  ...than we ever expected. Your condo is by far the most beautiful that we've seen. We came here for my best friend's wedding and visited her little condo rental and when she visited she was in awe and didn't want to go back to hers! Others stayed at a hotel and I'm sure those couldn't compare to the oceanfront view and lanai that we had. I'm just so happy to have spent some time here. Although we didn't have much time to utilize the beach equipment we are so appreciative of the supply! We brought our 13 mo old son and he always stood in front of the sliding door (in the bedroom) to look at the ocean. We had an awesome time here. We are definitely coming back next time...maybe when my next child is born! (That would be in about 7 mos.!!!) {:>D Mahalo!

  The girls loved playing in the pool and making cup cakes of sand. Saw a lot of whales in front and a lot of turtles, too. We will be back next year. Enjoy!

  It just doesn't get any better than this! Awesome views, quiet room off the street, only listening to the waves crashing! The room is beautiful and well equipped. A few suggestions...a light on the lanai, better knives, and more storage containers for leftovers...otherwise - awesome! This is our 4th time to the Mahana & I recommend it over and over again to friends. Thank you!

  Words can't say how awesome your condo & location are Russ & Carrie. My first trip to Maui (my husband has been here several times) & stayed at high end hotels. He LOVES this place the best. We are traveling from Canada & this is our 2nd island stop, celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. What wonderful memories we will have and share for years to come. My husband never thought he'd see Maui ever again. He had a "stem cell transplant" in June 2010. It has been a very rugged road we have both traveled the last couple of years. But "HE" endured & came back to is favorite place in the world. I'm so happy we got to spend this time here at your fabulous condo. We plan to come back in the very near future & hope we can make use of our wonderful holiday home. I am happy to say my husband is "cancer free" & life is terrific. We watched the sunrise this morning at Haleakala. Beautiful!! Tomorrow highway to Hana?? We survived the Hana trip!! Sorry to say we have to leave today. leaving behind a few supplies, laundry, drink, etc. Taking away a lot of great memories. "Fleetwoods" on front street is the newest happening hangout. We met Mick himself and Peter Fonda. Lots of fun. Off to Oahu for a few days, then back to Canada. Thanks again Carrie & Russ. We have had a wonderful time in your condo. "Mahalo."

  This place is fantastic! We wish we had had the whole week right here! We had a little time at the beach, at Dukes, a friday in Lahaina, and best of all time swimming with the turtles!   Really enjoyed being on ground floor. Beach and pool were excellent. Saw monk seal right in front, just off the beach. Some things we would recommend: snorkeling rocky cove north of Napili Bay was excellent. Other snorkeling spot we enjoyed Coral Garden (by boat charter or can swim from beach just north of tunnel) - saw couple of turtles; Black Rock was okay except swell and vis was poor. Would not recommend Molokini- more snorkelers than fish; nice reef though and did see quite large moray eel. Flew West Maui & Molokai with Maui Air. Kind of expensive, but quite an experience. Going to feast at LeLe tonight. Supposed to be very good. Would have liked to have gone to Old Lahaina Luau - but have to book way in advance. Next time! Thanks again!

  this will be short. THE CONDO IS FREAKING AWESOME!! It was our first time in Hawaii and this was a dream come true for us :) We're leaving a few Maui books and a mag, also a bit of alcohol and mini bath essentials. Honolua Bay is great for snorkeling and so is the Black Rock down to the left, way down, off our beach. Just be careful not to go in the water when the "trade winds" kick up in the afternoon because I came out with cuts and it was hard to swim. Beautiful coral! hate to be leaving :( I'm crying right now as I write. Have Fun! Enjoy & Relax! Thanks to the owners for sharing their beautiful home!

  no need to snorkel anywhere else except to the left of the condo. We left champagne flutes, cloth napkins, 2 rums and simple syrup (read directions on bottle), a few more spices, olive oil, soy etc., and a bathroom scale! Sorry to put a damper on vacation, but you can use it to weigh your bags before you go. Key tip: be gingerly when putting sun shades up and down and locking sliding glass door; locks need to be replaced/repaired in our opinion. Wifi requires sign-in every day/or when you shut off computer. Simo's Sunset Sun/Mon., go hear Benny & Gleinn sing 6-8pm. Tell them Laura & David said to come. Enjoy yourselves - We did!

