities staged in the windows.
A brisk 2 block saunter can lead you to Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch. Get acquainted with the distinctive homes of Carmel by the Sea, while cycling up and down the streets, bicycles are provided at your disposal. These activities can bring on an appetite, so step into the remodeled kitchen and prepare a light snack or a feast, this kitchen is sure to handle whatever you bring.

musical tune, complimented by the light breezes whispering in your ear. The backyard is a serene atmosphere that is perfect for reading a good book under the Monterey Cypress trees that filer the sun’s ray. Weather a bit bitter. It may call for the fireplace to

The Quail's Nest has been our Carmel retreat many times during the past 4 years. My husband and I have rented the Nest a month at time and it feels just like home! We love the charming feel of the Nest, the fully stocked kitchen with great appliances, the incredibly comfortable kingsize bed, the inviting and private backyard, and the front balcony where we sit enjoy in the view of Carmel Highlands. There is everything you need - just walk-in and start soaking in the peaceful feel of this home and spectacular Carmel by the Sea. We have always found it spotless with everything we need. I have spent time here on my own and feel completely comfortable and safe. I highly recommend it for a recharging and reflecting personal get-away too! The location is ideal. A short walk in any direction takes you to all Carmel has to offer. We love walking each morning to Carmel River Beach, in the evening we head west 3 blocks to watch the sunset on Scenic Drive. Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch is a five minute walk for lovely patio dinner. You can walk into downtown Carmel in 15 minutes and it's a great way to enjoy the quaint cottages, or the oceanfront walk - Scenic Drive. Other reviews mention 'magical' and they are spot on. We love this place! The owner, Erik, is terrific! He is accommodating, accessible, knowledgeable and lovely to work with. This quaint home in the Carmel-by-the-Sea area is gorgeous and has every amenity you could imagine. The owner doesn't miss a beat and even has peanuts to feed very friendly blue birds. What a treat to stay and relax in such a beautiful environment! We took long walks with the most spectacular views on our coastline. The Carmel Mission is nearby and added to the spiritual nature of our trip. A quick drive will bring you to the 17 mile drive area and Cannery Row where the Monterey Aquarium is located. This is a spectacular part of CA and the drive from Southern CA is topped with a visit through Big Sur. A fantastic and romantic trip for any couple!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This is our second stay at the Quail's Nest and again we had a wonderful time. The home is clean, decorated with great care and the patio outside is quaint and pretty! There is a very large collection of cd's to listen to as well as movies to watch, although we were too busy seeing the sights to sit still long enough for a movie. Everything is furnished, all we brought was food to cook and wine to drink! We are already looking forward to our stay next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

This was not my first time to the Quail's Nest and certainly won't be my last. The home is absolutely perfect and has everything you need. I love waking up in the mornings and opening the door to feed the blue jay and walking down to the beach for a long beautiful walk. The location is great and we ended up walking to dinner one night in the dark which was quite an adventure but there was a flashlight to help guide our way. The fireplace is so great to light on a cold night and the quietness that surrounds the Quail's Nest allows for a great deal of R & R. I can not say enough wonderful things about this enchanting and magical place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We spent New Years at the lovely home. Just hung out by the fireplace and enjoyed the hugh selections of CD's. The cottage had everything, including Starbucks coffee we ground up every morning, while watching the Today show. We walked to the beach and bird sanctuary. Drove to Point Lobos for a day hike with lunch. I love Camel and this home, we hope to return later this year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Stayed at Quails Nest for 2 weeks. My husband and I enjoyed all the amenities offered. House was very comfortable, and romantic. Everything within easy walking distance. Took advantage of the barbecue, and wide selection of DVD's available. Would highly recommend the Quails Nest to family and friends. Hope to make a return visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Quails Nest was everything and more than what we were hoping for! As soon as we arrived, the front porch felt welcoming, familiar, cozy! We felt like we were Royalty with the luxurious bed, heavenly. We were able to venture off to town, and virtually did not need our car the whole time. Quails nest has all the conveniences of home, and more. Sitting in front of the fireplace, in the two high back leather chairs was a great treat. Quail's Nest is a gem. The location is perfect; just a short walk to the beaches of Carmel and the beautiful views of Point Lobos. The cottage is comfortable and well appointed with everything furnished from logs for the fireplace down to peanuts to feed the birds! Erik was available to answer questions and provide suggestions for dining and sightseeing. We enjoyed our visit so much that we've already made plans to return next year.Recommended for: Age 55+.

We had a wonderful time at the Quail's Nest. The cottage is very well appointed with everything one might need away from home. We took daily walks in to town and to the beaches...Carmel beach is mere steps away. We also enjoyed our proximity to Big Sur and found a perfect balance between spending time in town and out in the beautiful parks. Erik was most helpful for everything we needed and a great host as far as providing detailed information of places to visit in the area. He recommended Los Lobos State Park a few miles away, which is a must see for people who enjoy nature! Thanks Erik for providing a great getaway for our little family!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I stayed for the week of our anniversary. Our trip was wonderful! The cottage is charming, and the location is great! Enjoyed walking every day, wonderful scenic views.
