Cottage Will Be Available Beginning June 16, 2009, Possibly Sooner. The Minimum Rental Period Will Be One Full Month. Term Can Begin On Any Day Of The Month. Rental Period Can Extend Through October 15.
We Hope To Be Contacted By Families Who Can Envision Returning Year After Year, As Others Have Done In The Past.
The Cottage Has Been In Our Family Since 1962. We Have Been Offering It For Rent Since 2000.

- Air Conditioning: Not 100% effective throughout cottage on very hot days, but moveable fans are provided to enhance cooling throughout the downstairs. The two upstairs bedrooms receive the best A/C cooling if desired, and each also has a ceiling fan.

- Off Street Parking: The concrete pad and driveway behind garage can accommodate six mid-sized autos, in two rows. Adjacent Abbey Springs parking lot is not available to cottage users.
- Beds
- Queen Bed (2) : One queen bed in each of the two upstairs bedrooms. West bedroom has private shower-toilet-sink. East bedroom has in-room sink and private toilet closet. Bedrooms have good AC coverage and ceiling fans.
- Twin/Single Bed (2) : Trundle bed in west porch room converts to two single beds, either side by side or in tandem. West porch room gets some noise from an adjacent closet containing water heater & the cottage heating-cooling unit. Easy access from west porch to downstairs bathroom.
- Convertible Bed: Futon couch in the room facing the lake can be converted to a double size bed each evening. A privacy screen can be dropped down to make the area semi-private--other sleepers are at least two rooms distant. Small cable TV and VHS player serves this area, which also has easy access to downstairs bathroom.
- Entertainment
- Cable/Satellite TV: Room facing lake has small cable TV plus VHS player. A larger cable TV with VHS/DVD player is located in the larger living room between the open kitchen and the stairs to the bedrooms. Wireless earphones allow the TV to be on "mute" to avoid disturbing non-viewers.

- Full Kitchen: Located in middle of cottage, with open views all way to lake. Working counter area is limited, but adequate. A nook with table/chairs and rustic bay window adds ambiance and one more place to chat, or to set up a buffet.

- Deck/Patio: Brick patio with table and benches. Extra folding chairs for outdoor use are available in garage.

- Lakefront: A gently sloping, tree-shaded lawn provides easy access from the cottage to the lakefront and the cottage's private pier.
- Communications
- Telephone: Local calls are accessible from the cottage telephone. An answering machine is connected.
- Other Amenities
- Daily maintenance noise and music noise from the Abbey Springs Yacht Club playground, beach, restaurant and parking lot affect the cottage, more intensely during the more popular summer months. Cottage users have no Abbey Springs usage rights. The garage portion of the cottage is available for renter storage of small articles, but not for autos. The cottage lawn and pier is for the exclusive use of cottage occupants and their guests, which sometimes is not realized by Abbey Springs visitors--but there have been no serious incidents or problems.
- Suitability
- No Pets Allowed: Exceptions made, at owner discretion, depending upon anticipated impact re allergies, fleas, damage, etc.
- Kid Friendly: Downstairs bathroom contains a small tub/shower with flex hose--works well for adults also. This bathroom also contains a washing machine and dryer. Other kid friendly items include the ability to lock the door from the "west porch" room to the garage. The pool table and balls must be monitored when young children are present--a cover is provided.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: Families and mature adults are the preferred renters, not young-adult partiers--due to neighbors close by and many one-of-a-kind mementos on walls, etc.