  My husband and I enjoyed an 11 night stay in Carrie and Russ' condo in mid February. This main floor unit lived up to our expectations in every way. The pictures accurately describe the furniture and finishes and the views from the living room, bedroom and lanai were amazing! We made good use of the fully supplied kitchen and the outdoor barbeques on site. We spent many hours watching whales, dolphins and were also treated to a visit from a sea turtle and rare monk seal on the beach right in front.. The Mahana is in an excellent location in West Maui with many stores and restaurants nearby. It is at the end of a quiet street, with big old trees adding charm to the property. We did quite a bit of exploring on the island and looked at several other properties while on Maui. Nothing compared to the quiet, beautiful setting of the Mahana. This is not a 5 star resort with restaurants, bars and hundreds of tourists. We are so glad! We can hardly wait to return,

  Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

  condo here! Perfect location with a great beach to walk out to and just a short drive either direction for quick day trips. Our purpose for this trip was for me to run the Maui Oceanfront Marathon that started in Wailea and ended in Lahaina and then to just sit back, relax, and enjoy a stress-free vacation. You condo was the absolute Perfect place for this. Eating breakfast out on the lanai each morning, drinking Kona coffee, and watching whales breach off shore will be just a few of the many wonderful memories we will have to look back on with a smile on our faces. :) We leave today to go enjoy the Big Island but will definitely be looking forward to returning here to Mahana and your beautiful condo. Thank you for allowing us to share it with you! Mahalo!

  on our 1st vacation here in Maui. Loved being on the ground level and being able to walk out to the beach! I must warn you to be careful of the coral-those in the water and those being forcefully thrown at you by the waves! There are beaches w/o coral but have to take the boardwalk past the condos and walk past residential area-the beach there is w/o coral. Loved the condo! Need a few knives for cutting fresh veggies & fruit - steak knives don't "cut it". We took the Road to Hana which was lovely even with the curvy roads! Plan one whole day for this excursion! Also the Sacred Seven Pools is a stop at the end of your journey! Plan on swimming in these pools so leave enough time! We left at 7am and returned to condo at 10pm. Many banana bread stands on the way. Be sure to spend some time in Pa'ea - lovely surf and great restaurant, "Mama's Fish House good idea to make reservations. Found Front Street to be fun - has everything you need - food, drink, shopping, whale watching, snorkeling. We went through Pacific Whale Foundation and Snorkel Bob's. On our last night, went to the Old Lahaina luau - great food and show. By the way - found the knife block this morning! Thanks so much Carrie & Russ! Love your condo! Back to Chicago where I hear it's snowing!

  celebrating our 30th anniversary at your lovely condo! This truly is a "piece of paradise". We really appreciated the beautiful flower bouquet and it was a pleasure to meet you both.   What a beautiful condo in a perfect location! Perfectly quiet in front but close to shopping and pool nearby. Enjoyed many a breakfast over at Dukes - awesome eggs bennie, banana mac pancakes with coconut syrup and beach boy burrito! Food land farms in Lahaina - across from Safeway has excellent Poke! State park was a fun little hike about 30 minutes away. Thanks for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise! Mahalo!

  Stayed at this wonderful condo from 9/19 to 9/30 and we LOVED IT!!!!! We hated to leave!! Everything listed and the photos shown was right on the mark. This vacation was all about R&R and this condo fit the bill. The facilities at the Mahana are impeccable. This unit has everything anyone could want. We enjoyed many a happy hour at Duke's (which is a very short and enjoyable walk) via the beach and the happy hour at the Seahouse located in the Napili Kai Resort must not be missed. We cooked several meals at the condo using the George Foreman' grilled that is provided. We grilled chicken, pork chops, steak, hamburgers and fish to perfection - it is a must use item. This condo is first class all the way. We slept like babies on the most comfortable king size bed and enjoyed every morning on the lanai drinking our coffee and planning our day. Toward the end of our trip our coffee ran out and we discovered mocha's and vanilla latte's at the pool cafe. It opens at 7:00 and came in very handy - the bagels and cream cheese were yummy as well. A big Mahalo to the owners of this condo for sharing it with others. If you are thinking about booking this condo, DO IT!!!! You wont regret it!!!

