My husband and I enjoyed an 11 night stay in Carrie and Russ' condo in mid February. This main floor unit lived up to our expectations in every way. The pictures accurately describe the furniture and finishes and the views from the living room, bedroom and lanai were amazing! We made good use of the fully supplied kitchen and the outdoor barbeques on site. We spent many hours watching whales, dolphins and were also treated to a visit from a sea turtle and rare monk seal on the beach right in front.. The Mahana is in an excellent location in West Maui with many stores and restaurants nearby. It is at the end of a quiet street, with big old trees adding charm to the property. We did quite a bit of exploring on the island and looked at several other properties while on Maui. Nothing compared to the quiet, beautiful setting of the Mahana. This is not a 5 star resort with restaurants, bars and hundreds of tourists. We are so glad! We can hardly wait to return,

What a beautiful condo in a perfect location! Perfectly quiet in front but close to shopping and pool nearby. Enjoyed many a breakfast over at Dukes - awesome eggs bennie, banana mac pancakes with coconut syrup and beach boy burrito! Food land farms in Lahaina - across from Safeway has excellent Poke! State park was a fun little hike about 30 minutes away. Thanks for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise! Mahalo!

Stayed at this wonderful condo from 9/19 to 9/30 and we LOVED IT!!!!! We hated to leave!! Everything listed and the photos shown was right on the mark. This vacation was all about R&R and this condo fit the bill. The facilities at the Mahana are impeccable. This unit has everything anyone could want. We enjoyed many a happy hour at Duke's (which is a very short and enjoyable walk) via the beach and the happy hour at the Seahouse located in the Napili Kai Resort must not be missed. We cooked several meals at the condo using the George Foreman' grilled that is provided. We grilled chicken, pork chops, steak, hamburgers and fish to perfection - it is a must use item. This condo is first class all the way. We slept like babies on the most comfortable king size bed and enjoyed every morning on the lanai drinking our coffee and planning our day. Toward the end of our trip our coffee ran out and we discovered mocha's and vanilla latte's at the pool cafe. It opens at 7:00 and came in very handy - the bagels and cream cheese were yummy as well. A big Mahalo to the owners of this condo for sharing it with others. If you are thinking about booking this condo, DO IT!!!! You wont regret it!!!

My husband and I love this place! Great location, beautiful setting and everything we needed was here. We could not have asked for a better place to spend our honeymoon. We recommend to take the road to Hana (we hired a private tour guide and highly recommend that), go snorkeling and to enjoy the beach. Thank you Carrie and Russ for the little extra things provided! I hope that if we are ever able to come back, that we could spend our time here again. Mahalo!

Our stay here in your lovely condo was wonderful! You have everything you need to make guests feel at home. Truly, you've done a beautiful job decorating! As for dining out, which we are in the restaurant business and love to do so, we have some favorites: Sea House at Napili Kai Beach Resort, Ohana Tacos and Sheraton Luau! Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tour - the best view of island! Mahalo!

First time to Maui and loved it. Your condo is a great unit and the Mahana is the perfect location. We enjoyed the beach to the left. Took lots of walks down the boardwalk. Snorkeling 200 to 300 yards from the unit, to the south, was quite good. Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Roy's.

My wife and I just got back from renting this condo for four nights and we loved it! The pictures do not do it justice as it is exceptionally beautiful! You can really appreciate the owner's attention to detail concerning decoration and upkeep! We enjoyed the complimentary bar and left an additional bottle for the next lucky visitors! It is literally RIGHT on the beach which is good for sunning and has GREAT snorkeling. The grocery store across the street. The staff are VERY friendly and keep the grounds nice and quiet. "Duke's", a classic beachfront bar, is a two minute walk away via the beach or walkway, good eats and great drinks. Bottom Line: If you are even considering renting this condo, BOOK IT! Even those with the most exquisite taste will NOT be disappointed! Mahalo Nui Loa to Carrie and Russ for letting us stay in their wonderful property!