  My husband and I love this place! Great location, beautiful setting and everything we needed was here. We could not have asked for a better place to spend our honeymoon. We recommend to take the road to Hana (we hired a private tour guide and highly recommend that), go snorkeling and to enjoy the beach. Thank you Carrie and Russ for the little extra things provided!   Our stay here in your lovely condo was wonderful! You have everything you need to make guests feel at home. Truly, you've done a beautiful job decorating! As for dining out, which we are in the restaurant business and love to do so, we have some favorites: Sea House at Napili Kai Beach Resort, Ohana Tacos and Sheraton Luau! Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tour - the best view of island! Mahalo!

  First time to Maui and loved it. Your condo is a great unit and the Mahana is the perfect location. We enjoyed the beach to the left. Took lots of walks down the boardwalk. Snorkeling 200 to 300 yards from the unit, to the south, was quite good. Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Roy's.

  My wife and I just got back from renting this condo for four nights and we loved it! The pictures do not do it justice as it is exceptionally beautiful! You can really appreciate the owner's attention to detail concerning decoration and upkeep! We enjoyed the complimentary bar and left an additional bottle for the next lucky visitors! It is literally RIGHT on the beach which is good for sunning and has GREAT snorkeling. The grocery store across the street. The staff are VERY friendly and keep the grounds nice and quiet. "Duke's", a classic beachfront bar, is a two minute walk away via the beach or walkway, good eats and great drinks. Bottom Line: If you are even considering renting this condo, BOOK IT! Even those with the most exquisite taste will NOT be disappointed! Mahalo Nui Loa to Carrie and Russ for letting us stay in their wonderful property!

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  Enjoyed your lovely and well appointed condo. Always nice to discover someone who appreciates all the homey touches & cleanliness & tidyness the way we do. We have a rented property ourselves and know how challenging it can be to keep things well maintained. The lanai was fantastic - loved all our dinners & breakfasts overlooking the ocean & watching the whales. Truly a little slice of heaven & thanks for sharing it with us. Mahalo! ps.   Love your condo! Love the Mahana & love Maui! Your condo was the nicest we've stayed in on Maui (5th trip here - 3rd time to the Mahana) But ... every time we've stayed there has been construction and loud noise all day M - F, which really puts a damper on relaxation. Wish they could come up with a schedule of maintenance time for all owners so the guests don't have to deal with it. Owners Reply: Thanks Myrna, Yes there was a lot of construction going on next door at the new condo building but they are all done now and it is beautiful. Your next stay with us should be mid 80's like it is right now while we are here, and that you have a wonderful time in this true paradise! Mahalo and Aloha

  Russ & Carrie, Mahalo ~ for your beautifully appointed, comfortable and exquisite condo. We enjoyed every loving touch - most especially today 11/6 - the binoculars to watch a school of 30-40 porpoise gracefully swimming past the lanai at lunchtime. Beautiful! This is our 1st trip to Maui and won't be our last. Discovering paradise in retirement is a blessing.   Aloha, This is our first visit to Maui and we have enjoyed staying in your beautiful place. We were married on Oct 17th and decided to come to Maui for our honeymoon. This has been such a great time, we could not be more happier. We loved staying on the ground floor having the beach just steps away. Waking up every morning and being able to look at the ocean was amazing. Your place has all someone would need and more. Thank you so much for allowing people to share your home here in Maui. One of my favorite places was the town of Paia - cute little surfer town with great shops and nice people. Lahaina was also a lot of fun for both of us. Cool Cat's Cafe is great on Thursday, and there is lots to look at and great shopping and lots of more restaurants. One of our favorite snorkeling places was just out to the left in front of Duke's Restaurant - there are many more throughout the island but it is just as good only steps away. Wailea also has some amazing beaches- pack a lunch and go hang out at the beach. Black Rock has a really nice beach for swimming also one of our favorite beaches was in Napili.   My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon in October 2010. It was clean, newly renovated, and well-decorated--exactly as advertised! The best part, of course, was the incredible oceanfront view. I know that some people don't choose to stay on the ground floor, but I thought it was ideal. It was wonderful to open the doors to the lanai and be steps from the ocean--you don't have to walk down any hallways or take the elevator--just walk a few steps! I had some concern that being on the ground floor might mean that there would be people right outside the condo. But, that wasn't the case. The condo is at the far end of the complex, so it felt really private. The complex itself is fantastic, too. We loved the pool and the BBQ area. There's a great fish market nearby and we ended up grilling fish most nights and eating on our lanai at sunset--it was wonderful! The complex is in a great location, too. It's just north of some of the big resorts, so it feels more low key. If you're looking for a beautiful, comfortable, oceanfront vacation but don't want to stay in a big resort, this condo is ideal.

  From the moment we walked in my wife and I were blown away by the unit and it's amazing view! The unit has really brought us a sense of home and relaxation for us during our honeymoon.   Thank you for an awesome 25th anniversary. For years now I have thought of what the perfect place would be like to celebrate 25 years of marriage. It had to be ocean view, ocean front, a place that was relaxing, a place to where we could put our toes in the sand steps from our door. This not only met our expecatations, it exceeded everyone. If I had to give one downfall, one thing that just wasn't right, it was that we had to leave. :( Seven days were just not enough. Thanks for sharing your peace of paradise. Mahalo - The Wests'

  What a comfortable and nicely decorated condo!! We enjoyed the spaciousness of the lanai and spent evenings there watching the sunsets, sipping cocktails and dining. Snorkeling between Duke's and the condo is fabulous. Lots of coral fields and fish to see. D.T. Flemings beach is a great place to body surf and boogie board. Maui has been one of our vacation destinations over the past two years. Now that we have found the perfect condo to stay, we hope to continue enjoying paradise in the future. Mahalo - Kevin & Bev

  The beautiful pictures on vrbo did not do this awesome condo justice! I originally booked this place for my time here for my wedding/honeymoon, but the wedding was cancelled 2 weeks prior to arriving, but I decided to vacation anyway to get away. This place was my sanctuary!! The view is absolutely Amazing! This condo was stocked with almost everything.   This place is amazing, awesome and a piece of heaven. We've stayed here (at the Mahana) 3 times before, but yours is the best condo so far. I so appreciate the generosity of prior guests, leaving spices, various condiments. We will do the same. We arrived the day before the uneventful tsunamai {:>D lots of wind, but still so wonderful.   I enjoyed six wonderful weeks in paradise at the Mahana, unit 118. The condo is beautiful, the ocean is magnificent and watching the whales was outstanding. The maid service provided was greatly appreciated, but the apartment is so well appointed that it was not difficult to keep it well maintained. The website describes the unit perfectly and the pictures are great. Thanks again, Carrie and Russ for sharing your piece of paradise with me. I am looking forward to six weeks again next year!!!!   Dear Russ & Carrie, Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful condo with us. Everything was absolutely perfect! After a day at the beach (Napili, Kapalua or Kaanapali) our favorite time of the day was to sip a martini as we watched the sunset. This was our 4th trip to Maui in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. We had never been here at this time of year but found the weather to be perfect (mid 80s most days). Back home it is already -29c, so we were thrilled w/the great weather. On this trip we took a helicopter ride (Blue Hawaiian of West Maui), went on two whale watching cruises (Maui Adventure Cruises) and to a luau (Old Lahaina Luau) and would recommend them all. We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at the Morriman's (sp ?) Restaurant in Kapaula. It's time to get ready to head off to the airport, so thanks again and hopefully see you soon!   Dear Carrie and Russ, while booking this trip, my husband handled everything while I paid little attention. As we were coming into the condo he said, "It's a shame the view sucks!" So I was not expecting the sight before my eyes when he held the door open for me! It was nothing less than spectacular! Your home is beautifully done and comfortable at the same time. We came here to rest and remind ourselves of what is truly important. I have decided that more relaxing is needed, more alone time (just us) and more peace. We found it here!   09/24-10/08 - I can't believe I'm starting to write this - our 2 weeks in paradise is coming to an end. This place is absolutely amazing!! I've tried to think of something that wasn't perfect and I can't!! The unit is amazing - EVERYTHING we needed at our fingertips. We stayed last year at Kaanapali Shores with our daughter and friend - hubby & I wanted to try something different this year - Googled, did a virtual tour of the unit and we were booked!! We'll never stay anywhere else! Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of Heaven with us!!