Enjoyed your lovely and well appointed condo. Always nice to discover someone who appreciates all the homey touches & cleanliness & tidyness the way we do. We have a rented property ourselves and know how challenging it can be to keep things well maintained. Love your condo! Love the Mahana & love Maui! Your condo was the nicest we've stayed in on Maui (5th trip here - 3rd time to the Mahana) But ... every time we've stayed there has been construction and loud noise all day M - F, which really puts a damper on relaxation. Wish they could come up with a schedule of maintenance time for all owners so the guests don't have to deal with it. Owners Reply: Thanks Myrna, Yes there was a lot of construction going on next door at the new condo building but they are all done now and it is beautiful. We enjoyed every loving touch - most especially today 11/6 - the binoculars to watch a school of 30-40 porpoise gracefully swimming past the lanai at lunchtime. Beautiful! This is our 1st trip to Maui and won't be our last. Discovering paradise in retirement is a blessing. Aloha, This is our first visit to Maui and we have enjoyed staying in your beautiful place. We were married on Oct 17th and decided to come to Maui for our honeymoon. This has been such a great time, we could not be more happier. We loved staying on the ground floor having the beach just steps away. Waking up every morning and being able to look at the ocean was amazing. Your place has all someone would need and more. Thank you so much for allowing people to share your home here in Maui. One of my favorite places was the town of Paia - cute little surfer town with great shops and nice people. Lahaina was also a lot of fun for both of us. Cool Cat's Cafe is great on Thursday, and there is lots to look at and great shopping and lots of more restaurants. One of our favorite snorkeling places was just out to the left in front of Duke's Restaurant - there are many more throughout the island but it is just as good only steps away. Wailea also has some amazing beaches- pack a lunch and go hang out at the beach. Black Rock has a really nice beach for swimming also one of our favorite beaches was in Napili. My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon in October 2010. It was clean, newly renovated, and well-decorated--exactly as advertised! The best part, of course, was the incredible oceanfront view. I know that some people don't choose to stay on the ground floor, but I thought it was ideal. It was wonderful to open the doors to the lanai and be steps from the ocean--you don't have to walk down any hallways or take the elevator--just walk a few steps! I had some concern that being on the ground floor might mean that there would be people right outside the condo. But, that wasn't the case. The condo is at the far end of the complex, so it felt really private. The complex itself is fantastic, too. We loved the pool and the BBQ area. There's a great fish market nearby and we ended up grilling fish most nights and eating on our lanai at sunset--it was wonderful! The complex is in a great location, too. It's just north of some of the big resorts, so it feels more low key. If you're looking for a beautiful, comfortable, oceanfront vacation but don't want to stay in a big resort, this condo is ideal.

Thank you for an awesome 25th anniversary. For years now I have thought of what the perfect place would be like to celebrate 25 years of marriage. What a comfortable and nicely decorated condo!! We enjoyed the spaciousness of the lanai and spent evenings there watching the sunsets, sipping cocktails and dining. Snorkeling between Duke's and the condo is fabulous. Lots of coral fields and fish to see. D.T. Flemings beach is a great place to body surf and boogie board. The beautiful pictures on vrbo did not do this awesome condo justice! I originally booked this place for my time here for my wedding/honeymoon, but the wedding was cancelled 2 weeks prior to arriving, but I decided to vacation anyway to get away. I enjoyed six wonderful weeks in paradise at the Mahana, unit 118. The condo is beautiful, the ocean is magnificent and watching the whales was outstanding. The maid service provided was greatly appreciated, but the apartment is so well appointed that it was not difficult to keep it well maintained. Dear Russ & Carrie, Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful condo with us. Everything was absolutely perfect! After a day at the beach (Napili, Kapalua or Kaanapali) our favorite time of the day was to sip a martini as we watched the sunset. This was our 4th trip to Maui in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. We had never been here at this time of year but found the weather to be perfect (mid 80s most days). Back home it is already -29c, so we were thrilled w/the great weather. On this trip we took a helicopter ride (Blue Hawaiian of West Maui), went on two whale watching cruises (Maui Adventure Cruises) and to a luau (Old Lahaina Luau) and would recommend them all. We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at the Morriman's (sp ?) Restaurant in Kapaula. It's time to get ready to head off to the airport, so thanks again and hopefully see you soon! Dear Carrie and Russ, while booking this trip, my husband handled everything while I paid little attention. As we were coming into the condo he said, "It's a shame the view sucks!" So I was not expecting the sight before my eyes when he held the door open for me! It was nothing less than spectacular! Your home is beautifully done and comfortable at the same time. We came here to rest and remind ourselves of what is truly important. I have decided that more relaxing is needed, more alone time (just us) and more peace. We found it here! 09/24-10/08 - I can't believe I'm starting to write this - our 2 weeks in paradise is coming to an end. This place is absolutely amazing!! I've tried to think of something that wasn't perfect and I can't!! The unit is amazing - EVERYTHING we needed at our fingertips. We stayed last year at Kaanapali Shores with our daughter and friend - hubby & I wanted to try something different this year - Googled, did a virtual tour of the unit and we were booked!! I just wanted to let you know how much my family enjoyed staying at your condo. Your condo is stunning, I can honestly say that rarely have I felt so pampered. The condo is perfectly equipped with everything you could imagine needing. The kitchen is incredible and was perfectly outfitted (as our son has food allergies, we cooked every meal at the condo). The view from the condo is beautiful beyond words- a joy to wake up to every morning. And something that I did not anticipate was access to the Kaanapali beach walk - we ran or walked it every day and it was absolutely delightful. I can not recommend your condo any higher, it really was a 5 star experience. Thank you!

4/05/09 - 4/11/09 - We really enjoyed your wonderful condo. It's beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We had great meals at Mama's Fish House (worth the drive), Lahaina Grill, breakfast at the Sea House was our favorite breakfast. Also the deli up the street for takeout. Only dissapointment was the weather (very little sun) - but out of anyone's control. Our only issue with the condo was the wifi service was very intermittent even in the lobby where the signal was supposed to be strongest. It was down for days at a time. Even with the lack of sun, we had a blast. Thanks!

We had such a wonderful trip to Maui - so much to explore and yet still so relaxing. The condo is beautiful and such a great location - we took full advantage of the beach!! Carrie and Russ…We just wanted to say thank you for the outstanding accommodations. We absolutely love this place. Your home is gorgeous and the location is fabulous, we felt completely at home. It was really a treat having such a luxurious condo in which to enjoy our vacation. The quality of workmanship and design is first class! The furnishings were beautiful, the kitchen was very well equipped with high end stainless appliances and the bed was extremely comfortable. The views are truly amazing - we spent many relaxing hours on the lanai watching the whales and listening to the surf. The views of Moloka'i and Lana'i from the lanai are just spectacular. This Condo has with out a doubt, the best location in this complex. It is the perfect spot if you want some peace and some quiet to unwind from the stresses of life. We couldn't have had a more beautiful and relaxing place to stay. I am glad we never have to worry about finding another place to stay while in Maui. We will definitely be back...

02/07/09 - 02/12/09 Dear Russ and Carrie, This is our second visit to the Mahana condos and we thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and comfort of yours. We come to Maui to rest, relax, and unwind from our stressful professions, so to experience the calm and comfort of your condo was just perfect for us. We walked on the beach 2x a day, snorkeled, and rented ocean kayaks. Whale watching was superb and we had an experience of a lifetime in our kayaks and being within 100ft of a mama and baby whale that came up to our yellow kayak. This vacation was physical therapy for me as I had fallen on the ski slopes 5 days before our vacation. I tore my ACL, and miniscus and bruised my tibia plateau. I thought I was faced with surgery but my Dr. said go on vacation, enjoy and start physical therapy when you return. The walks on the beach and swimming in the ocean have brought a lot of healing and progress to my recovery. This vacation was also celebration of my husbands 54th birthday and he has enjoyed our time here. I hope that everyone who rents your place appreciates it for it's quality and comfort. We look forward to returning again in the near future.

12/18/08 - 12/30/08 Totally lived up to expectations - after months of anticipation, we were very pleased to finally be here. Saw dozens of spinner dolphins and even a few whales right here on the lanai!! Spent Christmas Day with our 6 & 8 year old kids - even cooked a whole turkey! Spent time on the beach half-way to Black Rock, and the Four Winds to Coral Gardens, Mini-Golf in Maalea Kapalua Beach, Java Jazz for breakfast, BJs on Front Street, Sea Horse for lunch. So many things! ALL GREAT. Thanks for the use of this very nicely decorated condo.

"We absolutely loved your Maui condo! Everything is beautiful, really love the granite countertops, stainless appliances, travertine floors, shower, and bath! We're pretty sure you have the most elegant yet warm feeling condo in Mahana. We also thought the Drexel Heritage furniture choices were amazing! We just finished building a custom home in Fall City, WA..so we notice the details and you guys did a fantastic job! We loved the ground level too, it made it so easy to walk out of the lanai and lay in the sun. Thank you! Brett and Liz

12/01/08 thru 12/11/08 Wow! We so enjoyed staying in this amazing condo. It's so beautiful and well decorated and really helped make our 1st trip to Hawaii perfect! Places we really enjoyed while on Maui: The drive north of Kapulua is super cool. There's a neat blow hole and we even saw a whale. We really enjoyed eating at Sansei in Kapalua...super yummy sushi there! Lahaina was fun and we enjoyed many a dinner there. The Lahaina Fish Company was yummy! Lastly, we did the drive to the Haleakala summit, but during the day and not at sunrise. It was stunning! Thanks again for letting us stay in your gorgeous condo!! p.s. We loved Big Beach in South Maui too!

Place was so beautiful. We had fabulous weather. Saw a whale while having lunch outside on the lanai. Went snorkeling, saw hundreds of dolphins, whales, sea turtles and so many beautiful fish. Went on hiking trip, saw many waterfalls. Had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner cruise. Was a very relaxing week. Fun In Paradise!

The pictures didn't lie! What a beautiful little place to stay at during our week here in Maui! The condo was beautifully decorated, and the views are awesome! The location couldn't have been better. Napili Bay and Kimo's were the best beach for snorkeling, and the best restaurant for Opah...Next time a game of shuffleboard asnd a round at Kapalua! Thanks so much for the chance to enjoy your little piece of paradise - we'll be back next year!

10/19/2008 - 10/24/2008 We've stayed in four different units here at the Mahana and your unit is by far the most well decorated, updated one. We brought our 3 yr old and 11 month old with us and they had a great time here at the beach just out to the left past the rocks. Some highlights...Maui Ocean Center - AWESOME! Old Lahaina Luau - BEST LUAU EVER! Makena Beach - Great, big beach, but Big waves - not so good for kids, good for boogie boarders. Napili Bay - Small beach, but AWESOME snorkeling, calm waters.

What a great find with this condo, the view.....excellent! Close to what we need, yet far enough from the huge resorts and crowds. Been to the Isles a bunch, this was the best stay. This is what I've been expecting from Hawaii. Thank you for the use of your condo!

We really enjoyed staying in this condo. We came for 7 days with our 3-1/2 month old daughter. It wa a vacation and a lot of relaxing and spending time with each other. We loved just being here and looking at the ocean. Short walks on the beach and Marlo's first swim in the pool. A couple of places we enjoyed: Maui Fish Market (4405 Lower Honoapiilani Hwy) just take a left past the ABC on the left hand side of the raod. Yummy poke and fresh fish. They do a couple of nice marinades and give you a pan to bbq it in. Also, great fish tacos! Farmer's Market: (at the next shopping center past the Fish Market on the left across from a park on the beach) is a little grocery store with great organic and local produce (cheaper and better than Star Market). Salad Bar, awesome homemade dips like hummus and guacamole. Lots of locals. We look forward to spending another week here in the future. Mahalo!
